Which Fantasy Author Did You Find Most Disappointing?

Naw, carbonation doesn't always get along with my throat, so you're not the only one. :D
Black licorice is awesomesauce. Salt licorice, though... D:

Yay, I'm not the weirdest person here! Only second weirdest :D

Double salt Dutch licorice. Yum! My family used to always go to the candy shop for double salted. I haven't had any in years, though.
Lmao @ Dawn. I love when a woman talks dirty :)
Stale...Soda? Ewwwwwwwwww

Stale soda and Black Licorice?
You people are monsters

And we all know who ate the heads off the gummy bears....
Pffft...screw sweets. Where's the beef jerky :)

Big soft pretzel with cheese...mmmm.
And a Slurpee.

Movie snacks rock.

Stop bringing up my fucking..."
Stop cursing at me.

Stop bringing up my name. Anywhere. Ever.

We tactfully changed the subject in this thread. Let it go.

I tried reading The Eyre Affair last summer after it came highly recommended to me by my creative writing teacher, and... I didn't really get it. Granted, I was in the middle of a huge book slump where I couldn't finish ANYTHING for a while, but I could hardly pay any attention to it. Is it worth re-visiting?

I know.
Easy. Kevin decided to be Kevin. I decided to be me. Dawn was naughty and Everyone else watching apparently got high and got their munchy on :)

I'll just leave this here...
(Also, I'm damned sad I missed the fight in here...)
Pfft...fight makes it sound like it was a level playing field :)

Ah snark. One of the driving, joyous forces behind FA :)

Holy crap...apparently I'd repressed Gummi Bear memories cause I was totally just singing along to that theme song at the top of my lungs

Shit on Debra's desk... Geez I hope someone gets that or I just look Reaaaaally weird :)

Drama free diet?

Ah for some reason GoodReads stopped giving me my updates. Meaning I missed this.
Of course now two days later I'm sitting at my desk singing the theme song to Gummi Bears. *glares at Grant*
Ah it just got worse now I'm thinking Ducktales: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6PVxl...

I like Gaiman. His writing is a bit different. But I recommend giving him a try at least!
I finished American Gods recently - I can't say that I'm all that excited about it being turned into a TV series. I just don't see it.

I'm with Mike on the Gaiman~ some I like, some I don't. I think he's good at putting a twist on certain ideas--modern gods, underground London--but his writing doesn't always draw me in emotionally. He's popularized a lot of fantasy/ imaginative stuff though, and I'm all for that.
;)

What? Can't handle the Ducktales. Ok how about this one :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7TTk_...

I couldn't bring myself to finish it. I hate the character, I hated the society, I pretty much hated the book. Hence I will probably never read any thing else he wrote.
I had heard so many things about this book. It's a masterpiece...it's a classic...
UGH!

Definitely don't read Animal Farm then. You'll just get annoyed. I liked it, but it was kind of repetitively obnoxiously obvious what it was getting at. LOL

No Fitz really isn't that type. I can say at first I was not that "into" the books. But the character does really develop. He is an assassin but not of the normal ilk. He is more the reluctant hero.
I will say though I am glad I stuck through the series. I will never love Fitz the way some do on FA (my heart is already gone to Haplo from Death Gate Cycle - teenage infatuation). But I am now on the Tawny Man series by Hobb.
I'd recommend giving it another try. With the expectation that Fitz is not your normal assassin.
And now I leave it for Grant to finish convincing you...

I really liked Fitz precisely because he sucked/failed as an assassin. I found his ability to keep on keepin' on...even when someone had to walk behind him and kick him in the ass to keep him goin...admirable. It just felt real to me (more than it would have if he were a badass).
I think the Lies of Locke Lamora is just a great book. It leaves an impression. I love finishing a book like that but then it makes it a little difficult if the following book I read isn't as awesome.

I have a sour patch kid obsession. And black licorice! Not so much into the gummy bears, though.
