I'm so sorry about it Deborah. When you mentioned it last week, I was hoping it won't come to that. I'm sending you my thoughts.

I'm going to open the summary thread sometime tomorrow, hopefully just before the event ends at 10 am Pacific time. Can't wait to see the final lists and totals!

1. Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry (5 stars) - satisfies Challenge #1
Going to start The Kite Runner next, Challenge #6.

Nancy, I really liked Rot & Ruin. I feel attached to the characters and look forward to the sequel. One of the quotes on the back of the book states that it "has heart" and I would totally agree.

I didn't do good on the mini-challenges, but I finished up all my various in progress books that needed to be done by the end of the month, plus an ARC that I needed to finish (now I have to write the review) and one more book still in progress...overall, a productive week, I think - might have been better if i didn't have schoolwork to do :(

Did you like Ghost Map? It's in my pile too.
i did...it was an interesting read about how John Snow tracked the disease and had the proof, but that so many people back them believed the disease caused by smell theory...the conclusion was interesting, talking about now with biological warfare how easy it would be to resurrect some of these diseases and how many they would kill
