Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9987 comments Really enjoyed the series on the ABC Sat nights Last Tango in Halifax (heard they are doing a 2nd series, yay!) but now it's finished, Murder In Paradise will return, another great Brit series. I look forward to 7.30 Sat night viewing lately.

I loved Last Tango in Halifax. Didn't miss an episode and will be very happy if they make another series. I thought it was extremely well written - the dialogue was brilliant.
I enjoyed Murder in Paradise when it was on before too. Have you read any Malla Nunn books? They are very similar - different countries but the same bumbling out of place type of detective.

Emily E (emily_e1) | 347 comments I'll get some photos up soon, I have some on my phone. For the moment I'm just readjusting my routine to walk them enough every day and all the other extra doggy related things. Soon (if I don't collapse in a big heap!) I'll have some dedicated computer time to myself ;)

message 8326: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments Congratulations Katie - wonderful news :)

No Brenda, sadly it seems that when my husband and I split he took Gypsy with him and even though he never wanted either of the kittens in the first place he is now being spiteful and refusing to return her. I can only hope he won't mistreat her but I have a nasty suspicion he will likely dump her at the pound - I'm keeping watch for her daily on their website and also by phone, I've explained my situation, so maybe with a little luck I'll one day have her back. Dax, the male, in the meantime seems to grow nearly every day - he is going to be a very big cat indeed but he's not fat - just a very big boy. Not really surprising as Manx cats can grow as large as a small/medium dog. I just hope he will adjust well when the puppy finally arrives but I've never had any problems before so I'm not really anticipating any this time - it's just a matter of introducing them the right way and making sure you devote equal time to both animals.

Anyway hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day and gets thoroughly spoilt. :)

Sharon Robards (sharonrobards) | 944 comments You'd think they would have split it up so 300 people could have won or something LOL - it is such a ludicrous amount of money that couldn't possibly make anyone happy.

message 8348: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80169 comments Mod
Totally agree Sharon! It's a crazy way to run things...

message 8349: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Alley (traceya) | 485 comments Lotto and other things that offer tremendous amounts of money in winnings so often go bad in the end. I've heard many, many tales of people who've won millions only to end up broke within a few years. Makes you wonder how that happens but my niece J mentioned to me once that people have a 'money IQ' - essentially a set of values and attitudes towards money that remains constant regardless of how much money you actually have.

Of course if anyone wants to give me $300 million I'll be sure to spend it extravagantly :)

message 8350: by Emily (new)

Emily E (emily_e1) | 347 comments I can't imagine it would make me UNhappy...
