Holly | 108 comments ok so a few of us came up with this and thought it would be fun. here are the rules:
******1. when you post you first need to pick a book for the person above you to read next. you HAVE TO have read at least 1 of their 5 so you can choose for them. (if you havent read the books please dont post yet and wait for a list with books you have read!)

******2. under your book suggestion -list your 5 books that you are considering reading

******3. watch for the next post under yours to see what book will be your next one to read.

happy reading!

Holly | 108 comments ok i'll start, since i'm the first i won't get to recommend a book :( but someone can pick one for me :)

here are my 5:
ink exchange Ink Exchange (Wicked Lovely, #2) by Melissa Marr hex hall Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins infinite days Infinite Days (Vampire Queen, #1) by Rebecca Maizel hunger games The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins
city of bones City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Ive read Ink exchange, hunger games and city of bones. I love the mortal instruments but i would recommend the Hunger games! It took me so long to actually buy and read it, but i totally loved it and couldn put it down!

My next 5: (after the one i just started) (they are not all YA)

Lover Unbound
Inside Out
Forsaken
Nightshade
The Warrior Heir

message 4: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Wait... Im confused. Are you listing the 5 books you're thinking about reading and we pick one from that list? Or are you listing 5 books you've read that you liked and someone is picking a book based on your tastes?

message 5: by Holly (new)

Holly | 108 comments you list 5 you ARE CONSIDERING reading and the person below you gets to pick your next book to read. when you post you need to pick a book (that you have read) from the post above you- for that person to read next. did that help?

message 6: by Holly (new)

Holly | 108 comments i started and the person below me chose for me to read the hunger games next.

message 7: by Gwennie (last edited Apr 06, 2011 08:56AM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Totally makes sense now, I'm with you!

Unfortunately I can't go next because I've only read one of Louise's books.

BTW, you're in for a treat. She picked very well, Hunger Games is excellent.

well i think i'll change the rules -to at least 1 book so we can keep the posting going- go ahead and pick one for Louise

message 9: by Claudia (last edited Apr 06, 2011 12:10PM) (new)

Claudia (claudiavstoomanybooks) In response to Louise:
I've read Lover Unbound and Nightshade. I absolutely loved Nightshade, so you have to read that next.

My five:
Ship Breaker (Ship Breaker, #1) by Paolo Bacigalupi The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #3 ) by Rick Riordan White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi Clarity by Kim Harrington Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John

message 10: by Heidi (last edited Apr 06, 2011 07:32PM) (new)

Heidi Catie I pick Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1) by Juliet Marillier for you since she is the featured author and I loved that book.

Up next for me I have

Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King Hate List by Jennifer Brown The Fiddler's Gun by A.S. Peterson The Agony of Alice (Alice, #1) by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor or Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon .

message 11: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Catie wrote: "Yay! It's like 12 challenges wrapped up in one book, LOL."

score!

message 12: by Jessica (new)

Jessica This is the opposite of what I thought it would be, for some reason I thought it was going to be you recommend five books to someone and they have to read one. That would be more difficult though, because you wouldn't know what everyone has read.

I have to wait until a new post, because I haven't read any of Heidi's books.

message 13: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I haven't either, hahaha.

message 14: by Brandi (new)

Brandi I'm waiting too. :)

message 15: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Ok I changed one of my choices from my tbr pile (hint hint Wendy)

message 16: by Laraine (new)

Laraine (lala26) | 121 comments Heidi I wrote: "Ok I changed one of my choices from my tbr pile (hint hint Wendy)"

Lol I'm waiting for Wendy to get the hint too Heidi, I know exactly which book it's going to be hahaha... :D

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I laughed at Outlander too until I saw that it had been changed after Wendy looked at it.

I'll second the Outlander love. Fabulous book, but you have to be in the mood for it because it's very lengthy and not a light read.

message 18: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Not a light read at all. The audio was pretty good, btw Heidi if you do it that format. I really enjoyed the narrator. Thought she did a pretty good job as Clair and she actually did the Scottish brogue quite well too. Just be aware that it's at least 30 discs if not longer.

message 19: by Heidi (last edited Apr 07, 2011 06:34AM) (new)

Heidi Becca wrote: "Not a light read at all. The audio was pretty good, btw Heidi if you do it that format. I really enjoyed the narrator. Thought she did a pretty good job as Clair and she actually did the Scottish b..."

Yes. Thanks for the warning. I have a hold on it at the library (it is 28 disks!) Someone is taking forever to return it because it has been at least a month.

message 20: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Oh man, Heidi. Of course I pick Outlander! I spread the love! I was reading scenes the other night and kissing the pages. Definitely definitely Outlander. (With one rule, you must love it, heehee. I'm joking... mostly, hahahaha.)

Hmmm, okay, my five books are....

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler The Amulet of Samarkand (Bartimaeus Trilogy, #1) by Jonathan Stroud Everlost (Skinjacker, #1) by Neal Shusterman Crazy by Han Nolan

The best part of this new game is that I can choose of books I've already bought and really want to read, but for some reason or another keep procrastinating.

Question for Holly, since she started this, do we have to promise to read it as our exact next book? Because I just got the new Michael Grant, haha, and I was going to read this after that one... I won't though, if it's against the rules.

message 21: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I just want to add that it's funny how you all know how rabid I am over Outlander... I must be pretty darn obvious!

Lastly (I'll stop hogging the thread), this is a great way for people to get idea's for new books to read too, because I'm pretty interested in Please Ignore Vera Dietz and Hate List.

message 22: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Darn I wish I could go now because I loved Crazy (it is not an easy read though). I feel like Catie did!

message 23: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Wendy, I choose Everlost! Great series, can't wait for the last one to come out.

My Five:

Leviathan (Leviathan, #1) by Scott Westerfeld The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger or Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

message 24: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Becca if you can get Soulless on audiobook. I love the narrator. Sorry to keep interjecting here :)

message 25: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) I started Everlost on audio. It seemed very middle grade so I stopped. I assume it's get better since a ton of people love it. Should I give it a second chance? Book or audio.

Just ignore this post Holly ;)

message 26: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Rofl! I love you all! I plan on reading all of these books in the near future Catie, so no worries, I'll get there. I'll definitely check out the audio of Soulless if I can find it Heidi. And yes Peep! It is worth it to keep going. It is directed at a slightly younger audience, I'd say mid-teens, but the story and characters are definitely one an adult can enjoy. Plus the real villian in the series is just so fantastic it makes me shiver. I would love to get your reaction when you get to that twist. I did the audio for both Everlost and Everwild, and both were very very good.

message 27: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Thanks Becca! I'm going to see about downloading the audio when I'm done with my current audiobooks.

message 28: by Holly (new)

Holly | 108 comments Question for Holly, since she started this, do we have to promise to read it as our exact next book? Because I just got the new Michael Grant, haha, and I was going to read this after that one... I won't though, if it's against the rules.

haha, Wendy if you read books as fast as most of us do in this group i'm sure it doesnt really matter. hunger games might not be my exact next one either as i have an ebook of ink exchange downloaded on my computer and only get it for 2 weeks. which is plenty enough time if i wasnt in the middle of a 500 pg book right now. there needs to be more time in the day, sigh.

message 29: by Holly (new)

Holly | 108 comments Heidi I wrote: "Becca if you can get Soulless on audiobook. I love the narrator. Sorry to keep interjecting here :)"

heidi: is that series worth reading? i saw alot of mixed reviews. its on my to read list but not very high up as of right now. a penny for your thoughts?

message 30: by Gwennie (last edited Apr 07, 2011 01:02PM) (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) awesome, so it looks like I'm forcing myself through Sweet Valley Confidential and then reading Plague, followed by Everlost. Yay!

I'm actually thisclose to quitting SVC. I really really WANT to enjoy it, but... I'm just not!

I liked the first book more than the second and I have not gotten to the third book yet. I think the audio really adds to my star rating with the series. I gave book one 4 stars and book 2 3 stars. It is not life changing, but an ok series to read.

Nikki (aka Quinn) | 69 comments Becca.. I don't know if someone actually picked or not... I will pick The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan sweet little read

my five are...
Wither (Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano The Thief (The Queen's Thief, #1) by Megan Whalen Turner Gone (Gone, #1) by Michael Grant Assassin's Apprentice (Farseer Trilogy, #1) by Robin Hobb Unwind (Unwind, #1) by Neal Shusterman

message 33: by Jessica (last edited Apr 07, 2011 04:01PM) (new)

Jessica Okay Nikki, I pick The Thief for you (you should also read the other books in the series, because they get even better).

My five:
Cybele's Secret by Juliet Marillier White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly

It was kind of hard for me to come up with five. I think it might be because I generally have an idea of what I want to read next.
