I cannot believe I stayed up so late finishing my #7 book for the Read-a-thon: The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. This book is so intriguing that I could not stop reading it and just had to stay up late and finish it! This was from Vanessa's shelf, so it counts for the #6 mini-challenge. So far I have done #2, #6, and #7.

You guys have all done so well this week! I can't believe we're almost at the end of this first readathon. I'm so tempted to stretch it out further!I'm going to open the summary thread sometime tomorrow, hopefully just before the event ends at 10 am Pacific time. Can't wait to see the final lists and totals!

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I have only finished my first book. Just been a non-reading week. First book was great though.1. Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry (5 stars) - satisfies Challenge #1
Going to start The Kite Runner next, Challenge #6.
Nancy wrote: Margie, Let me know how you like Rot & Ruin when you are done. I just saw it on next year's list for my Young Adults in one of the reading programs, and I was wondering how it is. Thanks. Nancy, I really liked Rot & Ruin. I feel attached to the characters and look forward to the sequel. One of the quotes on the back of the book states that it "has heart" and I would totally agree.

Did you like Ghost Map? It's in my pile too.
i did...it was an interesting read about how John Snow tracked the disease and had the proof, but that so many people back them believed the disease caused by smell theory...the conclusion was interesting, talking about now with biological warfare how easy it would be to resurrect some of these diseases and how many they would kill
