I couldn't stop reading and was drawn into all the characters. This wasn't about destruction and death but about the struggle to keep family together and do the right thing. I'm eager to read the next one which is already out in hardback.

Theo Finished Make Lemonade (Make Lemonade, #1) by Virginia Euwer Wolff . It was my first "novel in verse" and the format took some getting used to, but overall I was won over by the beautiful pictures the author created with her words and the honest emotions she imparted to her characters.
