Lol, I've taken a small break from mer-books for a while! But I'm diving back in soon to finish Antara (Antara, #1) by Marilena Mexi . This book is so beautiful!

message 106: by Dana (new)

Dana (piyo) | 57 comments I take small breaks too, or at least, I space out my mermaid books so I have something to look forward to. I never want to get myself burnt out on mermaid, which really doesn't happen, but still.

I decided to read Madhouse by Rob Thurman, it's the third book in the Cal Leandros series and I absolutely *love* that series. It's an urban fantasy about two brothers that fight demons.

As for Antara I'm totally looking forward to that. I've been keeping an eye out for it on BN, because I know she said it was going to be released there. If not, I'll see where else I can find it.

Marilena Mexi (marilenamexi) | 24 comments Garret I'm very glad to hear that, I can't wait for your review.

Also I'm working on the sequel of 'Antara'

Hi Dana,

Thank you very much for your interest. Regarding online stores, when I first published my book, I was told that it would take around 2 months until it is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other retailers. So it should be available in the next few days, if nothing unexpected happens. Alternatively, someone could buy it from LuLu in .epub format too; all ebook readers support that.

Marilena

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Finished Goddess of the Night (Daughters of the Moon, #1) by Lynne Ewing earlier and now reading Into the Cold Fire (Daughters of the Moon, #2) by Lynne Ewing . I'm rereading the whole series, and I'm falling in love with it all over again! I had to reread them soon eventually, since they're just sitting on my shelf collecting dust. :)

message 109: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Just finished From Dead to Worse (Sookie Stackhouse, #8) by Charlaine Harris and it was awesome! Can't wait to start the next one!

message 110: by Zoraida (new)

Zoraida | 77 comments I can't believe you guys didn't like Beautiful Creatures! LOL. I love it. But it IS NOT action heavy and all about the incredibly slow (but cute) building of Lena and Ethan's romance. It does get better, if you want to give it a second shot.

:)

So I finished reading Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth by Veronica Roth
It was pretty awesome! Highly recommend if you're into dystopia!

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelll, I do love my some dystopia.......

nevr heard of it be4 em

message 115: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) I just finsihed Darkest Mercy
and it really surprised me how good it was! I really loved it after the last two books which were boring and mediocre.

message 116: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Look what I got last night: Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, #11) by Charlaine Harris I'm so excited; can't wait to start it!

message 117: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) I finished Fathom, and I have to say, I love it even more than Fins

message 118: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Awesome, wasn't it? I can't wait for Forever, I think it's gonna be the best one.

message 119: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) I know right? So excited.

message 120: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Just finished Dead in the Family (Sookie Stackhouse, #10) by Charlaine Harris , and the final battle scene was awesome! Probably going to start Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, #11) by Charlaine Harris tomorrow, or maybe tonight, depending on if I feel like reading some more or not.

message 121: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) How many of those are there? I've seen at least ten.

message 122: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Right now, there's eleven, and there's going to be two more, plus there's a collection of short stories I have to read next, and there's the companion coming out this summer. They're all so so good, except the sixth and seventh books felt a little slow, but other than that, they're really good, the kind of books you just want to curl up with.

I added the first book of that Cal Leandros series to my to-read shelf. I looked it up, and the series sounds great! Hope I can find a copy and start reading it soon!

After you've found yourself a copy and have given it a read, Garrett, you'll have to let me know what you thought! I absolutely *love* that series, and have since finished up to book five. I have book six, but as I don't want to get burnt out and keep myself in a little suspense, I'm holding off on reading it so I have something to look forward too, hee!

Today I started Carolyn Turgeon's Mermaid A Twist on the Classic Tale by Carolyn Turgeon . The cover itself is just so beautiful, I love the scales on her tail! Of course, the story itself so far is really good as well!

Oh, I have that one too! But I peeked at the ending and spoiled it for me. I think you'll love this one, Dana! It's unlike any other Little Mermaid retelling!

message 128: by Dana (new)

Dana (piyo) | 57 comments You peeked! Oh how could you? ;)

Actually, I just finished the book this morning and really liked it. It was like reading the fairy tale written for adults. I was surprised by a few things, and wish you got to see more of the prince, that you got to know him a better. And the end...sweet and bittersweet.

message 129: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Currenly reading Prime Evil (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) by Diana G. Gallagher , and it's so good! Really creepy and dark!

message 130: by Jeannie (new)

Jeannie (thegenie) | 42 comments Can anyone recommend me any good YA mer-books? I have been in dire need of one.

message 131: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) This one is super-good! Tempest Rising by Tracy Deebs Lost Voices by Sarah Porter and Forgive My Fins (Fins, #1) by Tera Lynn Childs are other great choices.

message 132: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) I really enjoyed Hannah but it was leaning a bit more toward younger readers.

THANKS! I read "Forgive My Fins" but "Tempest Rising" seems really good.

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) I'm currently reading Immortal (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) by Christopher Golden . I'm not very far yet, but I can already say this is one of the best Buffy novels in regards to Buffy/Angel scenes. They've had one scene in particular that made me feel really bad for Buffy and Angel. Also unlike most Buffy tie-in novels, which focus more on the monsters and mythology, this one has a lot more of the emotion between characters, like on the TV show and which made the show such a success, with emotional ties between most of the characters.

message 135: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) I'm still working on the whole Buffy thing....

message 136: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) I finished the final season a couple weeks ago, and I was so sad. Now, I've seen 'em all. Oh, and I saw this thing where supposedly the creator of Doctor Who was influenced by Buffy in some ways. I knew I just had to tell you that! :D

message 137: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) Dude, Doctor Who first started in 1963. Must be Steven Moffat. He writes for the show nowadays.

message 138: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Yeah, I looked it up, and it was from 2005 and onward that Doctor Who got influences from Buffy. But wow, I didn't know Doctor Who was that old. I thought it was relatively new. :)

message 139: by Randi (new)

Randi (The Artist Formerly known as Guitar Chick) (guitarchick) No, it's the longest running sci-fi show in the history of the world.

Starting Ripple! :D Ripple by Mandy Hubbard

message 150: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) Ooh, you'll have to tell me how that one is! I've been wanting to read that one for, like, FOREVER!
I'm nearly halfway through with Fins Are Forever by Tera Lynn Childs and it's really good, probably better than the first!
