Oh, yeah! Many of my stories start the same way: I want to get into the book and 'fix' things. I want the protagonist's abusive personality to be a mask of vulnerability or a secondary character to acquire a magical lipstick. I often think: what if it didn't go the way the author pointed but in the opposite direction.

Read it years ago. From my recollection, it was a good diary read.

We need more hours in the day for reading!

We definitely do! Other things should be able to sort themselves rather than requiring being done and infringing on precious reading time!!

So far I'm not really enjoying On Chesil Beach. I don't know how it got nominated for a Booker Prize. And I'm loving the other two.

I really enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird.

Found out I can read books on e-readers when I'm on the train - this is new to me and boy did I make the most of it this weekend, I only started this book on the train up Friday :D
I decided it was time to read The Iron Daughter as I read in the first in the series ages ago.
The MC started getting on my nerves almost immediately. I didn't recall her being so annoying in the first book - I'm sure I wouldn't have put it on my series-to-be-followed shelf if she was. Mind you, I have read an awful lot of YA PNR since then so my tolerance for whiny heroines might be significantly lower... Anyway, I'm persevering and at least the pace is starting to pick up now. :)

I just bought this for free off my Kobo. I've never read it before. Hopefully I'll enjoy it!

I love it! Just a warning tho', it does all come across through letters and diary entries, but you do start to forget that pretty quickly.

I'm really enjoying The Pillars of the Earth so far, but the length of it is still a tad intimidating, in a good way ;D

That's one of my all time favorites! Definately keep at it! Did you ever see the mini-series they did on it?

I really enjoyed that one and I just finished
which was fun too - practically spent all of yesterday reading it!
Moving on to
tonight to finish off that series. Though I haven't read the two novellas Winter's Passage or Summer's Crossing but from comments I've seen they are just filler stories and not vital to the series as a whole...

I really enjoyed that one and I just finished

Moving on to

For now, to give myself a respite from literary, I started to re-read (for the umpteenth time) one of Jayne Ann Krentz's novels, Family Man. I love her books, especially the ones written between 1990 and 2007. They are invariable good, easy read. I know what it's about and how it will end, and I still enjoy it.
