I really enjoyed it and want to read more by Christopher. The whole Stockholm Syndrome angle was really disturbing.

Have started Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick based on comments in group. Also started Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger last week. different to the paranormal novels I normally read, but a very good book.

message 4455: by Kurukka (new)

Kurukka I finished The Ask and the Answer, really enjoyed it, review here : http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

I really want to read the third book but I think I need a little break (and I also don't want the adventure to finish soon :P) so I think I'll finish The Graveyard Book, plus it's a quick read.

Oh Brigid, I so agree. I thought I Am Number Four was just awful. There's supposed to be a movie coming out based on it. (sorry, didn't mean to scare you ;)

message 4477: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (K5_Music_Angel) | 34 comments Right now I am reading "Beautiful Creatures" by Kami Garcia and Maragret Stohl. There were mixed reviews when I first checked it out to decide whether or not to stick it on my Kindle, but I'm glad I got it. Definitely planning on getting the sequel as well. It's like Romeo and Juliet. Except with witchcraft.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for paranormal YA romance novels.

message 4478: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (K5_Music_Angel) | 34 comments Yes, I have had some negative thoughts as I went through-- such as, a male protagonist should definitely think like a male. Sometimes Ethan does and sometimes he's catty, talking in detail about girl's outfits and colors, how one is dressed like she's ready for a wedding and the other's skirt is too short... But overall I really enjoyed it and STRONGLY identify with Lena's character.

It's a beautiful story, at its root, I believe.

But I'm still a little over halfway into "Beautiful Creatures." So I'll let you know, when I'm done with "Beautiful Darkness," how it was!

Kurukka Darya wrote: "Right now i'm reading a french book named SORTILEGE. IT's an interesting story . The main story is based a little on THE beauty and the beast. But for YA. IT's pretty good."

Your sure it's french ? I googled it and found that it was translated into french (by one of our worst translators besides but that's not the topic :3)

message 4480: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (peanutty222) | 529 comments I'm still working on Carpe Corpus (The Morganville Vampires, #6) by Rachel Caine . I just read Jealousy (Strange Angels, #3) by Lilith Saintcrow again, and I am also listening to On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta on audio. Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick just came in at the library for me, but I'm really not all that excited to read it. I'm not sure why I requested it, I didn't find Hush, Hush all that great.

message 4481: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Cresendo wasn't better or worse then Hush Hush, it just kept going without any dips or rises, a straight line.

Though I do like Patch.

message 4482: by Arphaxad (last edited Dec 02, 2010 05:59AM) (new)

Arphaxad | 335 comments Hmm, I've got Crescendo on request too, though I wasn't overly impressed with Hush Hush! Ah well, as long as it's not terrible, I'll read it.

Just finished Strange Angels (Strange Angels, #1) by Lilith Saintcrow , was good fun. Also re-read Love You to Death (The Mediator, #1) by Meg Cabot quickly this afternoon, which cheered me up after trudging around in the snow all morning!

Now starting Betrayals (Strange Angels, #2) by Lilith Saintcrow and continuing with Terrier (Beka Cooper, #1) by Tamora Pierce .

Strange Angels (Strange Angels, #1) by Lilith Saintcrow is one of my favorite series. I love Dru's rude sarcastic attitude.

Hey...isn't the first Mediator called Shadowland? How come your copy is called Love You to Death?

That's the UK version, it would seem; here the covers/titles are all different. That's what my library copy looks like!

message 4489: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Hahaha, thanks. Funny how you could take the same review and put it in place for Hush Hush too... though Maybe with only 1-2 'Nora sucks'.

I really liked that one. I've enjoyed all of his books. Probably why I'm holding off a little bit on The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan , so I can savor that later and not have to wait so long until his next book.

I was sick for a few days as well, which was horrible! I can't concentrate on reading when I am sick and with the holidays that just adds to it all.
