I plan on watching the movie after I'm done with the book. The book is good so far. I think McMurphy's awesome!

I like The Magician's Nephew but I know a lot of people feel it doesn't belong with the rest of the series. It feels more of a stand alone book.

When I was a young mother almost 35 years ago I gobbled down Danielle Steel's books. Then came the day when I just couldn't read most of her books anymore. Still, there are some topics - her historical fiction for one thing which I still somehow enjoy. The premise of her latest book is one which I generally enjoy.

Jonathan - The Killing Floor is my first nbook by Lee Child and the first in his Jack Reacher series. So far I am really enjoying it and never thought I would. I have read almost all of Harlan Coben's books - both his series and stand alones and for the most part I love his books. Believe me you can't go wrong with either author. But if you read the series they have written I woild suggest reading them in order.

message 828: by Dani (new)

Dani currently finishing Catching Fire (book 2 of Hunger Games series) and reading All for Aaron by Markee Anderson (it's ok, not great not really what I expected but it was a free kindle book) and then also reading a library e book loan of Heaven is for Real which is about the Burpo family and their son who apparently died and came back to life with memories of heaven. It is very spiritual not "religious" but spiritual which is why I feel as though it has a nice angle as one who isn't all too religious and not into the christian faith books as I do not observe that religion myself.

message 841: by Marion (new)

Marion Hill (kammbia1) I'm about 3/4 of the way through The Book Thief by Markus Zusak by Markus Zusak.

It's a good, powerful story about a young girl growing up in Nazi Germany and steals books in order to read them. And it has been one of the most talked books in the last few years.

I must admit that I like it, but don't love it. I will post a full review on my blog in the next day or so.

message 842: by Marion (last edited Sep 01, 2012 02:43PM) (new)

Marion Hill (kammbia1) I'm just about done with White Butterfly by Walter Mosley . I will have a review on my blog next week.

However, I will be reading Tracks by Louise Erdrich .

Has anybody read her novels? I just wanted to see what others thought.

Thanks!

Marion Hill (kammbia1) I've finished reading two authors I've been wanting to read for a long time: Walter Mosley & Louise Erdrich.

I read White Butterfly by Walter Mosley and I like it.

But, I read Tracks by Louise Erdrich and it was beautifully written but I didn't find the story interesting.

1 for 2 is not bad...LOL!! Onto the next novel.
