UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments It's not that it's bad, it just started good, then tapered off, and it wasn't until much later that it got better again. Just too much internal dialog for me.

See, I read a book by her called Let Me Love You by Mary Wine and I'm not a huge fan of the internal dialog, but in this book it was necessary as the heroine lived and worked alone at a mill. There was NO ONE to talk to most of the time. But with TCaH, there could have been more actual dialog as there were plenty of people around.

message 54: by Alycia (new)

Alycia | 1478 comments I think I'll stay away from To Conquer a Highlander, I have enough other books to read :)

Thanks so much Dhestiny! And my dear, you have read everything, lol. I thought I read everything, but not true, every time I look up a book lately I go straight to your review because you have already read it. We also usually have the same opinions most of the time on books and ratings.

message 55: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Alycia, it FEELS like I've read everything, until I start looking at updates and find dozens of more books I want to read! LOL I agree that we seem to see eye to eye on books. That makes it very handy when I go looking for something and see that you've rated. I know whether to go for it, or run from it :)

UM, I agree with you on this one. It was a first Wine for me and I wasn't impressed.

Now . . .for my September challenge.
1. Read Historical works of previously read Paranormal authors.
Brenda Novak
Christina Dodd

2. Read TOTALLY new author
Tessa Dare (on a side note, did you know that you could type TESSA DARE with only one hand? Kewel! LOL!)
Patricia Rice

3. Begin a new series
One Dance with a Duke (Stud Club, #1) by Tessa Dare
Twice Tempted by a Rogue (Stud Club, #2) by Tessa Dare
Three Nights with a Scoundrel (Stud Club, #3) by Tessa Dare

All of those tie in with my Spell September Challenge and the September Book Discussion. Whew . . .that was hard work y'all!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Great list, Mandy. So, are you counting being able to type TESSA DARE with one had as part of the challenge? ;)

I am, actually! LOL!

I just found it fun. I like finding words I can do that with. It's really cool that you do her ENTIRE name! LOL! I wonder if she knows this? I'm sure she does as she probably types it quite often . . .LOL!!

Anyway . . .rambling ended.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Wow! Very nice list, Beverly and very challenging, too! I'm hoping I can get through my 9.

message 82: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Okay... Mine will be two-fold. I'm going to try an author I've never read and make a nick in my TBR mountain. I have 8 books by Teresa Medeiros, so I'll read those.

1. Charming the Prince
2. After Midnight
3. Some Like it Wicked
4. One Night of Scandal
5. A Kiss to Remember
6. Touch of Enchantment
7. Some Like it Wild
8. Once an Angel

Any suggestions on where to start would be much appreciated!!

message 83: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I've only read one book by her, Yours Until Dawn so I'm of no help. Sorry!

message 84: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Did you like the book? I have a habit of buying books because they're cheap or have a great cover lol! I hope I haven't committed myself to a bunch of books that will make me want to poke my own eyes out!!

message 85: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I paid like 50cents at a library sale for it. I did like it for the most part, but there were things I didn't.... I just went and checked my review, and you're welcome to read it as well - the spoilers are marked - and again, I liked it... 4 stars, but I didn't LOVE it.

message 86: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 718 comments Nissie, I'm with UM: the only book by Teresa Medeiros I've read so far was Yours Until Dawn and it was also a 4-star read to me. Very good for the most part, but a plot twist near the end drove me nuts.

message 87: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Yeah... I wasn't all on board with that either. But again, entertaining.

message 88: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Thanks guys! I can handle 4-star reads. I wish I had the one both of you have read. Oh well, we'll see how it goes :):)

message 89: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'm sure someone else will pop in and be able to help you.

message 90: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert I don't know where my manners have been tonight! I didn't even say "Thank you" for inviting me to participate in the challenges. That just goes against my upbringing and southern sensibilities! Soooo... Thanks for inviting me!

message 91: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments LOL You're welcome, Nissie... you polite southern lady, you! Cheryl's from the south too... but she's not polite. She's a tart. And I'm not talking fruit tarts, if you get my meaning **wink, wink**

message 94: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert Weeelll...I guess that all depends on who you ask ;)! I like to think not lol!

message 95: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments LOL!! If I hear anything to the contrary, I'll be sure and post it here for all the world to see ;)

message 96: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert LOL!! Okay, I'll take that under advisement! I would say I'll try not to let you down, but I don't know which way that would be :)

message 97: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I vote for whichever might be most entertaining. It's YOUR reputation, not mine on the line ;)

message 98: by Nissie Lambert (new)

Nissie Lambert I love to entertain!! But remember my upbringing? LOL! However, I will try to provide some amusement.

message 99: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Thanks, Nissie! You have a good night. I'm heading to bed for some much needed beauty rest.
