Gwennie (blessedwannab) We discussed this in another thread and I immediately struck it from my reading list. That's just completely unethical. I also won't go see the movie.

On another note, I wish we had the ability to 'like' a thread post, lol. Sometimes as I read I love what someone says but I don't want to comment on each one. If I could I would have 'liked' posts 7631 and 7633, hahaha.

Tina ♥ Bookaholic (martinabookaholic) alright, guess the press in austria haven't gotten it up. I've heard it just hear and now I'm extremly pissed, cause I started this book. And I only begun to read it cause alex pettyfer plays the main character in the movie - and I got to him, cause I'm in love with the Mortal Instruments, in which he'll maybe play also the main characters. uf,... and I only thought of spending some quality time with reading, and now this. and I understand your position, thats mean how this buisniss did happen whith this "book" :(

message 6903: by Laraine (new)

Laraine (lala26) | 121 comments I didn't know it was a screenplay first, I only knew that one of the authors had a shady history (James Frey). I had issues with the book too that's why I chose to watch it instead. The cast, particularly Alex Pettyfer and Teresa Palmer were really good in it, not to mention the special effects towards the end, plus it being produced by Michael Bay too. It's quite sad to be hearing news of this.

message 6904: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments Well, I finished up The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan on the bus ride home last night.

Now I'm going to concentrate on Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta . I see what everyone means by being confused a bit. Still haven't hit that moment of revelation yet.

Reading that and Climber magazine (why did I subscribe to this again?) right now."

Oh, love the Goose Girl!

You HAVE to retry, it is really good, not at all what it starts out to be!

Oh yes. Carmel is quite correct. I am crazy about audiobooks! *cough* I have also possibly mentioned a very very mild girl crush on a Aussie narrator. But...like I said... it is very mild - one could almost even nonexistant (hahaha).

message 6908: by [deleted user] (new)

I am in the middle of Eyes Like Stars now and I see what some of you were saying about it being all over the place sometimes, but other than that I really like it.
It's different and I will definitley be reading the sequel.

You are missing nothing. I know some people like it, but I thought it was one of THE worst books I've read in the last 5 years.

Currently reading the follow-up to The Name of the Wind... which is Wise Man's Fear

The Wise Man's Fear (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #2) by Patrick Rothfuss

not ya, but very very good

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I'm reading a non YA book called Reading Lips A Memoir of Kisses by Claudia Sternbach , I got it from Netgalley. I'm trying my best to read one book that isn't a netgalley related book and one that is netgalley related. I really shouldn't request so many books at a time, it gets overwhelming quickly lol.

I finished Reading Lips, and now I'm going to read This Girl Is Different by JJ Johnson .

The 1939 version of Wuthering Heights is really good. I've watched it many times. The only problem is that they tried to make a Hollywood 'happy ending'. So the movie ends at the halfway point of the book. The Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes version is pretty good and includes the entire book.

How are you liking the book so far?

I am so happy that I took everyone's advice and stuck with reading Jellicoe Road. I was soooo confused. But it really does all come together very nicely.

Sandra (Waiting For Wentworth) (waitingforwentworth) | 10 comments I started reading Beastly by Alex Flinn yesterday since it came in at the library earlier than I expected.

I have been trying to quickly get to the end of Token of Darkness by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes It is so terrible it should come with a warning. Whoever was giving it 5 stars must have been paid to do so.

She is fantastic and I completely understand why you love her, but I can't say that I have a girl crush on her too. My heart still belongs to Jonah Griggs.

However, I will say that I might be looking up other books that she has narrated, because she is just that good. No question.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Um okay I think I need to know more about this girl! Erm...narrator! Seriously always on the look out for good audiobooks. Has she done anything else I should know about?

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments I don't even know her name... I haven't gotten that far yet. But yes, you should check out her narrating ability. She's quite good.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) Going to try The Hunt of the Unicorn by C.C. I wanted to read that series wasnt sure how it was

message 6943: by Toni (new)

Toni | 27 comments Thanks Shannen! I will check it out.

Jenn: I really like it. Another YA series that I loved was A Great and Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle, #1) by Libba Bray . It is about 4 girls at a school in England in the 1800s and it is creepy/spooky (which I loved). The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong is also about some kids at a school/group home but in New York and has the creepy factor to it too. I was scared to go to the bathroom last night. It spooked me.

I know - the pressure is high to only LOVE Melina Marchetta. Maybe because I'm a guy and not all that "oooh....I want a Jonah Griggs!" :P

message 6949: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Hahaha! Even though you are a guy you can still have a man crush on Jonah! It is ok. We won't tell your wife.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments You see I tend to be more "guy" in my reading habits and Jellicoe is one where I agree with the girls on!
