Did you cry when prim died?

Read Pretty Birds. I dare you not to cry at the end.

I completely agree.

No way, I loved all the twists and unexpected turns. Sometimes I think that authors become too attached to characters. All the kill offs were in keeping with the theme of the book. How fragile life was in their world.

yes! i agree wholeheartedly! i loved how she wasn't afraid to just kill off the people tthat we loved. it was so fearless, and it made me sit on the edge of my seat every time :)

Yeah, I felt the same way for awhile but then I thought if I was 16 and going through all this then I would be upset too.

Not really? I didn't think her death was very descriptive or emotional, she just.... died
I didn't even realize she died until later

same here although i will admit it sure shocked me. but we never really knew Prim other than what we were TOLD to know about her so i didn't connect with her character at all

LOL! Has any books made you cry?

no. it happened too fast for me. like a certain other notable death in the book...
I didn't cry when Prim died, but I felt sad and disappointed. Isn't Prim a large part of what Katniss was fighting for?
This part killed me:
- “She’s not here,” I tell him. Buttercup hisses again. “She’s not here. You can hiss all you like. You won’t find Prim.”
At her name, he perks up. Raises his flattened ears. Begins to meow hopefully.
“Get out!” He dodges the pillow I throw at him. “Go away! There’s nothing left for you here!” I start to shake, furious with him. “She’s not coming back! She’s never ever coming back here again!”
I grab another pillow and get to my feet to improve my aim. Out of nowhere, the tears begin to pour down my cheeks. “She’s dead, you stupid cat. She’s dead.”

I LIKE ANNIE BUT NOT WHEN SHE DOESNT CARE ABOUT FINNICK DYING I MEAN SERIOUSLY sorry about the caps and i got a little worked up well, alot worked up XD

I definitely didn't see Prim's death coming, that was a surprise.

That part almost made me burst out in tears.

Wait… But wasn't Annie mentally unstable or something? I don't remember, it's been a while, but… I'm guessing that would have something to do with the uncaring attitude.
And it doesn't count as inappropriate language if it's blocked out. I'm just saying.

It's my favorite. It's very dark, grim, gritty and true, which makes me think Suzanne Collins was trying to give us all a lesson about what a real war might be like.
