I'm going to start three books, which could potentially change depending on how much I like each of them:
Legend of the Blue Owl by Wayne Parrish
The Black Flower A Novel of the Civil War by Howard Bahr
Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin

Now I am onto Water for Elephants for our next book read! I'm about 30 pages in and I like it so far! Haha.

I just finished reading The Probable Future By: Alice Hoffman and The Reader By: Bernhard Schlink Both of these were okay. I have read better books by Alice Hoffman than this title.

Anastasia..I'm LOVING it so far! It's really interesting! I love the characters already and I'm only on page 100.

The Help
The Lovely Bones
Water for Elephants
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

I've been told I must read this. It's been sitting on my shelf. I'll get around to it hopefully soon! Let me know what you think!

It's not my favorite Picoult either, but I'd say it's probably her most well known and requently read. Jamie, I have a copy of My Sister's Keeper at home, and would be willing to lend it to you!

My problem with My Sister's Keeper is the ending. I don't disagree with what happens, but how Picoult goes about accomplishing it.
This said, although I want to read most of Picoult's books, I seriously doubt I will ever give any of them a five star rating. They're kind of a light read for me. I think the plots are good and that she writes about interesting subject matter, but when I read her prose I always feel like it's cliched, something I've read before. I also just don't think her prose is the best written.
I know I sound really picky, but I love it when an author picks words to descibe something that you feel like you would have never thought of but are so perfect and I also really enjoy writing and developing descriptive pieces. I suppose I'm a bit pretentious in that respec.

Now, I'm starting on White Nights by Ann Cleeves. It sounds like a kinda of mystery, so we'll see!

I tried reading A Farewell to Arms and got about half way through it. I might pick it up another time. I was enjoying it but other books were calling to me. What do you think of it so far Lori?

I loved The Secret Garden.
I'm rereading a favorite book, and I'm also reading Body of Knowledge. Which I need to quickly finish, the author sent me the book over a week ago and I haven't had time to read it yet.

Janet, First, I really am not into romance stories. They are okay, but not something I would pick to read. That said, the story was a bit different, had some twists I really didn't see coming, and it was an easy fairly entertaining read, so it was average I guess. I would like to reach through the pages and slap a few people every now and then. :)
I just finished Persuasion, and I have to say, I believe it is my favorite of Jane Austen's. Funny, it is the last one I had of hers to still read. Not sure what I am going to start next. Should try to get homework out of the way first, but you all see how well I am doing with that too! Bad Goodreads!

I just finished reading Water for Elephants and now I'm on to reading The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver!

I went to the library today and got 3 books for my challenge.
Casino Royale
One Thousand and One Nights
Cannery Row
Really need to go to the store and get Sun Also Rises and The Hunger Games since they are June reads and rented out at the library.

I bought this a few years ago and never got around to it. I think I may have started it but I would really like to get to it sometime. How is it?
