Wendy Darling (wendydarling) | 193 comments Yay! Can't wait to hear what you all think of Hex Hall. Watch out for Cassi, though...she's already claimed the boy. (I conceded in favor of Will Herondale.)

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I love a boy with a sense of humor. That's why he's mine. :)

message 8857: by Ali (new)

Ali | 106 comments Just started Falling Under (Falling Under, #1) by Gwen Hayes by recommendation on here.. starting off really good! Hope it keeps up the momentum :)

Speaking of liking covers...I like this one. It always caught my eye and I'm curious what you think of this book. (I want to know it's worth reading. You know, one day when I'm done with the zillion books I have lined up.) :P

message 8862: by Valerie (new)

Valerie | 58 comments Starting to read Cloaked by Alex Flinn

WTF Are You Reading? | 64 comments I am reading The Replacementon audio. it took me a while to get into the whole primise of the book; as well as a little internet research on the Morrigan. I do like it though and I would feel very comfortable recommending it to others. This is definitely not your usual supernatural YA.

Jennifer (jsills3) | 159 comments Finished Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins . Cannot believe how much I loved it. I will be starting Demonglass (Hex Hall, #2) by Rachel Hawkins next.

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 44 comments Guess I must put Hex Hall higher on the TBR.....

I read Falling Under - I liked it. Not over the top fell in love with it, but I would definitely read a sequel if one comes out.

message 8867: by Susan (new)

Susan me too Cindy! Everyone seems to love it!!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments YAY FOR HEX HALL LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Just don't move in on my fictional man!

message 8870: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Wow, being sick for a weekend really causes you to miss out on alot.

I missed a good conversation too. I love offering my opinion, but since it mirrors Cassie and Wendy Darling's, I'll omit it this time.

I'll just say that I tend to slide right over shameless author promotions and don't even take notice of them until someone else says something. I think my eyes just skim right over them without actually reading them.

message 8871: by Anna (last edited May 23, 2011 07:00AM) (new)

Anna | 7 comments I am currently reading Tomorrow, When the War Began (The Tomorrow Series, #1) by John Marsden . I know, I am behind, but now that I've gotten around to it I like it quite much. Some of the writing could be improved on, but in all I am quite excited to see how it ends!

Hey...I am listening to that on audiobook right now. I found on on the list of Best Aussie YA Authors (right by my beloved Melina) so I thought I would give it a try. I am half done. I am reserving judgment for now.

It hasn't caught me yet. I do love listening to Aussie narrators though so it is all good.

message 8877: by Laura Beth (new)

Laura Beth (tampabookworm) | 229 comments I am about to give up on Fall on Your Knees by Ann-Marie MacDonald and move on to Just Listen by Sarah Dessen instead.

message 8878: by Cambria (new)

Cambria (cambria409) | 264 comments oh no! Isn't always so hard to get a book that you don't really like?

message 8879: by Anna (new)

Anna | 7 comments @Heidi Oh yes, Aussie I could listen to an Aussie narrator for a looong time. Yet my thoughts always seem to wonder off when I listen to Audiobooks...

It's not a huge page-turner for me yet but I hope it will improve because it has a lot of potential.

Kristina (kristinalawhead) I gave up on The Truth about Forever by Sarah Dessen , i guess i wasn't in the mood for it, may or may not pick it up again sometime. I'm going to start My Little Phony (The Clique, #13) by Lisi Harrison

Peep (Pop! Pop!) Catie wrote: "I listened to that one too Heidi - a few months ago I think. It's pretty decent. I wonder if the story gets more compelling as the series goes on."

I started on it but never finished it. It didn't pull me in. At the beginning of the year I started to add books that I started but didn't finish. I just stopped because apparently I give up all the time. *cough, cough*

Yeah I don't know what it is about her books that I just can't get in to. This one gets really good recommendations, and I didn't give it enough of a chance so I'll probably finish sometime. I think I just wasn't in the mood to read a book like that so I wasn't enjoying it :)

message 8890: by Heidi (new)

Heidi I am not into Dessen either Kristina.

message 8891: by Brandi (new)

Brandi Aww I'm sad you didn't like Truth About Forever Kristina. I loved it.

Awesomevegan (AKA JenReads) (awesomevegan) | 325 comments Finished Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins and am working on Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver (in audio from the library.) Anna was from the library too but I may have to buy a copy of my own since I loved it. :)

message 8895: by Tish (new)

Tish | 207 comments People, thank you! I had never heard of Juliet Marillier before joining this group, but had added the first books in her Sevenwaters, Wildwood, and Bridei Chronicles to my TBR list based on your glowing reviews. Well, my library didn't have any of those in stock last time I was there, but I picked up Heart's Blood by Juliet Marillier even though it wasn't on my list--and even though I hated the cover. ;) It was really good, so if this isn't considered one of her best, I can't wait for the ones that are! I foresee some potential 5 stars and maybe even a few book purchases--gasp! So, anyway, thank you!

message 8897: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (bookishevents) Today I'm reading Betrayed (House of Night, #2) by P.C. Cast and I won't bore you with my what I've read this week list because that was a HUGE post in the other group. Later this week I intend to read Blood & Spirits (The Coming Storm Trilogy Book 1) by Dennis Sharpe , On Dark Shores The Lady by J.A. Clement , Vampires Rule by K.C. Blake The Dream Thief (Drakon, #2) by Shana Abé and Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles, #1) by Kevin Hearne , four of which because I said I'd review them and the fifth to meet a reading challenge in another group.

message 8898: by Daria (new)

Daria (dariadeptula) Finished Huntress by Malinda Lo ..I loved it so much.

And last night I read The Austere Academy (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #5) by Lemony Snicket , which was just as humorous and entertaining as the other books.
