So far I am finding it a bit predictable. I am pretty certain that I figured out who the killer is about a hundred pages ago. And even if I am wrong then the story will be totally dumb and not even make any sense. So predictable or stupid...not sure which I am rooting for lol.

Lisa Kay (or any other nurses), got a question for you: do OR or ER nurses do any cutting people open?

When I opened the Hopkins book and saw it was done in verse I said "Eww", but once I started in with the story I had a hard time putting it down to get some sleep.

yeah I need to get the next weather warden book as well

I'm not a big fan of Maggie Stiefvater. I've attempted to read two of her books but I couldn't even make it half way through.

Although I wouldn't say I'm a fan of her books, I did enjoy them, and especially her writing, which is why I was so excited for this book. In this book though, I feel like her beautiful writing has vanished. Plus, I'm almost 100% sure this book will end with a cliff hanger.

Anyways, I finished

I started this book a few times. I read a few pages, think, "Eh," and put it down. Read something better, forget about it. Pick it up in a few days, do the same thing.

It's one of those books you have to make a committment to read. Otherwise, it's nearly impossible to read. At several times while reading this book, I had to force myself to read it.

At what point (page number/chapter) does it get better?

I don't think Jo makes a good Urban Fantasy MC—I don't even know if this book should be classified as an Urban Fantasy. She is one of those girls-in love with every man she meets and frivolous about love. When I read Urban Fantasy I was to see kick ass protagonist, not a love sick puppy. So I'm giving this book 2 stars for the plot, but an additional star for originality. And the genies, can't forget the genies...

So I went to the digital library system. Unfortunately, the only copy available was the audiobook.
I have to say, some books really ought not to be read out loud. Not only am I not impressed by the narrator (ugh, but her voice for Alice makes me cringe), but listening to it really highlighted how badly written and boring this book is. Listening to low self-esteem Bella gush about Edward's perfection keeps making me roll my eyes although...I did that while I read it too. haha. At least when I read/reread it, I can skip whatever I want.

I like it so far."
Thanks, I hadn't noticed it came out, now I know. I think I'll wait to read more reviews. Is it really good or just okay?

gosh..it got such good reviews from bloggers..it was on my wishlist. post back when you are done :)

“Summer is like a slow-cooker bringing everything in the world to a boil one degree at a time. It promises a million happy adjectives only to pour stench and sewage into your nose for dinner.”
“I hate the lackadaisical ennui of a sun too preoccupied with itself to notice the infinite hours we spend in its presence.”
The book is full of clunkers like the above quotes. Like a 12 year old went nuts with a thesaurus. You can almost see the "i"'s dotted with hearts and smiley faces written on unicorn paper. So bad, you're embarrassed for the author.

Those are pretty horrible quotes lol. If I do read this book (whic I probably will at some point) I'll request it from my library.

I had a feeling the book was going to be awful, but I couldn't resist it because I kept seeing the ads. I don't know why, but if I keep seeing an ad for a book and the cover looks somewhat good, I just want to read it. I have a ton of books I bought or borrowed because of a GR ad. I'm not like that with advertising normally- I don't see a breakfast cereal, jeans, etc. commercial and buy the product. But for some reason, I'm weak when it comes to books. I think I'm just looking for an excuse.

I've found that that happens to me alot as well. Whenever I see book ads, it makes me want to go out and read the book, and it usually gets me really hyped up about the book too. Like, for example, Shatter Me. I've heard pretty bad things about the book, but I'll probably end up reading it, because the ads are everywhere.
