Amy Is this a sequel to The Maze Runner?

message 57: by Angela Sunshine (new)

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) Amy wrote: "Is this a sequel to The Maze Runner?"

Yes. I didn't really love The Maze Runner or this one, but I think I liked this one better. It has a major cliffhanger ending like the first book though.

message 58: by Amy (new)

Amy I haven't read The Maze Runner yet. I had it, it got requested back at the library before I could start it.

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) Amy wrote: "I haven't read The Maze Runner yet. I had it, it got requested back at the library before I could start it."

I was hoping for more Hunger Games or Knife of Never Letting Go. Not on the same level, unfortunately. Good ideas, but some things just seem to happen too conveniently.

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) 4.20b Sweethearts by Sara Zarr (217 pages)
2011 Nominee for the Nebraska Evergreen YA Book Award

Total Points: 105
Total Pages: 2458

I notice that I jumped the gun with the 10 bonus points. The rules say they are awarded if ALL of the books are read within their correct month. Not 10 points PER month. Whoops! So I've corrected my point total here.

message 61: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments Okay, finished one and a half more tasks! :)

For 1.15 I read Guardian of the Gate which is a Gothic Victorian setting. (340 pages)

And I read one of the two books for 1.20 - Alien Invasion and Other Inconviences, published October 12th, (240 pages)

Total points: 70
Total pages read: 1,542

A little side-note - I'm dying to read The Scorch Trials and keep stopping myself from buying it. Must be patient for it to come in for me at the library!

message 62: by Amy (new)

Amy I didn't realize we get ten bonus points for reading the book in the same month. I read my first book The Dead and the Gone in October (for an October challenge) but didn't get the ten bonus points. :-(

message 63: by Angela Sunshine (new)

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) Heather wrote: "You get 10 bonus points if you do all the October tasks in October, and then another 10 if you do all the November tasks in November and then another 10 if you do all the December tasks in December..."

Ok, cool. That's how I understood it originally, but when I was looking at the rules again I interpreted it differently.

Then I need to re-add 10 points to my current total :)

message 64: by Amy (new)

Amy Oh, okay. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments The Lost Hero was AMAZING!!!!! :) Took place almost right after the Percy Jackson series with three new great characters. Definitely suggest reading it if you read the 5 book Percy Jackson series.

Okay, so I had a little readathon today and actually read three more books.

I read for task 1.5 Bloodthirsty, which is about a guy who pretends to be a vampire to get chicks.

Then I read The Mockingbirds for task 1.10 - because date-rape scares me and that is what the book was about.

And then I just finished Will Grayson, Will Grayson, which was for task 1.25 in observance of Gay and Lesbian Month.

They were all fantastic reads!

So, with the extra ten points, I have:

Total points: 130
