message 6506: by Arphaxad (new)

Arphaxad | 335 comments Finished with Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White , which was ok...can't decide how many stars to give it. It's around the 2.5 mark; if only half stars were allowed! Very light, quick read; fun in some parts, but the protagonist was kind of annoying and extremely girly, which isn't my cup of tea.

Now reading Touching Darkness (Midnighters, #2) by Scott Westerfeld , the second in the series. Will probably save the third for next month, since Scott Westerfeld's one of March's featured authors :)

Rebecca (bexsi) I have finished Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast. Robin McKinley Beauty A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast. Robin McKinley by Robin McKinley This book is a true gem, and I would recomend it to anyone, of any age. 4 stars

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments Finished The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner and I liked it. It's not Hunger Games or Chaos Walking but I'll read the next one (though probably library or e-book).

Not sure what to read next. Probably buy something with kindle because tomorrow is a holiday and I have no intentions of leaving my house (I'm WIPED out from a Girl Scout event I ran this weekend--never felt so tired from something)

Brittany (finally graduated and can once again read for fun) | 1328 comments Rebecca, I loved Bloodsucking Fiends. I love that whole trilogy. I'd keep going that it. This trilogy and Lamb are my favorite CM books.

Also Wuthering Heights is really good. Depressing, but good. I hope you like it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. It wasn't for me either and I couldn't make myself finish it lol.

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I'm reading Switched (Trylle Trilogy, #1) by Amanda Hocking as well. Didn't know what to read and I was curious. Halfway through and its good. Better than other books with similar elements (trying to be vague & not spoilery)

Yeah, dude. I just finished it and can I just say... WORST BOOK OF THE YEAR. I shake my head in disappointment at all of the Goodreads people who enjoyed it and I scowl at them for leading me to believe that I would enjoy it.

I find it fascinating that this book has so many different reviews. I couldn't get past the first page before I was going, "oh good lord, this book is so boring."

i do like them. I just got over halfway through book 3 and stopped reading it because I had so many other things that I had to do. I didn't pick it back up. But, I'm going to get through the entire series and see how I like it. :) I'm very big on vampires, so it's right up my alley of books.

I was excited when it came out but after a few chapters in I found myself disappointed because it wasn't for me either. I think it might appeal to pre-teens though.

message 6543: by Jess (new)

Jess (jess_readsromance) This morning I started

Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost

Cassi aka Snow White Haggard | 2261 comments I'm enjoying what people have to say about Across the Universe. That was kinda high on my TBR list but now it sounds like I can wait to see if the library gets a copy. We'll see.

message 6545: by [deleted user] (new)

I started Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis last night... I'm on chapter 17 (they're really short chapters) but so far I'm enjoying it... Not super fast paced & not causing an obsession like some books (cough... Hunger games...cough) but interesting.

message 6546: by Traci (new)

Traci that's how I felt about the beginning of Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis , Ashley. I hope you enjoy the middle/end more than I did because to me it just kept dragging and the characters got dumber and dumber. :(

Well crap. I hope I do, too. I was really hoping for a good read. Just finished The Scorch Trials (Maze Runner, #2) by James Dashner and it was one of those books I had a hard time getting into. I need something epic!!

message 6548: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments Ugh out of all the books I got from the library last week, I didn't finish one of them. I've been in such a reading funk, it sucks. So I returned those. I am now trying to read Raising Dragons (Dragons in Our Midst #1) by Bryan Davis which so far is pretty good.

message 6549: by Becca (new)

Becca | 1608 comments Just finished Utopia (Penguin Classics) by Thomas More and can I just say I was so utterly bored I actually fell asleep reading it. I have never ever done that reading a book before. Wow, first time for everything.

Ugh. I know what you mean. Normally I devour books (seriously, I read way too fast) but lately I just can't get into any of them I try. Sad times. =(
