Dale, glad your DH's eye op went well.
I have just delivered my DH to the Emergency Dept with Atrial Flutter (again!!). Left him there as there's no point both of us sitting there waiting for who knows how long. He is au fait enough to know what to tell them, not in pain, just uncomfortable. Either they cardiovert him again, or they admit him. I will hear soon enough. Meanwhile, get the washing in, make the beds etc, instead of sitting on uncomfortable plastic chairs in Cas.

Oh dear, hope all goes well, Marianne.

Oh Marianne, thank goodness you know he will be in good hands! Well wishes to you both and I hope they can get him settled this time.

That's no good Marianne. Hope he's Ok and home again soon.

It's no fun getting older but we have the best medical in Australia. They are very good at patching you up and keeping you ticking, as my step father would say.

I just spoke to him, in ED, he's having infusions and so forth, possibly a cardioversion but nothing definite yet.
Says he walked into ED and it was absolutely packed, walked up to the window where the woman greeted him by name: someone he took for a P-course on the motorcycle range. Small world!

Oh dear Marianne! Such a worry... hope he'll be alright!

I have had the most wonderful afternoon in the company of the three authors and lots of people! I have put some photos in the photo thread if anyone is interested in a look:)

Thanks. Julie and Suzanne. all fine.

That's good news about your husband's eye op, Dale. I hope it's a short recovery.

Oh, Marianne, you must be beside yourself with worry. At least he's in the best place, small consolation as that is.

Thanks Vicki. He is fine now. It wasn't major.
How is your DH now Marianne?

He's fine, just frustrated with waiting. They couldn't do a cardioversion last night as there was no-one to do it. I guess if we are lucky, they will do it today or tomorrow, then he can come home again.
I hope the ablation can be done sooner rather than later.... it will prevent episodes like this.

Yes - hope there is someone on hand today to do whatever your hubby needs done, Marianne. And I hope he enjoys your salad roll and cheese and vegemite sandwich!
And good to hear your husband is all sorted, Dale.
Hope everyone has a great weekend - gorgeous weather here in Brisbane, although perhaps just a little too warm considering tomorrow is the first day of winter...

Yes,Kathryn, Brisbane's weather is gorgeous. Apart from the cool nights summer has not faded.

Raining and miserable here... at least the garden is getting a drink! Though why it'd need it after the floods a few weeks ago....

Now to go and catch up on what's been happening!

Prayers that is all done sooner rather than later Mariannr. I bet he will enjoy some decent food instead of hospital food.
Thanks , yes all good here Kathryn.

Sorry to hear that Sally. Headaches and migraines make life difficult. Undergoing similar myself at present.

And hopefully that ablation's going to happen very soon, Marianne.

Always good to have some new books to look forward to buying :)

Have fun Dale:)
Have fun Dale:)

It's not exactly chuck it all in and walk away but seems to involve a periodic stirring but I guess it's cooking as it combines.
2 x 200g blocks of dark cooking chocolate broken up into small pieces, 1 x 395g tin of condensed milk, 1 Tbsp butter, 1Tbsp of either vanilla essence for plain fudge or 1 Tbsp peppermint essence for minty fudge .
Add all ingredients to the slow cooker, lid off, and on low temperature setting. Stir every 15 mins until everything's has combined (this can take from 45 mins - 2 hours depending on air temp, how fast your slow cooker heats, how big choc pieces) and then scoop into a tin lined with baking paper and put in the fridge for a few hours until set, cut and enjoy.

After some discussion, they decided to discharge him with the recommendation that he be put on the cancellation list to have the ablation done.
So Sunday I'm just leaving home around 11 to go give Mum her lunch, making sure I would be there on time this week, I get a phone call: I'm being discharged. When? Now. OK, wait out the front, I'll collect you and we'll head to Mum.
Made it to Mum's in time to be considered a good daughter. I happened to have that salad roll and the cheese & vegemite sandwich with me, so DH could have lunch too. And my dear sister was kind enough to drive DH home while I continued with the Sunday chores for Mum.
When I got home, he was abed. Learned later he had thrown up lunch. TMI, you say, but this is relevant to the next bit.
Today he goes to the GP, relates his weekend adventures, GP checks pulse, BP, it seems his heart has reverted to the proper rhythm. GP thinks it may have been the big vomit, as this or coughing can put the atria in or out of flutter.
So now the running joke is that I will have to make him a salad roll next time his atria go into flutter....
