Working on my Autumn challenge. Finished Nora Roberts Irish Rebel and started All Through the Night by Mary Higgins Clark. Will search out a book with Autumn in the title.
I am just starting The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, and finally got Wicked Lovely from the library, which will fulfill the Pick it for me Challenge! If I start anything else this weekend, I will probably pick Lady of Milkweed Manor or Murder at Mansfield Park
i'm only on CD 3 right now...but its not too bad...so the ending is a bit disappointing...noted...Drq wrote: "Delicious Dee Challenge Addict wrote: "finished up
today - really enjoyed it...also reading [bookcover:Caressed By Ice|4580..."
I just started a book where the heroine owns a knitting shop. The author used this phrase several times - 'blocking a shawl' - but never described what that meant so I had Google it. I'm tempted to dnf it just because of that...
I just finished a re-read of One Dance with a Duke (great book!) and have started Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord

If the author is heavy on the knitting terms but you don't knit, I can see why it would throw you out of the story. Having to look up a lot of terms would be a major annoyance.
i've vaguely heard of blocking a shawl, but nothing recently...ditto with blocking a quilt, but if i didn't have a vague idea it would probably pull me out of the book as well!i finished up
last night...i think Judd is one of my favorites so far...and I just got recommended book 4 in the PIFM for next month (and it fits in the Read the Month - M)...also reading My Fair Captain for some M/M...not too bad...
and started Beyond Reach (Karin Slaughter) last night...this is like book 6 in the series...i've read book 9 and now book 6, but none of the earlier ones...I should probably do that!
Finished
and Julia Quinn has officially become one of my favorite HR authors!! Also read
which was very disappointing and now I'm almost done reading
and I can't wait to finish it!!

The book deals with magic so for a while I thought it was some sort of spell thing. There were some knitting terms that I figured out so I just thought 'they're just talking knitting' and moved on but the first one bugged the hell out of me.
I finished it though and it was alright but I'm not sure I'll read the next book in the series.
finished
(graphic novel version, can't find it on Goodreads) and
. Started
and still listening to
on audio book.
@ Megan: do you ever have trouble keeping the plots of all the books straight? The reason I ask is that, although I read one book at a time (for the most part), I read an average of 15 per month and sometimes I draw a blank (!!!) when trying to remember specific parts of books I've read recently.
Does that ever happen when you are reading 4 at a time?

If I don't review a book right when I finish it I tend to get lost, lol. I'm so naive about my books, I always think I will remember all the details.
I usually read one at a time and listen to an audio book so I don't get overwhelmed. Usually if I'm reading a historical romance I'll listen to an Urban Fantasy on audio. That way the story don't get intertwined in my head.
I wondered if that was what you did, after looking at the titles you were reading. My problem right now is that I'm on a historical kick -- I don't seem to have a taste for anything but. Not bad, you'd think, except they are all starting to run together in my head - especially the ones that didn't really stand out.
The plus side is that my head is full of gorgeous, titled aristocrats running around in various stages of undress. Of course, I can't for the life of me remember who most of them are or what book they are from, lol!
I have finished
Seduced by Moonlight it was a little slower paced than the first two but I was glad of that. and
Vampires Are Forever I do love the Argeneau family.I have started
A Stroke of Midnight and
Blood Ties
I finished up
and am working on
- which is a murder-mystery-thriller set in Finland for my around the world challenge...Also working on
and
, and listening to

When I first started reading a lot it was all PNR and UF, and then I discovered my love for HR and quickly became addicted. It was hard to go back to reading PNR after that, lol. There is nothing like an Earl/Duke/Laird huh? ;)
I'm currently enjoying some of the early Linda Howard suspense-mystery romance titles. They're a bit hard to find, but that's part of the fun, I guess. The Cutting EdgeDiamond Bay

@ Megan: There is nothing like an Earl/Duke/Laird huh? ;) You are SO right -- unless they are a 6'6", black leather and shit-kicker wearing vampire, that is (lol).@ Melanie: Who needs names?:-p That's kinda what I was thinking!
I was on vacation last week and so didn't get a chance to check in here.Finished/Read:
A few comments:
Reviews for Linda Howard's Veil of Night have been mixed. Most people felt Jaclyn's reaction to being a suspect was irrational. Having similar trust issues for similar reasons, I could relate to her and felt the book was LH's usual great blend of romance, humor and suspense.
I had trouble getting into One Dance with a Duke. Reasons behind the heroes behavior almost came too late and I really didn't like him in the beginning.
The Blind Side was surprisingly good, I even enjoyed the bits about football history.
Victorious Star was stellar. LOL. Sorry, couldn't resist. But it really was a great read.
Viking in Love was a good solid romance. However, the opening was so funny I felt let down that the rest of the book didn't quite fulfill the promise.
Finished
and I really enjoyed it!! Also finished
and it is a new favorite!! Started
and so far so good...I love Tessa's sarcasm :)
I already finished a book today
. It was very good. Not as steamy as I thought it was going to be though. :)Next I'll start: World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War. Now that I read some historical romance, I feel ready for this, which is my Book Club pick. :)
I've Finished
Mistral's Kiss and like the last book I was disappointed I have started the next in the series
A Lick of Frost and so hope its as good as the first three and not the last two.

Dee what do you think of Pleasures? I read it a year ago and liked it except the ending. Most others I know thought it was too over the top but then..well I enjoy the wicked side of things
