Slumber was good. It was realy confusing at first but after the first couple chapters I really started to get into it. I hope you enjoy it if you decide to read it. It was definitely an orginal story.

Bridget (mahvelousmeat) | 24 comments Just got back from the library with a new haul of books to read.

Positively by Courtney Sheinmel The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka Geography Club by Brent Hartinger Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1) by Beth Revis The Winter of Her Discontent (Rosie Winter, #2) by Kathryn Miller Haines The Revenge of the Radioactive Lady by Elizabeth Stuckey-French Nothing But the Truth and a few white lies by Justina Chen Headley Close to Famous by Joan Bauer Strawberry Tattoo (Sam Jones, #5) by Lauren Henderson The War Against Miss Winter (Rosie Winter, #1) by Kathryn Miller Haines

A couple of my Rainbow challenge books, a couple of random YAs that looked good, a couple of mysteries, and my obligatory classic :P (I read so much that I figure I should sprinkle some of the classics in there with my "fun books" and become more well-read in the process!)

I try to do the same (regarding the classics), but I can't seem to stay away from my fun reads!

Bridget (mahvelousmeat) | 24 comments Caryn wrote: "I try to do the same (regarding the classics), but I can't seem to stay away from my fun reads! "

I know! The classics, though they can be worthwhile in the end, often end up drawn out and difficult to get into. That's why I usually only get one classic per haul (which is usually around 10 books) and tell myself that I'm not allowed to read the book I'm most excited about until I finish my classic :P Last haul I had to finish Lolita before I could start Catching Fire; this time I have to finish The Metamorphosis before The Boyfriend List: 15 Guys, 11 Shrink Appointments, 4 Ceramic Frogs and Me, Ruby Oliver...it usually works out :P

Bridget: Good method! Sometime, get The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas . I had to read that in high school and it turned out to be one of my favorite books and very exciting. So you'll still be reading a classic, but you'll feel like you're cheating. :)

message 1490: by A book away from an episode of hoarders (last edited Sep 01, 2011 12:43PM) (new)

A book away from an episode of hoarders (fidgit77) | 29 comments On Monday I got Virals by Kathy Reichs from the library in audiobook and just today, in the mail, I received The Big Over Easy (Nursery Crime, #1) by Jasper Fforde , Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb and Heart of the Dragon (Atlantis, #1) by Gena Showalter .

I ordered The Darkest Whisper (Lords of the Underworld, #4) by Gena Showalter and The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld, #5) by Gena Showalter earlier this week and I'm not so patiently waiting for them to arrive.

message 1491: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Coleman | 11 comments Gena Showalter is absolutely fabulous. :D Not only are her books great, she was the first author I ever wrote to and she personally wrote me back. I still have that e-mail from years ago.

That's so awesome. I just got into the LotU series recently. The Darkest Night was given me to me by my aunt ages ago and I finally picked it up. Now I'm in the process of getting the rest of her books. lol
