It is funny because I was going to go with that one next! Oh and I have heard of or met just in the last 2 years of a few Jaimies with two I's. Weird.

message 6202: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I sat last night and read Chaos Walking quotes online and got all emotional all over again. I do love that trilogy.

I've found most of my favorite books since joining Goodreads!

Me too!

Jill | 68 comments Finished Anna and the French Kissat work today. Loved it. I have a big decision to make and I need help...Vampire Academy Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead or The Awakening and The Struggle (The Vampire Diaries, #1-2) by L.J. Smith The Awakening and The Struggle next? Or Faefever? Help!

message 6205: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments Heidi I wrote: "Yay Lloyd! Didn't it feel like such a downer to be done with it?"

It did. Very good saga!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) VA or Fever are both good. Faefever is where the series starts to pick up. VA book 1 is just so-so, but the rest of the series is VERY good - much more of an adult read than some of the other silly YA vamp series out there *cough HoN* . I rarely hear anything good about VD, but haven't read it. Enough people have trashed it though to make me not care and just stick with the t.v. show instead.

can't go wrong with VA.

I would go with VA, I am half way through it and even though it was sort of slow to begin with it is starting to get interesting. :)

message 6209: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I finished Warped by Maurissa Guibord which I truly enjoyed and now I'll be reading The Frenzy by Francesca Lia Block .

message 6210: by Traci (new)

Traci I definitely vote VA!

message 6211: by Liz (new)

Liz Fichera (lizfichera) I just finished INSIDE MY HEAD. It's a realistic and gut-wrenching story about bullying. Set in England, the story could happen anywhere. Highly recommend. Inside My Head by Jim Carrington

message 6212: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (bookworm20) | 67 comments Heidi I wrote: "Ohh Jaimie let me know about All I Ever Wanted. I have it in my tbr pile."

Just finished it! It was alright. I don't think it was one of her best, but I also do not think that it was a waste of time either. I give it probably 2 and a half stars, maybe three, but that may be pushing it just a little. lol

message 6213: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (bookworm20) | 67 comments Just finished All I Ever Wanted by Kristan Higgins and I am not going to start Song of the Moon (Artemis Lupine, #1) by Catherine Banks . :)

message 6214: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (bookworm20) | 67 comments Sorry I meant I am NOW going to start Song of the Moon (Artemis Lupine, #1) by Catherine Banks . lol oops

message 6215: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments My TBR is getting longer and longer each day. Oh well, I need books to read, so it's all gravy.

I'm also reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy with my online book club and I must say that it's really good for being a classic. I normally stay away from classics, but I'm glad I decided to read this one.

message 6216: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I finished Bloody Jack Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary "Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy (Bloody Jack, #1) by L.A. Meyer last night. I'm not sure what I'll read next. Perhaps I'll move on to Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins .

message 6217: by Tiphaine (new)

Tiphaine | 71 comments Finished Fate (My Blood Approves, #2) by Amanda Hocking and I really liked it!
Just started Nightshade (Nightshade, #1) by Andrea Cremer

message 6218: by Arphaxad (last edited Feb 09, 2011 06:37AM) (new)

Arphaxad | 335 comments I've just finished The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2) by Brandon Sanderson , the 2nd in the Mistborn trilogy - it was epic! Can't wait to get my hands on the next book now, this series is going from strength to strength.
While I wait for it to come in at the library, I'll make a start on The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa .

message 6219: by [deleted user] (new)

Tiphaine - You have to read the rest of the My Blood Approves series. It gets better with each one. If you haven't already, you should read her Trylle series too. :)

Just finished Torn (Trylle Trilogy, #2) by Amanda Hocking and now I'm reading Ascend (Trylle Trilogy, #3) by Amanda Hocking .

You must read Anna!!

Heidi Jamie wrote: Just finished it! It was alright. I don't think it was one of her best, but I also do not think that it..."

Good to know. I have only read one book by her (One of the Guys), but from the sounds of it, it was her best because the other Jaimie (with the extra i) did not seem to think some of her others were as good either.

message 6222: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Heidi, I think you would like Catch of the Day - it was close to as good as Just One of the Guys but not as funny so it got knocked down a bit.

message 6223: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Thanks Jaimie with the extra i :) I will read that one instead!

message 6224: by Jaimie (new)

Jaimie (jaimier) | 1275 comments Maybe we only liked Just One of the Guys so much because there was so many hot Firemen?

message 6225: by Monica (new)

Monica (nutz4reading) | 33 comments I'm currently reading To Hold the Crown The Story of King Henry VII and Elizabeth of York (Tudor Saga, #1) by Jean Plaidy and Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay . I am enjoying them both.

message 6226: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Jaimie wrote: "Maybe we only liked Just One of the Guys so much because there was so many hot Firemen?"

Hahaha! You may be right :)

message 6227: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Heidi I wrote: "You must read Anna!!"

I decided to finish One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost first, since I started reading it before Shadowfever came. It got discarded for more Jericho Barrons, but now I'm going to finish it.

Then it'll be Anna.

message 6228: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Ok...ok, but read it soon Wendy! I hope you like it more than Jacky :( There is a little French in it, but no strange dialects I swear!

message 6229: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I don't mind the french. But the whole Cockney language plus a massive headache and a bit of a fever really did me in. It took way to much concentration to decipher, hahaha.

Heidi Wendy F wrote: "I don't mind the french. But the whole Cockney language plus a massive headache and a bit of a fever really did me in. It took way to much concentration to decipher, hahaha."

Forget you ever read it, and start fresh with the audiobook. Trust me, have I ever steered you wrong? (don't answer that!)

message 6231: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Hahaha, up to this point, you haven't. I'll give the Audio a try as soon as I'm done with Outlander on audio.

message 6232: by Lloyd (new)

Lloyd | 415 comments Started The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan on the bus ride to work this morning. Every time I read a Rick Riordan YA book, I am immediately captivated and drawn in.

message 6233: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookaddict_92) | 37 comments I'm currently reading a few books at the moment..

Teach Me by R.A. Nelson
Infinite Days (Vampire Queen, #1) by Rebecca Maizel
Impulse (Impulse, #1) by Ellen Hopkins
Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks

Dear John and The Guardian are a bit slow.. Teach Me is a different type of read for me, Infinite Days I just started the first few pages, and Impulse is exactly what I expected from Ellen Hopkins.

message 6234: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I thought the Lost Hero was great. I love his whole Olympus world building.

I can't WAIT for The Son of Neptune.

message 6235: by Jill (new)

Jill | 68 comments I decided to start The Girl Who Chased the Moon The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen because it was released into paperback yesterday. :)

Jamie (bookworm20) | 67 comments Heidi I wrote: "Jaimie wrote: "Maybe we only liked Just One of the Guys so much because there was so many hot Firemen?"

Hmm I think it's time for me to read Just One of the Guys. Hot firemen sound so appealing. Plus, you two are saying it's the best one, but that's the smaller reason for me to read it. Bring on the fire!

message 6237: by Sara (new)

Sara (rose081900) | 177 comments I love Rick Riordan, he's such an awesome writer. I'm hoping to read his "The Red Pyramid" sometime soon since I've already read the other books.

The Red Pyramid (Kane Chronicles, #1) by Rick Riordan was really good. I can't wait for the next one! So far, all of his YA stuff has been great.

message 6239: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Jamie wrote: "Hmm I think it's time for me to read Just One..."

Hahaha! Yes! Read it Jamie without the extra i! I really really liked it and I am not huge into chick lit, so it has to be good if I am saying that (ha- like my opinion matters! :)

I love Infinite Days (Vampire Queen, #1) by Rebecca Maizel . Maizel's writing is so good.

Heidi Catie (with a C) - let me know how Monster's is on audio. I read all of them in print, and am curious how the narrator will read Todd (and a few of the new characters).

message 6243: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Amanda that is a lot of books you are reading there!

message 6244: by Jill (new)

Jill | 68 comments @ Heidi I: I can't wait for her next book in March. I am also a huge fan of hers.

For those who have a difficult time finding new authors, there is a website called Literature Map...click here. You type in the name of a favorite author and it gives you a "map" of authors to choose from based upon that author's name.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) So excited I got my Kansas City Library card in the mail today! I had to email them to activate it so now I am just waiting to get a email from them saying I am activated so that I can get on their website and check out some audiobooks and ebooks..LOL
