TBR Mountain Decimation Challenge

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the most success has come from weight watchers combined with exercise (regularly). Last year, my 40+ (that's 20th birthday celebrated 20+ times) wife started running 5k races (for the first time in her life). I'm very proud. but also off topic. Sorry about that.

I am fairly good at working out. I hit the elliptical at least 3 times a week and I walk 20 - 30 minutes everyday.
I am very good at keeping hydrated. I'm always drinking water, tea, or Diet Pepsi...
Lady D! You need to drink more when it's hot like that out. We can't have you getting heat stroke on us!

I wish I could eat bad food. I would kill for some pizza or a cheeseburger or some cheesy pasta or chili cheese fries... Mmmm.. And none of those healthier versions, I want the real deal baste that shit in butter versions... But the food guilt after I eat stuff like that is horrible, so I basically never eat it. I want to not have the guilt.. Just eat and not worry about it (I don't need to lose weight, I should indulge sometimes!)... But I can't. I obsess :/

*jealous*
I love food.

You know that fasting isn't all it's cracked up to be. It promotes gorging yourself (or simply overeating) when you do eat. There are a lot of studies out there that show/believe the proved how "thin" isn't necessarily "healthy."
Sorry to get on my soap box. I have a 6 year old daughter who thinks "you're the best daddy." I worry about her and who she picks as her role models sometimes. Uh... I didn't actually mean me there, but I worry about that too. (:{)>

I've lost 30 pounds! W00T!
All I did, really was cut out most of the sugars I was eating, which at the time was a lot. I exercise too, as I mentioned before. So that helped.
I seem to have plateaued, however. I still have to watch what I eat, but that can be difficult when people are waving candy bars in my face...LOL

lol! That may be true, though.

Denae, you scare me! You are just too precise with this for my peace of mind.
Rachel, that sounds like you are just cutting dead weight. Good for you.

I have a spreadsheet.
Besides, it was the only way I could think to participate, since I don't buy many books. I think it will end up being helpful from the standpoint of making me read stuff I wouldn't otherwise. Hooray for RNG!

Hi there! It's so awesome to be able to talk to booknuts all over the world.

Had to up my challenge list to 61 to comply with my 10% rule. Part of my problem is I've been reading other stuff. Part of it is that I'm continually adding books. I just finished reading a book that resulted in me adding more than half a dozen books!

Books Completed Since Last Update (8/18/11)
Smilla's Sense of Snow by Peter Høeg from 8/14/11 to 8/18/11 - 3 Stars
Nineteen Seventy-Seven by David Peace from 8/19/11 to 8/22/11 - 3 Stars

Goal: Read 300 books in 1.5 years, start date 7/27/11.
Read 3 older tbr pile books for 1 brand new tbr pile book.
Read 1 TBR pile owned book for every new book you buy, start date 8/31/11. Review reads count towards bought book quota.
Update: 8/4/11
Completed: 20/300 (owned books)
Credits Earned: Started 1:1 plan 8/1. Already bought 8 books. I read 2 books this month so far. So I need to read 6 books before I can buy any more books.

Apparently I have a shit more books than I even thought I did. I have tons of ebooks I've bought from Fictionwise that I haven't even downloaded.
I have even more at smashwords and allromanceebooks.com that I haven't downloaded. Not to mention Carina Press.
And these don't include the ones I have on my Calibre at work and my Calibre at home that I just haven't read. I've added a new column so that I can check it that I've read it. o_O

That button is the epitome of evil! LOL

I started the challenge with 1012 books in my TBR pile. I've read no more than five and I now have 1156 books on my tbr list, and counting.
If that wasn't bad enough, I've gone to two Friends of the Library book sales and made off with six big bags of books.
My sense of guilt is warring with my excitement over the fact that I bought some really great books. What can I say? The look of a packed bookshelf destroys my self-control :)
How is everyone else doing with their TBR decimation challenge?
