Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) | 2140 comments My first LK book was Again The Magic by Lisa Kleypas . All her books are sheer magic!

message 53: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments This is such a hard question to answer because I think I read some of her earliest books, however, I didn't keep them and they were not memorable for me. Otherwise it would be either Midnight Angel (Stokehurst, #1) by Lisa Kleypas or When Strangers Marry (Vallerands, #1) by Lisa Kleypas

message 54: by Angela (new)

Angela (ladiromance) | 181 comments My first LK read was It Happened One Autumn (Wallflowers, #2) by Lisa Kleypas And it is still my favorite wallflower book. I just adore Marcus:)

message 55: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 4782 comments I liked Marcus a lot too. I liked how he changed his mind about the frequency/need of his carnal appetite. Ha!

message 56: by Angela (new)

Angela (ladiromance) | 181 comments I laughed so hard, I had tears in my eyes:) He just hadn't met the right woman!

message 58: by Beenile (new)

Beenile | 4 comments My first Lisa Kleypas book was Blue-Eyed Devil. Then I read Smooth-talking Stranger and I was totally hooked. I love the Wallflowers series and the Hathaways. My favourite hero is Nick Gentry, though I find almost all her heroes compelling.

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

The first Kleypas book I read was Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas . It was my first historical romance period and the rest of the wallflowers series got me hook.

message 60: by Carol (new)

Carol Storm (lilybits) | 52 comments My first Kleypas read was LADY SOPHIA'S LOVER. Back in the days when AOL had weekly romance chats, my friend Amy came online and told how great Kleypas' works were. When I didn't believe her, she mailed me a copy!

message 61: by Desiree M ~*~*~ (last edited Mar 22, 2011 10:42AM) (new)

Desiree M ~*~*~ LiveReadCollect (livereadcollect) | 286 comments I only started reading Kleypas books about a year ago. And the first book of LK's I've read was Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas .

I purposefully started out with SY because it was one of the few books she wrote that wasn't apart of a series. I'm sure when I go back and read it sometime in the future I'll see mentions of other characters from her other novels but it's not attached to any particular series. Plus I was in the mood to read a book that dealt with a younger man/older woman.

I am so glad I started with this one because I fell in love with the characters in SY and it made me want to read all the other books LK had written. :)

Shelly (shellye77) My first was Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas and I instantly fell in love with Simon! I was so hooked!

Incidentally Tess, I know I said I was gonna start it a few days ago, but really, tonight, I'm starting Someone to Watch Over Me (Bow Street Runners, #1) by Lisa Kleypas tonight! Just as soon as I get off Goodreads!!!

Carol Storm (lilybits) | 52 comments My first was LADY SOPHIA'S LOVER. This was back in the days when AOL had "romance reader" chats every Tuesday night. My AOL friend Amy sent me her extra copy all the way from Carolina!

MashJ | 733 comments I'm not 100% sure but I think it was Seduce Me at Sunrise. I saw it whilst browsing in Waterstones. It didn't particularly grab me first time round but I was interested enough to track down some of her other books. I have to say that SMAS is a far better read after Mine til Midnight (and has now grown on me) whereas I generally don't really worry what order I read a series in.Seduce Me at Sunrise

Mishj I'm one who also doesn't really worry about reading series in order. But LK is making me break that habit just cause I don't want to get 'spoiled' unintentionally when following the stories.

MTM was my second LK and it didn't grab me as much as I was hoping. Loved Cam but wasn't really enthralled w/ the love story, I found myself more interested in the other characters and family dynamics. Win and Kev's story is what convinced me to pick up the rest of the series. SMAS I thought was SO much better story-wise plus Win and Kev just won me over completely from the first book so yes I'm bias. lol

message 73: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (sadstrumpetjenny) My first was Make Mine Midnight - I got it off the shelf at the library, and as soon as I finished it I sent them an email telling them that it was cruel and unusual punishment to only have one book in the series!

message 74: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (odderie) | 25 comments My first one was Dreaming of You, which I read just this May! Needless to say, I have a lot of catching up to do. :)

message 75: by Lela (last edited Aug 10, 2011 08:01PM) (new)

Lela (lelasz) My first book was Secrets of a Summer Night. When I read the passage where Simon stole the kiss from Annabelle during the diorama, a fan was born. And a month later, when I read the first chapter of Devil in Winter, I knew I had to read every book Lisa Kleypas had written. :)

message 76: by Ellie (new)

Ellie | 4 comments The Devil In Winter, which I absolutely Loved. Now I'm scared to read another of her books incase they don't live up to this one!
Any recommendations?:)

Vashti, I agree about Again The Magic, that's my all time favourite as well. I always have to have a box of tissues ready whenever I read it, it's so heartrending.

Julie | 2 comments Just started reading her about a year ago. Don't know how I missed her before, must have been living under a rock. But I kept hearing great things about her Wallflowers series so I started with Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas and loved it. Since then I have read almost all of her books, and re-read most of them already :) Gotta say my fav, and its soooo hard to pick is Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas

Zumbagirl | 90 comments My first book was "Worth any Price" but my favorite is "Devil in Winter." But I am definitely hooked! I loved the Wallflower series and due to all the good reviews, I've ordered "Again the Magic" and plan to read it this week. I need to block out a day for it since everyone said it's a must to read straight through.

Evelyne | 5 comments My very first LK was. Married By Morning (The Hathaways #4) by Lisa Kleypas

message 88: by Zumbagirl (new)

Zumbagirl | 90 comments Lady Danielle, Yep, I'm a mess! I usually fall in love with an author and read all her books. Then it's hard to switch to someone new. But I've got a few new authors that I'm reading and loving it: Mary Balogh, Catherine Anderson, Sherry Thomas, Kathleen Woodiss and of course LK. And these groups are great to get ideas, but I'm still learning how to get around

message 89: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments I used to be more of a serial reader of a few authors, and I was happy at it. I'm glad I've discovered so many good books and authors. These online romance forums are indispensable for that, Zumbagirl!

message 90: by Mai (new)

Mai | 25 comments It was Seduce me at Sunrise and I was instantly HOOKED !!
After it I devoured all of her books and I am hungry for more ! Meanwhile I entertain myself with other authors who share some of her qualities like Elizabeth Hoyt and Mary Jo Putney and Jennifer Ashley .They are all awesome writers but nothing will satisfy me like a Lisa Kleypas book .
by the way my first language is Arabic but writers like Lisa made me adore your wonderful language !!

Hey Lily !
I loved the Raven Prince it was hot and very entertaining !
I think you will like To Beguile a Beast ..

I also LOVED The Rake by Mary Jo Putney !
her hero Reggie Davenporte was an alcoholic and very wicked (more he was completely debauched !!)
yet he had his moments of pain and vulnerability !I mean his struggle with drinking wow it was so real and touching !I neven read about a more intriguing hero in my life !!

message 95: by SandyC (new)

SandyC (sandyc88) I read Mine Till Midnight in the Summer of 2010. It was recommended to me in a Goodreads challenge.
I then read all of the Wallflowers, and I'm about to read book 3 of the Hathaways. I haven't tried her contemporary novels, but I'm sure I will once I make it through her historicals!

I love all of EH's books! Don't think you could go wrong with any of them. She is as good as LK in her writing and characters! Not to mention some amazingly steamy love scenes!

Heidi, I agree with you about EH. She's my next favourite author after LK. I've just finished Scandalous Desires and it is my favourite book of 2011. Her Maiden Lane series just gets better with every book!
