I'm thinking of changing my goal. I counted AT LEAST 100 books I added between March & June 2010 to my shelf & going for only 20 seems kind of half-assed. That's me! The underachiever!
Thanks, Alycia! =) I think it is too, considering that a lot of the unread books from March-June 2010 are unread for a reason! LOL!@ UM: Yeah...I could probably read more than 20 in 3 months. But do I want to? I can always up the goal if I finish too soon, right?
It's YOUR challenge, Lethal! Read as many or as few as you like. I was just pointing out that there's more time to decide.
LOL! I know it's my challenge...for the most part. I guess I'm just used to having rules. Read 10 books in a series. Read 14 books with a red cover. Knowing that I'm creating my own challenge makes a little O_O.
I'm sorry! I used to have both restricted and un-restricted challenges, but it seemed that for the most part, the un-restricted were the most popular, in this group, anyway.
Oh, don't apologize! I'm not complaining. I think these unrestricted challenges are fantastic & a great idea for those who don't usually participate in them. I'm just not used to not having a mod/member tell me what to do for a challenge. I actually have to use my mind & my mind is on autopilot these days.

The relaxed structure is what I love about Dhestiny's challenges. I am commitment phobic and horribly indecisive, but I can play these by ear, although I've already started going through my book collection to find "Spring-like" books. :)
It's surprisingly hard for me to commit to a certain book then follow through with it, so these challenges help me make goals that are attainable instead of beating myself up for not being able to finish.I'm glad I'm not alone!

Wee! Another challenge! I'm in! Would think on this though...maybe tomorrow I'll have my list ready!
UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "It's surprisingly hard for me to commit to a certain book then follow through with it, so these challenges help me make goals that are attainable instead of beating myself up for not being able to ..."That's why I have problems with challenges where you have to finish all the categories. Sometimes I really don't feel like reading a book and I hate to do it for a challenge.
D.G. wrote: "That's why I have problems with challenges where you have to finish all the categories. Sometimes I really don't feel like reading a book and I hate to do it for a challenge. "Exactly!!! That, and there's something about knowing that I "have" to read a book that makes me batty! Even if I had that book sitting beside me, ready to read it next, if someone tells me I have to read it, (even if it's myself telling me so) I just can't do it!

Say...does it matter if there is no set number of books for the challenge? Per se, so long as one reads the books for the challenge during its duration as well as fitting the challenge "boundaries" will it count?I have an idea.....
Nope, it's YOUR challenge - YOU decide. And you don't have to decide ahead of time, you can choose as you go.
My goodness, I have holes to plug in several series. The biggest being Christine Feehan's Ghost Walkers series. I've done a hit and miss. Man-oh-man, I love her, but she is a little wordy. I think I'm going to listen to some via audio book in order to do some Spring Cleaning. I like to listen to mysteries that way.
I just finished
and LOVE Kane and Rose. It was refreshing to have a couple who don't fight the pairing!
Lisa Kay wrote: "My goodness, I have holes to plug in several series. The biggest being Christine Feehan's Ghost Walkers series. I've done a hit and miss. Though I will say, I do adore her series, more so in several than in others.
Plus, there are a few of her series that I still have to catch up on...though not the Ghost Walkers. I'm caught up with that one. As for the others...
UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "I just finished

I'm sorry but I'm going to drop out of this challenge. Too much is going on in RL & I already signed up for more challenges than is probably advisable. I'm off to delete my post on page 1.Have fun, everyone!

Thanks :). I wish I could've found more books that have anything to do with spring but there's not too many out there :P. At least the first in the list is relevant. :)

Oooh, I've been thinking about the challenge, and this is what I've decided:I'M IN.
Learning my lesson from the previous challenge, I've decided the perimeters of what I'll be doing for this challenge.
[Very loosely] the primary perimeter would be: Spring Cleaning.
I'm not going to put a limit on myself as to how many books I'll be reading this season (due to life's intrusions). So how many books I'll be reading for this season will be my limit. How many I'll read will be up to the time I'll be able to read them, whenever that will be. Thus, it will be like this: ?/? for me.
Now as to the other perimeters for this challenge...
Spring Cleaning:
May be covers in spring colors and/or have images of flowers/clouds/rain/rainbow/etc.
May be titles that reminds of spring.
May be published in March/April/May/June of any year.
May be a series that had been already started, a series/book from one of the authors in my bookshelf/TBR pile/read from before.
May be other perimeters that I hadn't think about but fits the primary perimeter and the challenge.
[Thanks, UMD, for the ideas/examples. Greatly appreciated.]
I probably set myself up to a "loose" perimeter of the challenge, but I'm setting myself to be as productive as I want to be during this season. Thus, the "loose" perimeters I set for myself.

If you're having trouble choosing which books to read, remember, this is a Spring challenge and you get to design it your way, which means that just the fact you're reading it during the spring would make a book qualify if you wanted it to.
