We need to have another book hangout soon! The last one was so fun! How is everyone's summer looking?

No, Jennifer! Will you still be able to come to Booktopia in Vermont next year? How will I get my hug? I promise I'm remembering your name this time!

I definitely plan to work Booktopia into one of my trips home next year. I was so disappointed to have to miss the Oxford trip but that weekend was when my husband left and I couldn't tell him to take the bus to the airport while I went on a book retreat (although I considered it!!)
Linda, I"m looking at Jennifer's move as an opportunity. Not sure if you know this, but she is a dynamite literary event planner. So who knows what may happen if there is a BOTNS friend living in England...

That's right, Ann - I can be your coordinator for a UK Booktopia!

Now, I know it's the day before a holiday, and so people might be busy, but what would people think about July 3rd? We can meet at Harvard again, or we can try someplace new. Thoughts?

So, Ann and Michael, now that you have one non-New-England Booktopia under your belts, are you ready to try an English Booktopia in 2013? I'm sure Simon & Gavin would love to have an influx of Booktopians so they don't have to fly to America!
Joanne - I'm tempted, but we might need to fund it through a kickstarter since we don't have a travel budget for that! :)

Jennifer how exciting! Love England!! Keep us up to date on what the Brits are reading!

Jennifer, I am SO excited for you! To be in the land of Jane Austen, Susan Hill, Downton Abbey, and Simon and Gav, you are going to have the adventure of a lifetime! Congratulations and can't wait to hear about your experiences--and books! :-))

Please do a booktopia UK in Oxford (the other Oxford!). I love that city. We could tour the Bodlein Library and the OUP in addition to all the university and Inklings sites. It's just a 45 minute bus ride from London airports.

As for another get together on July 3rd... it might work if my guitar class is going to be cancelled for the week of the 4th of july! I will let you know! :D

Tickets are $12, and we need to come up with a team name (there is a prize for best team name).

And Vanessa, I am one of those ebook fans - though do still love print. Simply tired of schlepping bags of books with me everywhere I go - though if you were to follow me around with my TBR books I might dump my ereader :-)

I was wondering where you were! Sorry you missed it and we missed you, but I envy your move to England. I can see it already Booktopia in Oxford, or Winchester (Jane Austen). I'm in!

Dianne,
I never got you to sign my book last weekend (I did look for you at the final discussion). I'll be in NYC next weekend, but it will be a hit and run - in on Friday night and out on Sunday.

I"m not sure if I will be able to make the July 3rd event, but it's not looking very promising.
Literary Trivia might be possible, though! How many do we need on a team?
Also, I will be attending Emily St. John Mandel's reading at Porter Square Books in Cambridge on July 26th at 7pm, if any of you want to meet up before or after. Emily is one of those "underappreciated women writers," and she's great.

I'd have to recommend Porter Square Books, one stop north on the Red line from Harvard Square stop (about 2 miles north). Of course, Harvard Square has the COOP, which is easy to find, right outside the subway stop. There is also Barnes & Noble's flagship store in Copley Plaza.
Also Harvad Bojstore, which is an ndependent bkstore located in Harvard Square. Different from the Harvard Coop, and a fabulous book.

I think we should try to get Simon and Gav to come to the Boston Book Festival and make a whole reading frenzy sort of weekend out of it for listeners of both the podcasts...maybe we could start a "donation fund" if they're strapped for cash? Imagine the possibilities!

Hi, I'd love to join you on the 3rd if that's alright. If so, do I need to have read a certain book or bring anything with me or is it just a get-together for the fun of it?

The more the merrier Jaime. No particular book - we simply get together and gab about what we are currently reading, what we love, what we do not recommend, etc.
