What are you reading now?

I am always worried about people trying audiobooks when it is not one I have listened to myself. Good luck!

has a similar situation where a brother and sister turn to each other out of need/loneliness. It's a very good book.
Stacia ~ perpetually perplexed wrote: "

I just started The Forest of Hands and Teeth, and I'm not sure what to think so far. I am not a big fan of zombies, but this book has a good romance theme to it.
It is Emily, sort of, but it's not really a traditional type of romance. It's very heartbreaking and a bit shocking in parts. Nothing about their situation comes easy to them.
Catie wrote: "The Forest of Hands and Teeth is such a divisive book - There are tons of 1 star and 5 star reviews for that one!I am in the 1 star camp."
And me and Catie normally agree but I liked it. It's just one of those books.
I feel somewhere in the middle. It was about 3.5 stars for me. I was engaged while reading it, but the end frustrated me a bit. Mary was very selfish.
I liked The Forest of Hands and Teeth but I'm not reading any further in the series. I'm the same way Caryn (not a big fan of zombies).
I didn't like the 2nd as much, but I've heard the 3rd is better than the 2nd. Waiting to see if the library gets it (I've read them all as library books) I think I understood Mary's selfishness more than most because I was grieving at the time I read the book & grief is a very selfish emotion.
I second the recommendation for Forbidden--it's very sensitively written and made me cry buckets of tears.I liked the Forest of Hands and Teeth, did not care for #2, but then enjoyed #3 again. But I kind of hope that's the end of it.
I just finished
which was a big disappointment. :( I'm trying to figure out what to read next, as nothing in the the huge pile I have lying around is grabbing me right at the moment. I'm just in one of those moods.
Yep, that was the book I was talking about. I'm staying away from this topic in case someone accidentally slips a spoiler! :p
Speaking of which, does anyone know the US release date for Forbidden? I know it's already out in the UK.
Just finished
. Recommended if you like really unique world building/mythology. Probably not if you don't like fantasy. At times it moves slowly, but its just so different. I'm finally going to jump on the bandwagon and read
. We'll see how this goes.
About to start
. A reliable resource told me that it's light and mindless, which is exactly what I need after
Wendy Darling wrote: "Ohh, I'm so looking forward to reading Between Sea and Sky, Emily! Can't to hear how it is. :)"I really hope this is a good mermaid book. With all the mermaid hype I'm ready for one that doesn't stink.
I know, there have been a lot of mermaid stinkers. I liked the way Jaclyn Dolamore wrote
though--it was very descriptive and fairy tale-like. Bodes well, I hope, for this one!I just started
, which I really like so far. It's about one of the world's first female doctors, and opens with her as a 13-year-old girl in Canada...dissecting a squirrel in a barn. Really cool subject, really well written.
So far I haven't read a YA mermaid book that I liked, so I hope that Between Sea and Sky will show me that there are good ones!
Just finished
and am starting
while I wait for
to come in at the library for me to pick it up. Also have
waiting for me to read so it can go back. I love my library!(Knife is mine... I just haven't gotten around to reading it and it was chosen for me in the Give Me Five. :) )

Just finished Before I Fall - Lauren Oliver and really enjoyed it...very similar to The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold. Here is my comparison: http://theroamingmoon.blogspot.com/20...

I love how it's Judgement capitalized. Only read a few chapters but so far it seems fast paced which is good. And I think the library has all of it which is also good for Cassi's budget.
I will not judge based on the first one which so far seems fine.
Hahaha, I didn't even realize I capitalized judgement. Sometimes my finger just loves to click the shift key.
lol. I have decided that I cannot carry this book to work though. Hate the cover! Don't want it seen at the Girl Scout office. I might have to start something on my Kindle as well.
Wendy F wrote: "Is that the cover you have?I luckily got this cover,
, which is a pretty good one."Nope. It's this one:
and even though the important bits are covered, it's naked people. I don't take naked people around with me places. It's a library book so the jacket is taped to the book & hard to remove.
Oh yeah, I hate that. If it's so good I'll still take it with me but I try my darndest to keep the cover hidden, haha.
Wendy F wrote: "Oh yeah, I hate that. If it's so good I'll still take it with me but I try my darndest to keep the cover hidden, haha."There are occasionally children roaming around our office and I live in the Bible belt. So I just err on the side of caution. I have two good books on my Kindle so if needed I'll just start Beauty Queens.
Shelia wrote: "The only YA mermaid book I've read is

I'm almost 100 pages into
and it's hilarious so far. It was an impulse buy and I'm really glad that I snatched it up!
Just started Glass by Ellen Hopkins. I read Crank a few months back and absolutely loved it! I plan to read Fallout after I finish Glass. Check out my blog for my previous reads.http://yasweetescape.blogspot.com/

I read that in college and it creeped me out. There is another book that is along the same lines that is supposed to be really good. It's on my tbr list.
