I hope you love it as much as I did! I just finished Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger . I didn't like it as much as the first book, but I still enjoyed it. I love the author's sense of humor. And I loved the ending. I'm starting Blameless (The Parasol Protectorate, #3) by Gail Carriger right now and I'm so excited :D

Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger Now I have to read the sequel when I don't need to sleep:)

Sigh.

What did you think about DoSB?

message 12184: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) I must be a minority again as I REALLY didn't like Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor . Seemed it took forever to make a point and made very little sense to me.

Ahh, I am not much into paranormal. But the best thing about the book I felt was its writing style. I loved it.

Theo Jennifer wrote: "I am thinking of starting Chime by Franny Billingsley. Has anyone read this? The reviews are mixed. I would like some opinions. Thanks."

I just finished it and I have to say I really enjoyed it. There's a lot going on, and it may seem jumbled as you begin to read it, but it all comes together and makes sense by the end. It's a bit of a mystery and I had fun trying to piece the clues together as I read. I'd definitely recommend it.

message 12188: by Melodie (new)

I am just about to start part 7 out of 10 parts on the audio and it is weird so far. As you know Melodie I am not into paranormal YA books so it will take a lot to win me over. We shall see! It is def. better than books I quit like Mortal Instruments so far so I am hoping it wins me over.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments For me I think the real world setting or Prague is part of why DOSB worked for me, as well as the artsy main character.

message 12194: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Cassi aka Snow White wrote: "For me I think the real world setting or Prague is part of why DOSB worked for me, as well as the artsy main character."

Yeah..I am not all that into artsy characters like you Cassi. That is one of the reason I was not as into Lola and the Boy Next Door as much as Anna (still liked it though). But then again I am far from artsy in real life so it is natural to be drawn to characters you can relate to.

message 12195: by Cassi aka Snow White (new)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments There's a line for me with artsy characters. There's just enough (Karou falls into this) then there's trying too hard. I love just enough and get really annoyed with trying to hard very fast (a little too hipster for me). I suppose I am a tad artsy so that makes sense.

I didn't like the Mortal Instruments either! I only read the first one and hated it! I thought I was the only one!
