B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) I was getting some notifications from other groups but None from Aussie Readers. I thought: "oh no, they've kicked me out!" lol:) Was relieved to read it was a 'site wide' problem.

Leonie (leonierogers) | 3569 comments I had a sudden reduction in notifications, but I thought it might have been me being so slow to catch up with everything after last week. That happens occasionally - but I'm still getting only the occasional notification, rather than the vast quantities I normally get.

(No, it's not what you think :)
Last Tuesday's earthquake held my guide hostage in Kathmandu for a week. Blocked roads, landslides and continuing tremors settled yesterday.
Now on five day walk home with Aussie donated supplies for his Himalayan village.
Yay!

Put them on your wish list with Amazon - they may go down in price by the time you're ready to read them Rita:) It's often the way that you'll outlay the money, and they go on special the following week (or something!)

I dither over some and others I just purchase straight away and then I get annoyed with myself when I see it cheaper later. But it's nice to just buy sometimes if you reeeaaaalllly want it. :)

message 19886: by Deb (new)

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments I dither for ages, then I finally get over the dithers and I overspend! I then get the books, consume them, feel really guilty for blowing the budget and dither for a few months before buying anything else... Then, repeat the cycle.

I am currently in between the overspending part and actually receiving the books, but the guilt has already kicked in.

It just depends how you want to use it personally Rita. I know we all use it a little differently. For myself, I have a wish list as I know it means I don't own it yet and wish to. It will still be on my TBR as I still want to read it. Whereas if I own a book it'll be on my TBR only (plus the other shelves I use) Does that make sense?

message 19890: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 89 comments I'm the same as Brenda - my TBR list are books I actually own - either physically or electronically. My wish list is books I want to read but don't own yet - many of these I get throusgh the library, or they are coming out later so I stick them on my wish list shelf to remind me :)

That is where books come in handy - no notifications? Read a book! Internet dodgy? Read a book.

I love books :)

Whereas my TBR usually won't be books I own, as once I have them I read them. So my TBR consists of books I want to get from the library or buy.I don't use the wish list.
