Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Miranda,

Are you liking Born at Midnight? Have been thinking about reading that one.

message 9852: by Miranda - (new)

Miranda - Life Between Chapters☕ (lifebetweenchapters) | 27 comments So far Born at Midnight is really good, don't worry it's nothing like Twilight either. lol So far this year it's been really hard for me to get into a story but Born at Midnight has me sucked in! :) I'm still in the beginning stages of the story though.

Stormi,
I liked the romance part of Twilight, the fact that they both had this undying love for each other no one could break through. Of course it was my first YA paranormal book I've read. ;)

message 9854: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) I can't think of a way to explain what the romance was like with out giving something away...lol..still going to say it wasn't exactly like twilight, but sort of maybe...lol you just have to give it a try...

Now you have me so curious I will be reading it next! :)

amy (asmith519yahoocom) | 80 comments I'm a little over half way through with The Iron Thorn (Iron Codex, #1) by Caitlin Kittredge and it's gotten weirder. It might just be my restless mind, but, has anyone read this? Is it worth finishing? I hate to abandon a book, especially 300 pages in, but I have so many other books I want to read too!

I haven't read the book but I know the feeling you are going through. I always try to finish a book but there have been a few I just had to stop, mostly because I've gotten bored.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Finally getting to start Hold Me Closer, Necromancer by Lish McBride .

So update on Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver audiobook. Almost done with CD 4 (I think, could be 5). (view spoiler)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) *Doing a happy dance* Though I really wanted a Nook Color, I was so desperate for a ereader..lol..and my birthday is next week sooooooooooo...Walmart now has the Kindles that are only $114!!! So my dad bought me one of those for my Bday (early present) today and I am charging it up as I type..lol. I don't care if it wasn't the one I wanted its a EREADER!!!! Oh yeah, no more reading on my computer....yeah yeah...LOL :)

message 9862: by Naomi (new)

Naomi (crazynaze) | 9 comments I'm about 20 pages into The Painted Man (Demon Cycle, #1) by Peter V. Brett but not really feeling it yet. I hope it will get better as i'm one of those people that MUST finish what i've started lol.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Stormi I love my Kindle. I don't think I'd want a backlit ereader like NookColor. So I think you came out better in the long run. NookColor would be more like reading on your computer whereas Kindle is like a book only more convenient.

Let us know how you like it, I'm thinking of getting an ereader. The only thing I don't care for in the Nook is you have to have a credit card linked to your account & I don't use credit cards online.

message 9865: by Stormi (StormReads) (new)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Miranda,

Don't you have to have a credit card linked to the kindle too? I was already buying kindle ebooks of amazon.com before my ereader..and it was extremely cool to hook it up and everything EVEN my audible.com stuff went right on to my kindle..coolest thing ever!!! I figured it is linked to my credit card, since you can purchase things from the kindle store on your kindle, etc....but I don't know. :)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Kindle is linked to your credit card. You can *maybe* (do not know) link it to paypal but that ultimately is a credit card.

My question is how do you shop online without a credit card?

Amazon seems fairly secure. Been shopping there for years without a problem.

I use a pre-paid credit card, I buy them from Walgreens. I do have a paypal account but it's not linked to anything, I load money into the account with a greendot card, most sites will let me purchase things but some (netflix and ancestry.com) won't since they don't consider it "secure" since it's not linking to my credit card or bank account. I love the pre-paid visa cards from Walgreens, never had any problems with them. ;)

message 9871: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Refurbed NookColors are on sale for $190 shipped. I believe they have the same warranty even though they are sold from the B&N Ebay store. My hubby has given me the go ahead, but I think he was just being nice, or didn't fully read my text :P

I was probably going to hack it and mess around on it. But I am curious to see what prices will look like toward the end of summer. I think the Color Kindle is coming out, which should make prices drop!

message 9872: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I would totally root that Nook Color if I got one! Netflix on the go - priceless!

message 9875: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Hahaha! pst....if anyone wants a cheap Kindle you might apply for an Amazon points card and get $30 off your first purchase and get a Kindle wifi with ads for $84.00. I am just sayin.... Not that anyone I know did this or anything.

message 9876: by Peep (Pop! Pop!) (new)

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Well, if someone were to take advantage of that, I would tell that someone that that is a very good deal! Not that I know anyone that has signed up for it, but I did I would say CONGRATS!

I'm with Heidi in the the Kindle is excellent. I don't need a backlit reader (and if I DO, I can temporarily just use my iPod). Now that I have my Kindle, I'm totally into it. Love the ebooks! Congratulations!

Lol. Plus, keep your eyes on the ads, one will eventually come up for a $20 Amazon gift card for $10. With all the Kindle book sales, you can get a lot of books with that $10!

WTF Are You Reading? | 64 comments Stormi,
I am so glad to hear about your Kindle! Whoot! Whoot! I take it that this will increase your reading 100 fold?

I just finally got around to doing my review for Hold Me Closer, Necromancer and found it to have a lot of similarities to White Cat, so if you like that one, this should be a win.

Both male leads, both practicing dark/alternative magic, both surrounded by people who want to use their abilities for harm, both books have snarky humor, etc.

Have you read Summer's Crossing (Iron Fey, #3.5) by Julie Kagawa yet? It's a novella set between The Iron Queen and The Iron Knight
I haven't read it yet but I downloaded it, I think it's in Puck's point of view.

i've been debating whether or not to read warm bodies, would u tell me what u thought of it??

message 9891: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I really liked it alot. I mean, it is absolutely unlike anything I've ever read before. It is quite literally a book about Zombie love. But the author really writes incredibly beautifully and despite the fact that the MC was a Zombie you really really care for him.

Not to mention that the message of the book was pretty awesome. You should give it a shot.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Generation Dead (Generation Dead, #1) by Daniel Waters had a zombie love story, but it was just okay, not exceptional.

message 9900: by Mish (new)

Mish Are you enjoying it Traci? I thought the first 2 books in the series were brilliant. Mockingjaywas a bit average tho :)
