Young Adult Fiction for Adults discussion
What are you reading now?
Brittany, I have never actually listened to an audio book before, but I've been meaning to try one. I wonder if I could stand to hear a book without actually reading it? Haha hmmm.

I read the first one in December and sped through them super fast! I heard she's releasing a new one this summer even though she said the last one was the final one, I'm excited!
Finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society last night, I really liked it. I started reading Looking for Alibrandi today.

So all of you Tamora Pierce fans... I need some help. I just finished the Songs of the Lioness series and fell in love with Tortall. So I know Pierce has other series that take place in Tortall and I'm wondering which I should read. I think I saw The Immortals, Protector of the Small, and Daughter of the Lioness and then she's in the middle of a new Tortall series.
I would like to read the books in chronological order so my question is... which one comes next? I know Pierce wrote the Immortals series next, but I'm not certain it necessarily takes place next chronologically. Also which series is your favorite.
Help please... :)
Thanks!
The Immortals is next. And yes they're all worth reading. Then Protector of the Small, Daughter of the Lioness.TECHNICALLY speaking the new series takes places years and years before ANY of the series. But I tend to read in the order the author writes the books (I learned this with Narnia).
I haven't read her series in the other world though. Seemed younger to me.

Thanks for the info Cassi. I actually read Narnia in chronological order, starting with The Magician's Nephew. I guess I'll be looking for book #1 in The Immortals series next then. I'm excited!
I'm reading
, a friend recommended it to me and I borrowed it from her. Its pretty funny! I haven't read many books with an Asian character, the boy in this is really self deprecating and funny!
I've just started reading "Born at Midnight", by C.C. Hunter. It's a new YA series. Very interesting so far.:)

I've really liked the Immortals series Brittany. I think I may like the storyline even better than the Alanna series.
I could sift through this entire thread again, but I hope you all will forgive me if I don't. I was just curious if anyone has read Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly and what people thought of it.

Hahaha, Valerie, what a coincidence. Okay, awesome. We can tell each other what we think. But to be honest, I haven't had much time for reading in this past week, so there's no telling how long it's going to take me to finish it. haha
I've only read the first 55 pages myself! LOL I may try to read more this evening... been a long week for me too. I'll be sure to post a review when I'm done ;)
Plugging on through
. I really do like Seanan McGuire. I just figured out the other day that she wrote
under a different name so that'll move up my TBR list. But I don't know if I can love another of her books like the October Daye series. It's weird to imagine her writing something else (and I know this happens all the time but you know)
I've had
for what seems like forever so I'm starting it in a few minutes. I'm trying to go through all the books I own or have borrowed and clear out my shelves a little bit. I've already ready 2 books today, and maybe I can set a personal record and finish this too since its like 100 pages haha

I'm reading Where I Belong. So far the main character annoys me (though the main character does say that will be the case, so hopefully it will get better).
Wow, yet again it's been awhile since I checked this so I'm not going to try to read the last few pages I missed, well unless I get the time to actually do that lol.I'm still kind of reading
(on my desk top computer), but I'm also reading
on my Nook.

The Immortals series is sooo good, i added it to my list of favorites when i finished it! Hope you love it as much as i did!
And of course because I am a book addict... I had to start
when I seen it was available and not checked out from my library in audio. I love that it has a male and a female narrator. I am enjoying it so far and looking forward to finishing it. I enjoyed the movie.
Im almost about 2/3 of the way through My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent
and I'm really liking it. Too bad my library doesn't have any of the others :(

Hi Cassi, I read her Circle of Magic books, but I could not finish The Circle Opens series...They just aren't as good as the Tortall series, in my opinion.
I can't wait for the next Beka Cooper book!
