How about something like member of the week/month
you can put up names of members in polls and other members can vote for their favorites.This will help in active participation by ohter members.
We can all decide the parameters for judging the members.

I don't like the idea of the member of the week/month, maybe somebody could be offended if he is never voted and it is not nice if we begin to make preferences between us.

hey we could add a thread on debates! we could choose any current topic from the news, society, world wherever...choose it and then start a debate over it...finally at the end of the week decide the side that won! it would keep our group socially active and attractive! i mean let's get out of the books and think practical over practical situations kinda thing!!!

Me too. I would not have preferred face to face vocal debating, but debating via messages is too good for me. I can speak my mind out there, without stage fright of any sort.

I am a Debataholic too...since so many years i've been doin it and Winning too...Hihihih! But neways, Debating is fun, knowledgeable, bold and practical. I mean now that we all are friends, y not furnish each other...and debating could be a good way for that! (Moderators could keep an eye if anyone gets too obscene or crosses the limit, cuz sometimes debating gets to that too...)
But according to me, Debating would be a great thing to start!!!

Akanksha, sorry for the delay, can you please help us by creating a poll for selecting an alternate display pic? I see u already have a few ideas in mind. Put up at least 5 entries and max 10 entries and let users vote over the weekend or say until tuesday night, ensures every one will get to vote on it. By Wednesday we shud be able to pick one. BTW, try avoiding copyright violations, it shud be ok even if u can't i guess!

Confession time... i've been a pain in the a$$ to a few of us by constantly reminding not to post off-topic stuff etc etc. But i realize once in a while it's ok to digress as long as we make sure we return back to the topic!

Now that i got it out of the way, any other changes in the group you guys are looking forward to? Created book-shelves (was done long ago i guess) and removed all the books that older inactive users once added to the group, now we have only the group reads books in the shelf, nothing else! Those of u who aren't so active in the group-reads, anything you are lookin for specifically?

start a helpline. Help for day to day stuff. For ex, I am planning to visit hyderabad (hypothetically) and I want to ask the Guide for suggestions regarding hotel stay, shopping place etc.

We can have a section called 'Indian Languages Books'.. Like Games, Group Reads etc., Inside that we can create separate threads for say, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi etc., so that we can discuss indian language books.. What say Mods?
