Young Adult Fiction for Adults discussion
What are you reading now?
Just finished
. First half a bit slow, but picked up in the last few chapters. Can't wait for the last book on 7 December.Have started
based on comments in group. Also started
last week. different to the paranormal novels I normally read, but a very good book.
I finished The Ask and the Answer, really enjoyed it, review here : http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/... I really want to read the third book but I think I need a little break (and I also don't want the adventure to finish soon :P) so I think I'll finish The Graveyard Book, plus it's a quick read.
Finished The Burning by R.L. Stine now reading Bitten: Dangerous Girls & Taste Of The Night by R.L. Stine

yesterday. Meehhh, wasn't very good. I'm about to write a long, ranting review of it. *Rubs hands together*Oh Brigid, I so agree. I thought I Am Number Four was just awful. There's supposed to be a movie coming out based on it. (sorry, didn't mean to scare you ;)
finished
and
today.. both were pretty good. Now I'm having trouble deciding what to read next! It will be my 100th and final book for my challenge this year so I want it to be something great! My choices are:

Really liked it! But was a very unhappy book to read last night."
Hi Cassi I finished that series not to long ago and I loved it! I hope you loved the rest of it :)
Cassi wrote: "Started
last night."I loved this series. It's fun and enjoyable to read, at least to me it was. I enjoyed the whole series and was really quick to read as well.
I've barely started it. This week is my church play so I go to work, come home, eat, then have like 3 hours of practice. Tonight is our off night (Wednesday night church and I never go). The plan is to read and knit.
Right now I am reading "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia and Maragret Stohl. There were mixed reviews when I first checked it out to decide whether or not to stick it on my Kindle, but I'm glad I got it. Definitely planning on getting the sequel as well. It's like Romeo and Juliet. Except with witchcraft. What can I say, I'm a sucker for paranormal YA romance novels.
Yes, I have had some negative thoughts as I went through-- such as, a male protagonist should definitely think like a male. Sometimes Ethan does and sometimes he's catty, talking in detail about girl's outfits and colors, how one is dressed like she's ready for a wedding and the other's skirt is too short... But overall I really enjoyed it and STRONGLY identify with Lena's character. It's a beautiful story, at its root, I believe.
But I'm still a little over halfway into "Beautiful Creatures." So I'll let you know, when I'm done with "Beautiful Darkness," how it was!
Darya wrote: "Right now i'm reading a french book named SORTILEGE. IT's an interesting story . The main story is based a little on THE beauty and the beast. But for YA. IT's pretty good."Your sure it's french ? I googled it and found that it was translated into french (by one of our worst translators besides but that's not the topic :3)
I'm still working on
. I just read
again, and I am also listening to
on audio.
just came in at the library for me, but I'm really not all that excited to read it. I'm not sure why I requested it, I didn't find Hush, Hush all that great.
Cresendo wasn't better or worse then Hush Hush, it just kept going without any dips or rises, a straight line.Though I do like Patch.
Hmm, I've got Crescendo on request too, though I wasn't overly impressed with Hush Hush! Ah well, as long as it's not terrible, I'll read it.Just finished
, was good fun. Also re-read
quickly this afternoon, which cheered me up after trudging around in the snow all morning! Now starting
and continuing with
.

is one of my favorite series. I love Dru's rude sarcastic attitude.

Maybe I will just forget it then. I have enough books to read as it is ; ) My TRL is not getting any smaller.
**teeny tiny SPOILERYou wouldn't be missing anything amazing, lol. here's a 10 second rundown...

Ha! Super glad I have skipped this series. I think I would have hated it.

Heidi I wrote: "Hey...isn't the first Mediator called Shadowland? How come your copy is called Love You to Death? "That's the UK version, it would seem; here the covers/titles are all different. That's what my library copy looks like!
Hahaha, thanks. Funny how you could take the same review and put it in place for Hush Hush too... though Maybe with only 1-2 'Nora sucks'.

Love that book, Lloyd!

I'm still reading

Maybe it also has something to do with all the holiday madness?

I was sick for a few days as well, which was horrible! I can't concentrate on reading when I am sick and with the holidays that just adds to it all.
Just finished
today <3Now I am reading
Although I'll probably end up reading
tomorrow since I don't think Beautiful Darkness will fit in my backpack. lol.

I really enjoyed it and want to read more by Christopher. The whole Stockholm Syndrome angle was really disturbing.
