We have some clever people here, Kelly. That's very clever, I really like it!

Oh dear - what a freak accident! At least you can get the screen replaced but what an inconvenience.

I hope we can all meet up again Veronica, sooner rather than later :))))))

Oh no! That's bad luck Suzanne:( Can it be replaced easily and cheaply?

that's so strange Suzanne! Your daughter should be a detective. What a mystery to solve. The insurance company will nod their head slowly at that one.
Thanks for your encouragement re my upcoming website.

Author website will be up soon.

Brenda, thank you for the advice, an Author Spotlight. Will do. x

how annoying for you! I hope you can get it fixed/replaced quickly. Is that worth claiming on insurance?

No, I don't normally do the readathons.

Yeh, I will check it out. I am going into Southbank and the Art Gallery so I will duck in there. I have a strict rule for myself that I only buy books that I want to own. So hopefully I won't get tooooooo many :P

Yeah - but then I've got to keep track of how many pages I'm reading in each book, and one's an audio - it just seems like too much hard work!!
Lol! That's why the books have page counts here on GR Kathryn :) To make it easier for us all ;)

That's a good rule that I normally stick to as well. But in the presence of so much excess, I might be tempted beyond my abilities to refuse!

Not much easier, because I still have to work out the % of what I've listened to, and then go and find out the page count for the actual book and work out how many actual pages I've listened to according to the percentage... Not to mention keeping track of what page numbers I started at in my other "proper" books that I'm reading! But...I guess I could do it for a change... I'll head over to thread now.

I did see some comments along those lines! But I think now you've got a couple more participants, including me, so it won't be the devil's number anymore!! In fact, it should only be around 620 books now, by my calculations!!

What a disaster Suzanne. Hope you can get it fixed. Do you have another computer at home you can use in the meantime?

.."
Brenda will do those in no time!! ;D

I'm not too sure if it's feasible, as it's a $600 laptop. Need to look into it.. I have an iPhone 6 and and iPads, as well as the kids having two iPad minis. My husband hid them from 3yo Indy and can't find them! Have I mentioned the word 'crazy' when it comes to my family? There is also a desktop in the office but that is outside in the garage - so adding books etc isn't enjoyable as it's too cold!!! It's managable though. I really shouldn't be complaining I guess!

Yikes! Talk about bad luck. I hope the repair isn't too expensive.

Suzanne, do you not have Find iPhone/iPad set up? That will locate them in a jiffy. And if you don't, I highly recommend you setting it up on all your Apple devices. If you need any help, sing out.

Good thinking Vicki! ;)

They were everywhere! We were lucky the space was empty with not many customers :)

oooh you've reminded me Vicki. We do have the kids phones set up, it's very good! But by now the ipads would be flat as it's been a couple of weeks... but when I do find them I'm going to set them up. Thanks Vicki you're our IT guru :)) What do you think about fixing screens? I do have an IT guy to ask but haven't gotten around to it. I'm thinking excess etc isn't worth it at all.

Haven't looked into it yet Marianne, will be on my list to do next week. Excess probably not worth it though.
Have a great Sunday everyone:) Yes, I was in bed reading Carolyn;) Best place for me to do it! Get lots done there.....
I finally gave in and invested in a Kindle after years of reading with a kobo - now I have to wait for the mailman to bring me my kindle [waiting ever so patiently ... of course].

Will it be a noticeable difference Melissa?

friends who have used both say they prefer Kindle. I was in the market for a new ereader [Kobo on the blink]. Also, in terms of content and deals there is noticeably more available for Kindle.

I never hated my Kobo per say - but it needs to rebooted often and regularly due to freezing. Also, the page turning is quite laggy.

Good to know. I have a kindle but never knew the pros and cons...though I do like it...and I also have the kindle App on my ipad and ipod so my books get downloaded to all three without extra cost ;) so if one is running low on battery I can always switch over. It's also convenient as you are rarely without a book.

Gotta love that! ;)

I have the kindle apps too as well as the Kobo apps - however, I cannot read on tablets, phones, laptops, etc. I can't focus on the book.
