I agree. I think for the way Katniss acted, she didn't deserve Gale or Peeta. I didn't like the 'battle' at the end much either, I think it would've been better if she just died heroically than that.

Beth Cook Not sure that I cried...but my jaw did indeed drop and I welled up a bit.

message 205: by [deleted user] (new)

yes, yes i did cry when she died. a shed a couple of tears...

message 206: by Sadie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sadie i didn't but i was extremely close! i couldn't believe it! my dad read the book before i did and when i was close he came in the room and asked me where i was and i told him. he told me i wasn't gonna like what happened next!

message 207: by maddie (new) - rated it 5 stars

maddie no but it was extremely sad. i didnt really expect it but everyone in my class kept telling me she would die at the end...a bunch of spoilers

message 208: by Jinny (new) - rated it 1 star

Jinny I didn't cry ... I actually wasn't sad, as Prim wasn't one of my favourite characters anyway. I was more shocked than anything, that she actually died. It felt like it happened a little too fast.

message 209: by Haley (new) - rated it 4 stars

Haley I can't remember if I cried or not. I cried when Rue died. Everyone keeps complaining that she killed off the main characters and ruined the last book. I don't think it ruined the last book at all. I think that it takes a lot of guts for an author to kill off popular characters. Not only that, they didn't die in vain - they died making a point... well... a lot of points. The last book was supposed to show the horrors and tragedies of war. Killing someone the reader cares about makes her point very vivid. I did think that it was kind of ironic that this whole series started with Katniss entering the games to protect her little sister and in the end her little sister died...

bookbrews No, I didn't cry. I actually missed it. When they talked about how Prim died afterward, I'm like, "Did I miss it? How?" That was so weirdly mentioned that I didn't know what to feel. Plus, I read somewhere on the HG fan page on Facebook (someone randomly said it w/o warning it as spoiler), so Prim's demise was sort of ruined for me. BUT I COULD NOT BELIEVE when kind Finnick died! IT WAS SO SAD! He was such a pure-hearted dude!

message 211: by maddie (new) - rated it 5 stars

maddie I KNOW!! I MISS HIM MAYB MORE THAN PRIM!! how weird because prims kinda what started this, if she hadnt been choosedfor the games in the first place, then katniss wouldnt have had to volunteer, DUH!!...but still yah i was sad

message 212: by Alisa (new) - rated it 3 stars

Alisa I didn't cry initially, but once Buttercup came into it... ah I lost it completely. But Finnick.. I was just really mad. Katniss and Peeta both ended up being completely broken by the end, which disappointed me, but I realize that if they were okay I probably would have been more annoyed, like, that would NEVER happen. Everyone lost so much. Prim was just the last straw for Katniss... She was what she was fighting for the whole time, so it just ended all the struggle. Until Peeta and her kids of course, that's a whole other fight.

message 214: by Finley (new) - rated it 3 stars

Finley Mac I didn't cry because her death was too unclear, I didn't even realize she died. Same with Finnick.

message 215: by Erika (new) - rated it 3 stars

Erika I cried so much when she died even though I was prepared because my friend had to tell me the ending.
I loved Prim and Finnick!

message 216: by Finley (new) - rated it 3 stars

Finley Mac Your friend told you the ending? Whose idea was that?

Jayda Dyment I cryed when finick died no joke i balled my eyes out why did collens kill him? i loved finick but i did also cry when prim died but not as much

message 218: by Finley (new) - rated it 3 stars

Finley Mac Like I said before, it didn't hit me because it was so poorly written.

message 219: by Graciela (new)

Graciela Marez WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD SHE KILL OFF SSSOOOO MANY CHARACTERS?? And finnick had a baby!! omg! like tahts supposed to make up for it?

message 220: by Graciela (new)

Graciela Marez I cried when Cinna died.....

message 221: by Finley (new) - rated it 3 stars

Finley Mac I know! Poor Finnick…  The best, most developed character in the series and he's killed of without a second glance? "Oh, he's dead, but that's not important, now moving on…" And I didn't even know Cinna died. Another one of those "Poof he's dead" things, I guess.

Yeah... When I read it, I was so confused because I didn't know if he had been beaten, killed, kidnapped... I thought it was going to be one of those things where you think he's dead but he comes out in the next book with some long story about what happened to him... but no :'(

message 223: by Finley (new) - rated it 3 stars

Finley Mac Fail. Suzanne Collins has turned into another Stephanie Meyer. Which is just what we need.

Graciela Marez Emily wrote: "if katniss woyld have died there wouldnt have been more books. thta would have takrn out the suspension."

Well yeah, but mockingjay was notorious for being the last book. I expected her to die. the ending was blah. It felt rushed you know? There was ONE sentence about finnick's baby...

message 225: by Graciela (new)

Graciela Marez It's kind of like the host because (view spoiler) I guess I was wrong about both books

Samantha I loved theese books how could I not; but in points it's just sad :( ...First with Rue and then Prim. I wonder how the author could cope with writing this

message 227: by Linda (new) - rated it 4 stars

Linda This title is such a spoiler!

I don't get how its a spoiler....

I totally agree you would think since prim was her sister that it would be a little more emotional like rue who she barely knew i mean like come on!

message 230: by Graciela (new)

Graciela Marez Yeah, I agree

message 231: by [deleted user] (new)

A lot...

message 232: by Finley (new) - rated it 3 stars

Finley Mac Here's how I remember Prim's death: She was on fire (I couldn';t even tell if this was another one of Katniss's stupid delusions) and then Katniss was knocked out (again) and someone was falling in water while the other was a bird trying to hold on. Come on, Collins! Rue's death made me extremely sad and Katniss wasn't even that close to her! AND THIS IS HER FREAKING SISTER!

message 233: by Linda (new) - rated it 4 stars

Linda Graciela wrote: "Linda wrote: "This title is such a spoiler!"

Well, I just mean, it isn't nice to know that who is going to die before you've read the book.

message 234: by Graciela (new)

Graciela Marez Oh! Ok I got it

message 235: by April (new) - rated it 4 stars

April no, i didn't cry.

message 236: by Graciela (new)

Graciela Marez Yeah, I didnt cry either

Stefanie Pristavu Nope, didn't cry because I was already too pissed at how many people died. I'd much rather Gale or Katniss died. Especially Katniss. I mean I liked her in the first two books, but in the third, she was mean, useless and way too emo for my taste.

And I hate what happened to Peeta and Finnick. They both deserved better.

message 238: by Graciela (new)

Graciela Marez I can't believe Finnick died!!

Nickolina I was very sad when Prim died and i did cry a little. It was soooooo sweet when Katniss sang that song. I mean how could you not cry?

Shreya=Drastically Random. Find the emoticon. I didn't cry. I was already too worn out after Collins tried WAY too hard to be dramatic and made the situation unrealistically bad. I kind of knew it was going to happen.

I think you are getting Prim and Rue mixed up dawg. Rue was in the Games while Prim was her sister...

Janet Jin No. By that point I didn't give a f*ck about any of the characters.

i agree. i was more sad when they killed off rue even though I knew she had to die at some point. but when Prim was killed I was like "what the hell????" made no sense since the whole reason kat got in the hunger games was to save prim
