I'm reading Untold Story: A Novel by Monica Ali. Tasty little "thriller light" about Princess Diana faking her death, moving to America and the paparazzi photographer who uncovers the secret.
I am reading The Shadow of the Wind and Russian Winter, both of which I am enjoying. I can already tell that The Shadow of the Wind is going to be fantastic, so I am going to read it slowly so I can savor it. Next I have to read Room for my book club, which I am not looking forward to. I have two young boys (4 and 2) so I am not sure I can handle it.
I just finished The Murderer's Daughtersand am moving on to Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back

i read The Book of Tomorrow from Cecelia Ahern this evening, and was slightly disappointed. it wasn't as engaging, or magical, as her other books. not a total wash, just not my favorite.not sure what i'll grab next. we're reading Wicked for the next library selection, so i may start that. i also have Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend so i may try that since it's smaller.
I just finished London: The Novel now I'm trying to figure out which of the library books that are almost due I should read next.
I'm reading the Master Butcher's Singing Club. Outstanding so far.Susanna, you're the second person who said that about Catcher in the Rye. Maybe it's one of those books that is less relevant now. Interesting.
Maria wrote: "Clara wrote: "Patricia wrote: "Yesterday, I started reading The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff. It's pretty interesting. It interweaves two stories. One is about Brigham Young's 19th wife, who brea..."The Historian is a fantastic read!
I'm half way thru Titus Groan and so far I just don't care for it. I hate to not finish a book but I don't know if I will this one.
Flora wrote: "I'm half way thru Titus Groan and so far I just don't care for it. I hate to not finish a book but I don't know if I will this one."Oh nooooo. It's still sitting on my TBR shelf. May be sitting there a very long time. LOL
I picked up The Tiger's Wife last night. It's due back at the library in two days, so I'm trying to read it quickly!

Doug, a friend of mine read it in high school almost ten years ago and loved it. But then again, I'm not in high school anymore, and I can't say for sure if I would have liked it even then.
I have a spreadsheet in format .pdf in which is the first chapter of the book "Tuesdays He liked best," It's really interesting book. Famous polish bestseller - conversation with Archbishop Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki now available in English on Amazon.com and jp2books.com. He had a weakness for cookies and Yasser Arafat. I finished The Beach, which I really enjoyed. Then I started It. This is my 3rd time through this one. I haven't read it in almost 20 years. This is my favorite King book. When I started reading it yesterday, I was getting the chills. This book scared the crap out of me when I first read it back in about '87. I think I was about 17 when I first read it.
I finished Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury which I really enjoyed. Now I'm reading The Maytrees by Annie Dillard. A slow start.

Finished The Devil's Queen: A Novel of Catherine de Medici. Also finished The First Rule. Started The Lost Quilter and The Scarlet Contessa: A Novel of the Italian Renaissance. Also reading The American Heiress.
Hey guys, I am reading Zazen and I think you all should run out and grab a copy of this right away!
Im about half way through and am in love with it. It's contains some of the best writing I have come across this year. It's prose is to-die-for. It's main character Della could be everyone....
Let me know if you end up checking it out!

Susanna wrote: "Did not enjoy The Catcher In The Rye much. Next I'm picking up The Stand, finally."I didn't like Catcher in the rye at all too, rather annoying.
Finished The Kitchen House last week and getting ready to start The Help. Though for some reason when everyone I know raves about a book it takes me forever to finally pick it up and read it. Had the Help sitting on my nightstand for 8 months or so and have never bothered to pick it up!

Sheila, I was the same way about The Help, but it really was as good as everyone says. How was The Kitchen House? It's been on my TBR for a while.
Just started 2666 and I'm thinking about starting The Plantagenet Prelude now.Sheila, I was hesitant about reading The Help, but I really ended up enjoying it. I hope you do too.
I'm currently read the 2nd Thursday Next book, Lost in a Good Book by Jasper Fforde. The first in the series, The Eyre Affair, I listened to on iPod over a year ago, so it's been a little difficult to get into the alternate world again, but after 170 pages I'm starting to enjoy it. If I was British and better read I'd probably get more of the jokes.
I was, and still am, going through a dystopian stage in my reading habits and just finished up "Birth Marked" by Caragh M. O'Brien, "The Reapers Are the Angels" by Alden Bell and "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy but I felt the need for something a little lighter so I've picked up Tina Fey's autobiography "Bossypants" and began it this afternoon. ^_^
I've taken summer beach reading seriously and am reading the first volume of
and finished
. Am really looking forward to
.
Doug wrote: "Hi Olivia. How do you put the bookcovers into the blog? Is the series similar to Stephanie Meyers?"Hi Doug. There's a link at the top of the comment box as you're typing that reads "add book/author." Click on that to add covers or links.
Vampire Academy is much sassier and sexier than Twilight, I'd say, maybe less romantic as well. Switched and Torn are part of the Trylle Trilogy, and don't have anything to do with vampires. But it is a paranormal romance and a lot of fun. Also, the author Amanda Hocking is great e-book success story.
Duh, LOL. Thanks. I just read your profile. You are an author of a published book with great reviews!! Awesome. I'll check it out.

I finished The Maytrees by Annie Dillard. I really wasn't crazy about the style of writing, characters or the story line. Oh well. Next I'll read Body Surfing by Anita Shreve.
Rayna wrote: "I picked up The Tiger's Wife last night. I just finished The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and now I'm reading Second Summer of the Sisterhood.
not sure when i was last in here, but i've finished Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend by Robert James Waller. it was ok, not my usual read though.i'm more than halfway through The Doctor and The Diva from Adrienne McDowell. it's interesting, and a unique story to boot.
just finished Men of the Otherworld By Kelley Armstrong and Casper the Commuting Cat By Susan Finden
