Red Riding Hood just came in the mail. I recently learned how exciting ordering books online is...everyday I look forward to seeing those packages stuffed into the mailbox.

Before it can get to it I have to read the dead-tossed waves and a couple other books. Just started TDTW and I'm liking gabry a lot better than Mary...I'm only on page 12.

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 177 comments HAHA!!! I felt the same way, Patti!

I thought TDTW was great. Much better than the first.

Kim | 20 comments I just started Passing Strange by Daniel Waters. Has anyone read this series so far? This book is told from a different character's point of view and I'm not feeling it yet.

message 58: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 177 comments I have read the series. I liked how it's told from Karen's POV. It gives some insight about what she is going through as a zombie. But that's just me. It gets a little better. It's not the best one in the series, but I liked it well enough.

message 59: by Kim (new)

Kim | 20 comments I am liking it the further I get into it. Thanks!

Alright just finished it... Way better than FOHT but I do have a major problem with it! Why is it that whenever they confess their love, someone falls off a cliff or gets chomped on by a Mudo/Unconsecrated? Grrr...anyway I'm excited for the dark and hollow places! Currently reading Moonlight (Dark Guardian, #1) by Rachel Hawthorne

lol, I've also discovered the wonders of ordering online recently because my Borders is going out of business :( Thankfully, they still have their store online. Its wayyy cheaper too.

Oh,and I'm about to start---> Afterlife by Claudia Gray after I finish Cryer's Cross by Lisa McMann

message 64: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 177 comments @Patti: I literally took about five mins to calm myself down! I noticed the same thing about the books! :D

And I am going to watch Red Riding Hood tomorrow! Couldn't Friday because I was house sitting. And no one wants to go! So tomorrow it is! :D I'm excited!

Err my eye won't stop twitching. It's three am here...I stayed up to read moonlight...i don't know why it wasn't even the best book ive ever read. ...must sleep...

@Camilla- thank goodness I'm not the only one who thought that too!

@Danielle- my borders is closing too. I used to go there all the time. They gave more coupons than b&n. At least there'll be a going out of business sale.

Just finished nightshade. It was amazing!

message 67: by Becca (new)

Becca (BeccaHandley) | 8 comments Got that one my reading pile. Will move it up if it's that good. I'm reading Virals right now.

message 68: by Patti, The Reader (new)

Patti | 327 comments Mod
The things that bothered me about nightshade were the inevitable love triangle and how calla is supposed to be the alpha, but she doesn't always act like one. Other than that it was definitely worthy of four or five stars!

No problem! Currently reading Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare anyone read it yet?

message 71: by Becca (new)

Becca (BeccaHandley) | 8 comments Got to read the ARC - want to re-read it!

message 72: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 177 comments Flipping A. I just got done with a few books and FINALLY starting on a book that I bought about 2 months ago! Throat by R.A. Nelson

message 73: by Kim (new)

Kim | 20 comments @Patti-Loved it! I thought I'd miss Jace, but Will more than makes up for it!

Just started Cloaked by Alex Finn. Was more interested in Beastly, but it was checked out. Literally have barely begun it, but seems interesting enough.

message 74: by Patti, The Reader (new)

Patti | 327 comments Mod
Not sure how I feel about Clockwork Angel. Not really liking Tessa. If she can turn into people, why didn't she just turn into Miranda and walk out? Even though Miranda isn't technically human…but still! Will is quite entertaining though.

Alright I caved after seeing the previous comments about Sing Me to Sleep by Angela Morrison . A borders near me was having a 50% off sale and it was just sitting there all alone on the shelf. So I got it!

Still reading clockwork angel but another 3 a.m.er and it should be done!

message 76: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 177 comments Patti, I hope you like it! And have Kleenex handy, fyi!

I've read all those except Uglies and Torment (which is currently sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read :)) and they're all really good! I hope you like them as much as I did :) I liked Vampire Academy the best.

I'm currently read Afterlife by Claudia Gray ---> [bookcover:Afterlife|10394702] Afterlife (Evernight Series #4) by Claudia Gray

message 78: by Alice (new)

Alice (aliciairene) I'm about to start with Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris . I loved the movie, so when I saw the book at the bookstore, lucky me, I bought it.

message 79: by Patti, The Reader (new)

Patti | 327 comments Mod
@K.C.- Uglies was great. The rest of the series is, too, except for Extras.

My to-read shelf is full but I don't know what to read after Shadow Hills. Any thoughts?
Pathfinder (Serpent World, #1) by Orson Scott Card The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan Guardian of the Gate (Prophecy of the Sisters, #2) by Michelle Zink Wake (Dream Catcher, #1) by Lisa McMann Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand At the Sign of the Sugared Plum by Mary Hooper Misguided Angel (Blue Bloods, #5) by Melissa de la Cruz Sing Me to Sleep by Angela Morrison Other Words for Love by Lorraine Zago Rosenthal Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 177 comments @Patti: I have read Wake, Sing Me to Sleep, and Linger. Of those three I liked Sing Me to Sleep the best. But that's not to say that the others aren't better.

Here is the list I plan on reading in April... Wish me luck!

Unbelievable (Pretty Little Liars, #4) by Sara Shepard Wicked (Pretty Little Liars, #5) by Sara Shepard Intertwined (Intertwined, #1) by Gena Showalter Beastly by Alex Flinn Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins Eternal (Tantalize, #2) by Cynthia Leitich Smith Blessed (Tantalize, #3) by Cynthia Leitich Smith Impossible by Nancy Werlin Teach Me by R.A. Nelson Always a Witch (Witch, #2) by Carolyn MacCullough ... I am pretty sure that's the list I have. :D

So many good choices...many are my current favs! I'd suggest Unearthly if you have some time as once you pick it up, you won't want to put it down!

message 82: by Becca (new)

Becca (BeccaHandley) | 8 comments Went to the bookstore and came home with some goodies...rolled the dice and The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff was the winner

message 83: by Patti, The Reader (new)

Picked up Linger since that's the one thats been on my shelf the longest. Then I hope to read Unearthly because thats another thats been on it for a while.

@Camilla: You have Always a Witch, did you read the first? How was it? I've been wondering. It seemed really interesting. And the PPL books were great! They're like a soap opera!

@Becca: Definitely post how you liked the Eagle! It's another I'm debating on getting.

Really love the Wolves'series - good choice. 37 pages into the Eagle --- have to say that it reads like a Roman history book BUT I'm getting into Marcus's plight

message 85: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 177 comments @Patti: I have read the first one (Once A Witch). I liked it. I hope Always a Witch is as good or better! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE how the PLL books are SO different from the show! It's as if I am reading alternate endings and such! :D

message 86: by Patti, The Reader (new)

Patti | 327 comments Mod
At first I was mad because the cast was SO different from the book! Emily was a blonde! Spencer was a blonde! Hannah was a brunette! Then they introduced random people like Caleb! But they are like two completely different series.

message 87: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 177 comments Bah! I know! I like it, but then I don't. It makes for good tv. But I am so lost as to where we are even at in the books! And (view spoiler) What the frank!?!?!?!? Geeze!

message 88: by Patti, The Reader (new)

Patti | 327 comments Mod
They're definitely taking liberties. Because of reading the books, I think I know what'll happen, but then it gets turned around and I have no idea what's going on.

Reading Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand . Not sure how I feel about it yet...

I LOVE IT SO MUCH THAT I MIGHT ACTUALLY FINISH IT!!!!!!!!! Also, I'm putting the cover up cause I love it.
Nevermore (Nevermore, #1) by Kelly Creagh

Is it really that good? Just read the summary and Varen is a respelling of Raven…I guess I'm just stating the obvious! I don't understand what's different about Raven- eh Varen. What is he? Supernatural?

message 91: by ~Tormiester~, The Writer (new)

~Tormiester~ (hatsoff343) | 363 comments Mod
......So that's why his name is Varen.... That makes sense! And I can't tell you what he is so =^p
(....I don't know myself...yet)

And it is! I just freaked out because it mentioned the poem Annabell Lee (which I adore) and right now, the character Isobel is starting to look real and different. She's shifting...and I'm all for it! That girl wasn't at all like her "friends" and her personality didn't fit what she was.

I'm not sure whether to read COFA but you guys have got to let us know how it is!

@Camilla: That book is sooo good! The series kinda took a turn for the worst after Unbelievable but Wicked is pretty good.

Reading Misguided Angel (Blue Bloods, #5) by Melissa de la Cruz . A little apprehensive because almost all the POVs are Mimi's…I'm also gonna miss Kingsley.

message 99: by Dystinee (Kayla) (new)

Dystinee (Kayla) (dystinee24) City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare was GREAT!! Be prepared for a huge cliffhanger though...and we have to wait about a year for the next book.

Does Maya get any spotlight in COFA? I always liked her, even though she wasn't a huge character.
