Susan I love both. But it is easy to say the The Host is, was and always will be better than twilght. It took 4 books to prefect Twilight. But it took just one for The Host.

Laëtitia TWILIGHT WITHOUT HESITATION ! I GOT SO BORED READING THE HOST THAT I GAVE UP READING IT ! SORRY

Dominus~ You should have waited until the end. It's quite a NICE BOOK. No, not quite! It's a GREAT BOOK except the first parts...

message 204: by Bez (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bez i honestly adored reading the whole book, the begininning didnt really bore me

message 205: by Nicole (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nicole The Host was definitely a better written piece of work. I LOVE Twilight, but I enjoy watching Stephenie Meyer grow as an author. I believe her writing gets better with each book. Let's not forget; Twilight was a young adult novel and her first attempt at writing. The Host was an adult novel and she had more practice writing by the time she published The Host. So, yes i believe The Host was the better novel.

message 206: by Lisa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lisa definetely the host! i actually really enjoyed that book!

Mckenzie Twilight, it has so much more depth and is written better.

Mckenzie Karen wrote: "I liked both but I can say that I would read The Host again. Twilight was good but once was enough for me. You can really see an improvement in Stephenie Meyer's writing skills in The Host and it..."

kristen stewart is not bella. the book was before the movie and how ever you saw bella before the movie is how you should see her. I read the books and how I see bella is not the same as the character in the movie and honestly I like my version of bella way better than kristen stew.

The Host! She needs to turn it into a series but got caught up in Twilight. Meyer probably doesn't even know she wrote the Host. Haha!

Nicole Annie wrote: "The Host! She needs to turn it into a series but got caught up in Twilight. Meyer probably doesn't even know she wrote the Host. Haha!"

She actually doesn't want to continue The Host because she said she would have to kill people off and she doesn't want to do that.

I was kidding. I don't care why she doesn't want to continue the Host. If what you say is true, that is a waste of talent. I doubt she will write anything else, since she hasn't already. If she does it will probably be something stringing from Twilight. Boo.

message 212: by Emily (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emily Although I do enjoy them both, the Host wins by a landslide. It's more inventive, and Stephanie's writing skills shine more in that book than Twilight.

message 213: by Karla (new) - rated it 5 stars

Karla BookAddict2 the Host... hands down!!!

message 214: by Emily (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emily Bailey The Host!!! I've read the Twilight series as well, but just re-read The Host and still think it's much better. :) I even convinced my mom to read The Host, and she was against it because she hates the Twilight craze. She liked The Host, too. I think it speaks to much a larger group of people - what guys admit to reading Twilight? The Host could be read by guys.

message 215: by Nicole (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nicole Nevicosi The Host is sooo much better! I just loved the plot. And I agree with others, that Host is better than twilight. But, for me, the movies ruined twilight for me. I totally hope they never make a Host movie. There is no way they can make a movie that fits everyones mental picture. I think that, if they made a movie, it would just be a disappointment, like the twilight movies were.

message 216: by Diana (new) - rated it 5 stars

Diana The host is much much better than twilight !!!

message 217: by Jezka (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jezka The Host!

message 218: by Irina (new) - rated it 5 stars

Irina The host every time.. I had no idea Meyer could write like that!

message 219: by Kat (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kat The Host. Twilight Saga SUCKED!!!!

message 220: by [deleted user] (new)

i enjoyed both books, but it did take me a while to get into THE HOST, the THE HOST had more in it then just love.

Kirsten Host and Twilight are such different stories, different tone and even style. I highly recommend The Host to people who have only read Twilight. It definitely gave more depth to the author, Stephanie Meyers in my eyes.

Lucille The Host. Twilight can't even compete with it.

Kirsten Kirsten wrote: "Host and Twilight are such different stories, different tone and even style. I highly recommend The Host to people who have only read Twilight. It definitely gave more depth to the author, Stephani..."

Wow! Nice to see so many people agree about The Host. Reader comments were wonderful.

message 224: by Jen (new) - rated it 1 star

Jen Twilight. Totally.

Torie Marielle † Yelle ♥ Cameron Briel † wrote: "You should have waited until the end. It's quite a NICE BOOK. No, not quite! It's a GREAT BOOK except the first parts..."

I was actually not satisfied at the ending as much as I wanted to be. I found the beginning, middle, and end to be rather boring.

vasiliki well they are completely different books and i found host a bit boring so twilight-hands down!!:]

message 227: by Carls (new) - rated it 5 stars

Carls Both the host and the twilight series are wonderful books but I most definately think the host was a better book. I loved them both and really can't say any bad things about them.

Kimberly Kuniko The Host. Much better writing, originality, character development, and plot.

message 229: by Monisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Monisa Ahmed the host.... OF COURSE!!!!!

message 230: by Kat (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kat I'm conflicted! I liked both but The Host should have got the movie deal.

message 231: by Joanne (new) - rated it 4 stars

Joanne I think The Host was a lot better than Twilight. It was more mature for one thing and I'm not a teenager any more so I'm way past all the teen angst. Also, the teenagers in the Twilight series are so 'good'. There's no smoking, no drinking, no drug use, no swearing. I can't think of any teenagers like that but maybe they are real in SM's world.

I noticed that too. And quite frankly I can't really see why Edward was so attracted to Bella (aside from the smell of her blood). She was such a boring, one dimensional character. She wasn't into music, had no hobbies and her remarks were always bland and lacked amiable personality and character. How can Edward, who was over 100 years old and had seen the world, find her to be "the one"?

message 233: by Larissa (new) - rated it 1 star

Larissa The host for sure (:

message 234: by Gayle (new) - rated it 3 stars

Gayle No contest for me. Twilight. So, I guess I beg to differ.

Kirsten Gayle wrote: "No contest for me. Twilight. So, I guess I beg to differ."

For the open minded, its still great that people have different opinions AND aren't afraid to express them.

Bella liked music, she had a fondness for classical music and she enjoyed reading. Her remarks were usually sarcastic and she was sometimes rather funny, in my opinion.

message 238: by Eline (new) - rated it 4 stars

Eline Madison wrote: "host definatley!"

Indeed. The host is so much better than the whole Twilight-saga. I would so recommand it to Twilight-haters.

message 239: by Jihaad (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jihaad Albayaty the host definitely

message 240: by Rachel (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rachel I agree with Emily...Hands down, The Host.

Hasnaa The host hands down!

message 242: by Emily (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emily Trochelman I was a die hard Twilight fan... until I read The Host! I love the depth that was put into this story and I can still read it over and over with great joy. This is definitely one of her best works!

message 243: by [deleted user] (new)

to be honest, i read all 4 twilight books. as 4 the Host...i abandoned it. but after reading this blog...i feel like i should pick it back up...what do u guys think? but for the record, im pretty sure i only read all the twilights because of all the publicity. anyways, about the host...

message 244: by Monisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Monisa Ahmed The Host rocks all the way!!

message 245: by Emily (new) - rated it 4 stars

Emily I think the host is much better, my reasoning for this is that The host is a very orginal idea you dont see many books about this subject compaired to the 100s of books you see about vampires, It gave me so much more respect for Stephine Meyer as a writer, I did enjoy twilight dont get me wrong, but this is so much more enjoyable

message 246: by Gayle (new) - rated it 3 stars

Gayle I think perhaps one of the factors for liking one book over the other is perhaps in what order you read the books and when you read them.

I think I loved Twilight so much more because I read it prior to reading The Host and I also read Twilight before reading any other vampire books, so it was ground breaking for me.

message 247: by Katie (new) - rated it 5 stars
