hey guys. sorry, if im disrupting a conversation or anything. i just really want this group to become big because i luff Borders Book Store
yes, it was a sad way to die in my mind

There once was an apple who lived on a farm. He had many friends, one of which was a cow. Finnick died. The cow said, "MOO!" and the chickens were happy and laughed along with the apple.
OK, maybe not my best work. But you get the idea.

There once was an apple who lived on a ..."
haha love the cow story and i agree completely i mean couldnt she add a little emotion into his death? :)

So to answer your question... NO I didn't cry when Prim died. They way she died was sad yes, but could have been done some other way. At that point I was mourning the loss Katniss, the girl we had grown to love in books 1 and 2, not the limp puppet we were left with in 3. So much more could have been done for Prim's death as other's had mentioned - given it depth like Rue's.

Yeah... Its like saying Peeta wasn't a main character.

The author could just have easily made Katniss join the Hunger Games by having her name drawn. Furthermore, I always thought it was selfish that she allowed her sister to take her place. It was noble of Katniss to volunteer, but ultimately it was Prim's responsibility to take action for herself. Before you berate me for being insensitive, I would just like to point out that I did feel bad when Rue bit the proverbial dust. I thought her fighting nature was to be commended. :)

I would have rather had Katniss die, in some heroic way.
I loved the secondary characters more then the main character.
..."
I didn't cry. Didn't feel anything but confusion and disappointment. It was a cheap tactic in a bad book. As soon as Katniss went unconscious I thought: "Oooh. She's knocked out again. Now the plot can move forward again."
Love the author and all her books, except that one. I feel strongly about how disappointing Mockingjay was to me.

Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that. For me, as a reader, I just never truly bonded with that character. I felt she was weak and honestly not that memorable. I liked Rue because she made the best of what she had. She had no choice, but she turned out to be a strong survivor. Also, let's be honest, her death was much more poignant (at least to me). She fought to her last dying breath, and Prim let others dictate to her. Once again, I respect your opinion and I'm not trying to antagonize you, I promise! :D

Mee too! I didn't actualy was thinking of in crying I was angry ,yep!

I was more affected by Finnick. I teared up when he died, and absolutely bawled when Rue died.

p.s.
Finnicks death was tragic; yet it was so un-heroic that it seemed pointless to me.
HE DESERVED BETTER!
Poor Finnick.
:( STILL love the trilogy.

Agreed. I can see what she was going for. I guess I just wanted more.
Also I really missed Haymitch in this book. Did anyone else?? I don't think the new guy even needed to be in it. << Can't remember his name

great comment wolfie, we all have our own emotions and feelings. peoples reactions can't be wrong its like opinions we are have the right to our own opinions so stop bitching about how your comment is the only right smart ass

It's like you read my mind...thank you! Now I don't have to type all of that!
