Ooh, I'm already halfway there and I'd forgotten about the challenge. (I got sick and spent the last weekend doing nothing but reading)

Urban Fantasy: Claimed By Shadow by Karen Chance

Other Fantasy: I have The Court of the Air by Stephen Hunt on my shelf. I think that's fantasy. It looks fantasy. Or First Rider's Call by Kristen Britain, but I read the first one several years ago and I'd want to reread that before I moved on to book 2.
New Author: The Innocent Mage by Karen Miller. Sister lent me the first two in this series a long time ago. It's about time I started reading them.

Optional Cover Hunt: I found two books in my TBR pile that will fit here, I think. Dragonne's Eg by Mary Brown and Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. One with a dragon; the other, a crow.

Not so sure about Steampunk or Dystopian. I read Carriger's latest as soon as it came out and am not too fond of the other Steampunk I've tried. And for Dystopian -- I'm pretty sure the library has so many holds on Mockinjay I won't get it until well after this is over, so that leaves me with 5 books as long as I remember to come back and check in as we go along.

The two I read during my sick weekend were Claimed by Shadow(10-2) and Embrace the Night(10-3).

4. New author-any genre: Three Days to Dead 10/7/10 ***1/2 I liked this book. It is just above average, in my opinion. Somewhat original premise. romance was ok to good. I thought this book had flashes of greatness, mixed in with uneven pacing and engaging charicters and a nice take on the fair ones. I am anxious to read next to see if it gets better or fades in to average.
