Ahhh yes see, with four hands it wouldn't be as big a concern for her as she could give herself a facial whilst doing the housework...hardly fair for the rest of us with only two hands! I bet on closer inspection you would find she also has an extra couple of feet...meaning she could always go the extra mile!! ;)

I've seen that one too. It is very disturbing.

Looks like our wonderful run of gorgeous weather is about to end:( With Rita and her snow gradually pushing its way north (it's already cold at home according to family) our sunshine is about to descend into coldness! Just as well I brought lots of winter clothes with us :/ But boy, mid winter; haven't we been lucky!

message 21816: by Neko (new)

Neko Wow! Waking up to snow for the second time this year...Way back in Jan and today in August!! Where i worked it was still open but many teachers n kids were away. It truly was an odd way to start the week off but also amazing. Thick snow on the car too xD

message 21817: by Ryan (last edited Aug 03, 2015 05:29AM) (new)

Ryan I went to the snow last Sunday - Mount Donna Buang is only a couple of hours drive from Melbourne. And I realised it's the first time I've ever seen snow in Australia.

message 21818: by Neko (new)

Neko it really is strange how it's all been polar opposites. They've mentioned the possibility of more snow on Weds for us.

Has anyone else noticed that you need to keep an eye on your quotes section on your profile page. Twice now I have had to delete quotes that I did not put there. It's easy to do but a bit irritating.

message 21834: by Marianne (new)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9986 comments I have just returned from an emergency visit to an ophthalmologist. My GP got me in yesterday as I was having "floaters and flashes" in my left eye, which had increased in the last week. Dr. Google says this can be a sign of retinal tear or retinal detachment. Scary!!

And with us flying off to UK and Italy 3 weeks today!

This lady was very good, very thorough, and reassured me that, at the moment, there is no sign of tear or detachment, but she wants to see me again before we go, or if things deteriorate.

The floaters is apparently a fairly common thing with ageing, when the gel inside the eye starts to pull away from the inside of the eyeball.

So at sixty, a Seniors Card and floaters in my eye. I like the Seniors Card a lot more than the floaters!

I will sleep a lot better tonight!

That happened to me last year. I spent the whole of the Saturday at the Sydney Eye Hospital. They told me the same as you. It's one of those age things but it could be serious so must be checked. The flashes went away after a couple of weeks. I didn't go back to get it re checked, but it's on my to do list. :)
