Comprehensive How To Use Goodreads + Tips Of The Day

Yes just tried it - books read now showing as 94 instead of 93 - whoo hoo!!!!
Thank you

What I do is review another edition of the book, so if you look at my list you'll notice free different versions of Frankenstein; one for each time I've read it

I'll bear that in mind for next time :)

CHANGING FONT AND STYLE
Most GR users want to know how to make text bold..."
Thanks Mandy, I've been mucking around here for a few weeks and that's the best info I've come across

Glad you find this thread helpful Peter...Mandy is no longer in the group, but if you have any questions, just ask and there are any number of us who will help you out.

You're welcome!

Not sure how that works Khenan...mine is way out! But maybe your 341, plus the currently reading 1 is what it is? I think the only way...which would be long and tedious, would be to click on the 342 and print all those, then click on the 341 and print those, then do the comparison O_O!!! I know there have been many threads in the Feedback group about numbers not corresponding, so I'm not sure if it's a bug, or if there's another way they calculate it....

Including; find duplicates and most read authors
Thanks so much for that! I'm just going through and deleting some...other than the ones I've actually read twice:)

Just spotted this tip - thanks - I had two duplicates that have been fixed up now :)

In "My Books", at the top-right next to the search bar is a Stats button which allows you to see how many pages you've read for the year and some other neat stuff.

Deb, I'm afraid there is no way within GR (at the moment) to specify a re-read. If you go to the feedback group, there is continual and ongoing requests for being able to show your re-reads. Hopefully something will be done about it, sooner rather than later. In the meantime, all you can do is use a work around of some kind...record it yourself until such time as you can do it with tools provided by GR.

But I agree, I'd like to be able to re-read a book and have it show up on my update feed.
Thanks Liam, I have just added that helpful hint to our BASIC thread http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

Thats a shame. Hopefully this minor glitch will one day be remedied. Thanks Brenda for your friendly help.

I can't see it on Sharon's profile either Liam...is it because she's an author, therefore her profile is different to the readers' profiles?

Here's a screenshot showing its location on your own profile, anyway. I'm not sure how you'd do it as an author profile if the above doesn't work.

The same trick works with stars too -- ★ and ★. The & has to be litterally '&' but will display correctly.

Go to 'My Books'
Create a shelf called 'Favourite'
At the top of your bookshelf click 'Edit'
From there tick 'Feature' where your Favourite is
Hope that works

But, I've just checked a couple of writers I know and they don't seem to have a featured or favourite shelf...I wonder why we can't have one??? Where do I need to go guys to find out how we can fix it or suggest that we would like a favourite shelf too. I would actually prefer a favourite shelf than my blog showing up straight under my profile for no other reason than it looks consisitent and I appear to have no favourite books :(

Good luck Sharon, the Feedback Group should have some answers for you...perhaps you can let us know when you do:)
