Did you copy the "html code" option? If you look at the html code, it is the code I posted before, plus a whole lot of other junk. When I posted that code, I was making the html aspect as simple as possible--all you need is the img src code and the link to your pic.
Go edit your post so you can look at the html code. There is only one way to post a pic here, that's why I know you're using the same code as I posted. But I bet you also have an a href code at the beginning. And what the "a href" tag does is makes your picture a clickable link. So if I click on the picture of your daughter, it takes me to your photobucket page and I can look at all your other stuff. I know I don't want anyone being able to look at all the crap I have in my photobucket account. ;)
So the way I posted just posts the pic, and doesn't turn it into a link:
< img src="insert link to your image">
Just take out the first space. It's super easy, once you do it a couple times you'll have it memorized.

OK I see it and I took that out. That's the only picture I had on there.
OK-I don't know why all that extra stuff is showing now.

Html codes seem scary and confusing at first, but you'll see if you take out all that extra unnecessary gobbledy gook, it starts making sense and isn't so confusing anymore. :)

All my years in high school, Grade 7-12 the only homework I did was in Geography in 7 & 9 because the teacher scared the crap out of me. LOL

Thank you for coming out, Sandra. It has given me the courage to say...
My name is Laura, and I am a coaster.
I don't think I ever even brought a book home during high school. I got all my homework done in study hall.
My HS was stupid because they didn't weigh grades. So freshman year, I was in honors English, Algebra & History. Then sophomore year, honors English & Geometry, and I dropped honors Geometry for regular Geometry the first week of school, as soon as I found out we had to write papers in the class. Whaaaat??? This is MATH, not English. Then I didn't take any honors classes junior or senior year.
Now, if I would have gotten more points on my GPA for an A in honors English as opposed to regular English, it might have been worth my while. But if I get a lower GPA getting a B in honors English than I would getting an A in regular English, why would I work harder for that honors B? Yes, I know, working to your potential, blah blah blah. And in a perfect world, kids might care at all about that. But until that happens, they need to weigh grades--more points for challenging yourself in an honors class.

My little sister got straight A's without trying. B*tch! J/K (mostly) LOL!

I was smart.... I got an award when I graduated 8th grade, cuz I got straight A's K-8. In high school, I took all honors classes, unless it wasn't offered as honors. I got all A's except for like in a Spanish class or 2, Speech, Calculus, even then, I didn't fail any of those. I think the lowest grade I had was a C.
College was where it all went bad, and of course that's when it's more important, cuz it's soo damn expensive. I was there 4 years, had 2 different majors, and then failed out. I had like A's first semester and then after that I probably only got A's in like 3 or 4 more classes. (One of those A's was Greek and Roman Myth. :-D I love mythology!)
So, now I'm trying school again after like 2 years. It's only junior college this time, so it won't cost me as much, but it still might take me 4 years. The program I want to get into only has like 20 slots, and I don't think I'll have enough points to get into it for next Fall. (It takes 2 years to complete once you're in it.) So, I'm probably gonna have to spend this year and next taking some of the prerequisite classes and getting my GPA up and stuff.
*sighs* Darn school.... I'm kind of excited to be going back. I like learning. I kind of liked homework sometimes too. Not tests though. Bleah.....

But I knew I didn't want to go to Uni, I was already bored with high school, it would only get worse.
Ended up doing Personnel/Human Resources part time cause my job paid for it. And it was interesting cause I could use it at work.
But my sister was the surprise. She now has a doctorate in the healthcare admin research field.
She only went to Grade 10, left school, worked, got married, had 2 kids, did the books for self employed hubby. 10 yrs later, decided to go back to school, graduated, went to Uni, got A's, they asked her to do an Honours year (its an extra yr). She got pregnant with twins (14 yr gap between kids), got the Honours, got the University Medal (only 1 handed out each year). She had my nieces, she was asked to do a Doctorate that the Uni would pay for, her husband left her when the twins were 5 mnths old. She got the Doctorate and has been to places like Canada to present at Conferences as a key note speaker. She works at the Uni now as a Project Manger. And all 4 of my nieces are just wonderful and I am so proud of my lil sis.

Is it monsterously sexist of me to point out that all the success stories of men doing things like that, never include the 'and his wife left him and he raised 4 babies by himself' aspect?
Sometimes I'm just so proud to be a woman! :) We kick @$$!!!

Still it was a big shock, cause my sis looks like she's 30 when she is 46, always been pretty and obviously has brains. And the kids have always been good, no probs with them. No money worries either.
I can only think he felt threatened. Big idiot!

So glad to hear your sis has done well!

See, That is what I would have liked to see for my oldest. Good for your sister!

Kristin I love that picture!!!!! Man I just want to dive in. My 7.5 year old just lost his 3rd tooth. He was so proud. :)

Jack just got braces in May, he was 11 and 3 months, and he has all of his adult teeth, and you can even see his wisdoms on his xray. The orthodontist must have commented 5 times on how shocked he was that he had all his adult teeth already, and honestly, I couldn't tell you the last time he lost a tooth, but it's been at least a year.
So I was just wondering exactly how freaky my kid's mouth was. :) What's the normal amount of teeth left to lose at 11?

Grace has a friend in 3rd grade who has them, and we have family friends who's son is 11, he's already had one set, just got them off and now they're waiting for all his adult teeth for the "real" set.
I asked the orthodontist what they would do if he didn't have all his adult teeth, since I knew younger kids who had braces, and he told me they would wait because his problems weren't bad enough to require 2 sets.
I had always wondered about them putting them on kids so young, and I guess that's why. They're sooooo much easier to put in these days, since the brackets glue right to their teeth instead of having those horrible metal bands around each tooth, like when we were kids. Jack has a ton of gaps and an overbite, so he just has his top ones on now--they need to move the top teeth before they can put the bottom braces on. But it took probably a half hour to 45 minutes to put on those top braces--super fast. So I guess it's not that big a deal to put on more than one set.

And I see those big..."
The teeth are a trip, aren't they! My son has three boy cousins all between 9 and 7. They ALL have big ol' Chiclet teeth and it is HILARIOUS to see them smile together.

I didn't have them, but I've heard horror stories. Jack's don't hurt him at all, the only time he had pain and needed the wax was the few days after he got them, and they were irritating the inside of his lip.
They are so high tech now--just the brackets glued to their teeth, then each bracket flips up and a wire is placed there, then they click down the bracket and secure it with rubberbands, and they get to pick the colors.
But all the tooth moving is done by these super strong titanium wires--the orthodontist shapes a wire to make the teeth move where he wants them, then Jack goes back every 7 weeks, he checks the progress, shapes a new wire and that's it.
My son's a bit of a sports nut, when he first got the braces he got red & black rubberbands for the Bulls & Blackhawks in the playoffs. Now he has black & white for the White Sox. When he goes back in August he's planning on getting red & blue for his youth football team, and then orange & navy for the Bears in October. He's got it all planned. Lol.

My daughter is 10.5. She only has two teeth left to lose. Her orthodontist said that she's early. She already had one round of braces in 2nd-3rd grade. She'll probably have a second round of braces on top.

It all costs a fortune.

Tell me about it. I'm paying $200 a month for 18 months for these suckers. And that's after the pittance insurance coughed up.

Love seeing the kids!!
I think the orthos get the kids hooked because they can pick the rubber bands. Maggie used to get a different color on each tooth, until the crabby tech told her to only pick two colors!

Don't I know it! My oldest finally had her braces removed last year...over $7200 once all was said and done! It's criminal I tell you.

I have a feeling that is going to change because my state hates public school teachers and the government is doing everything they can to take away everything they can from us.

Kristen - 100% coverage - wow! We had coverage of 50% up to $1500. That was it. It helped, but a little bit outdated.

Isn't it sad? Illinois isn't much better. My brother lives in a town of 20,000 people, median household income of $95k, only 1% of people below the poverty level. So a fairly well off town, right? Well, Illinois owes all the school districts money for the last year or so. So everyone has been scrambling trying to raise enough money to meet the school budgets. In my bro's town (like pretty much all the other towns around here) they have voted twice not to raise the taxes for the schools. So his district cancelled all extra-curriculars for K-8. So no sports, no band. Lovely, huh? And they feed into a HS with another even more affluent town, whose kids still have a band, and a basketball team, and a choir, and a cross country team. So basically, they're screwing their entire community of kids. Sad.

*ting* :D *sparkle*"
And that's what we're all hoping for. :) both my kids have tons of gaps, but so did I and now my teeth are close enough to perfect that people assume I had braces. So they close up. But in the meantime, hello jack-o-lantern!
But Jack got the braces for the overbite--I'm sure they would have tried to talk me into them for the gaps, but I doubt I would have taken the bait. But now here's my predicament--how do I not give my girlie the same chance at beautiful teeth? I will be torn when the time comes. But at least Jack's will be off when her turn rolls around--maybe I'll be so used to paying that $200 a month that it will be no biggie. Ya, right. ;)

I'm just across the pond in Michigan. There is so much that is changing "in the name of kids" - but it's going to hurt them. Our state govt created a new budget where corporations get a HUGE tax break and average citizens and retirees will pay more in taxes. If I were a retiree, I'd leave this state (unfortunately, I have 13 more years of teaching to go before I get to retire).
"They" also moved a huge chunk of public school money to public universities. And...ironically, most of the public universities raised their tuition a few weeks after the vote!
I'm waiting for the day when the average Joes revolt! I think we've become a bit too complacent.

I'm waiting for the day when the Average Joes stop voting against their own best interests. I know, pipe dream.
I have a friend from high school on facebook who lives in Michigan, and you posting that stuff reminded me of all the stuff he posts on FB about your state government. He's not a fan. ;)

I am curious what town? The Illinois government has really started the process of screwing all of us. My community (Oak Park) was one of the few (if not the only, but I don't want to say this and be wrong) that passed a referendum for the school district this year. I am guessing your brother lives in either a northern burb that feeds into New Trier or a western burb that feeds into a high school shared with Riverside? Huge assumptions though, I just remember those communities didn't get it passed.
I was just talking to a law student who is clerking at my firm, she is going to University of Illinois, where I graduated from for law school 10 years ago (Yikes! 10 years ago = I am getting old) When I graduated, tuition for law school at U of I was $9k a year, it is now $35k a year! For a public institution. I believe tuition for law school at University of Michigan is even higher than that -- another public institution. To me that seems immoral, to take tax dollars and still charge in staters that much money. How the heck can kids pay back these loans? I am still paying for my education! College tuition is something I obsess about with 4 kids. Ugh.

It is always on my shoulder! I would love to post a picture but I can't find any on my work computer with all 4 together where they are all smiling.

Got your pacing shoes ready?
Got your food and drink requests in?

Nope, we're all Southsiders. :) My brother lives in Mokena, and my school district is Peotone, and neither passed their referendums. And the best thing about ours is that is was a no change for taxes. And the PTOs and volunteers campaigned and passed out flyers all over the place, making sure people understood that all the referendum was for was they wanted to change from working cash bonds to something else, something that would end up saving the district money in interest in the long run, and that nobody's taxes would go up. But for legal reasons, the district couldn't make the change without a voter referendum. And it didn't pass. Charming, huh?
I know New Lenox by me passed their referendum, but they're the only town in Will County that did this last midterm.

Got your pacing shoes ready?

I'll just have a coffee (black please) and hmm some kind of carb. No alcohol for me I need to be alert or my my fellow team mates will want to boot me off the team. Maybe after I finish the first shelf book and the free space read I could sneak a beer to celebrate.

My brother graduated from Northwestern with his tax law speciality...it was only like $50K for ONE year (for classes and room/board at NU in Chicago). He has HUGE student loans just for law school at Wayne State in Michigan and NU. He couldn't find a job with "just" his law degree. I think he owes over $150K for all of his law school. His wife even worked for NU while he went there and he didn't get a discount!
