What are you working on?
I'm working on a comic thriller, I think - I never have the slightest idea what a book is until I reach the end of the first draft and I'm just at the beginning. At the moment, it's a fish out of water story with a side dish of international intrigue. Seasoned with paprika.
I am working on a novel that will bring awareness to the issue of domestic violence. I posted the prologue and first chapter on FB. Feel free to read it and tell me what you think. Thanks! http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/t...
Thanks Ted. A comic thriller sounds interesting. Have you ever read, the comic book, "The Eaters?" It's about a family of cannibals. It's more funny than anything. I'll check out your page, Darlne

Actually, I should add that I'm just trying to block out a first draft on the comic thriller and then I'll go back and work on the sequel to the thriller that's out, Mindbenders. Both tales focused on the cream of the Soviet Union's mind control program, now fighting an evil corporation that's selling mind control services to both government and big business (on a billable hours basis, like doctors and lawyers). It's actually pretty chilling-the banality of evil. Hannah Arendt would love it.

I am currently working on my second novel, THE EYE OF SALYNIN, which is a sequel to my first, DARK VENGEANCE.Check out DARK VENGEANCE here...

In the Prologue of DARK VENGEANCE, it is mentioned that the evil god, Myngor, gouged out the right eye of Salynin, the god of magic and knowledge, during the Gods-War. The Myngorians now seek the eye, to bring it to their banished god and free him. Our heroes must find the eye before it ends up in Myngor's hands. Also searching for the eye are the armies of the evil Kingdom of Zor, who have their own motives.
As an unpublished novice with much hope I've been working on this collection of poetry/gibberish for years. I've appropriately titled it Poetry...I think. Here's a few: http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/2...
I just finished another Blackthorne, Inc. romantic suspense, DANGER IN DEER RIDGE, and have started working on a third book in my Pine Hills Police series.Danger in Deer Ridge

Ellan, Sullivan and his mother use subtlety to push the royal family to the brink. Even the Guardians are impacted by the dark machinations. Only Tristine and Darius suspect his mother's true identity. But their efforts to warn Ellis fail, reduce the Guardians in numbers and forces Tristine to flee.

I am working on my second book about my time in Iraq. I did six tours all in all and have so far had one book released. That book was about my second tour. The book about my first tour cannot come out for a few years due to legal reasons, but I am working on the book about my third tour.
Still working on Rehatching, Book 3 of my Draconia series. Last night, or early this morning, I finished Chapter 9 and a space battle that the good guys lost. Now, the lizard-like Norseen are about to invade Draconia.Things are not looking good for my protagonists.
My second novel "The Darkness of Perfection" was released yesterday. I'm already getting positive response!Thank you to everyone who reads!
My next book to get ePublished will be SHADA, a prequel short novel to EMBER. I'm hoping to get SHADA out in July.
I'm currently working on the plan for my next book, a sci fi thriller called Serial Psyence. I'm also writing blog posts, where I'm working on a nonsense piece, just for fun.As with my first novel, Liberator's Ruin, I'm planning to self publish it.

My publisher is putting together a Holiday anthology this year, and I'm working on my contribution. I'm resurrecting the characters from my debut novel, Hidden Threat, for this one. Readers will get to see Matthew and Cali's first Christmas together.
In the process of publishing my first short story on Smashwords. This isn't part of the Adventures of Crackle & Bang series, but a short story I did that was originally podcast on the Every Photo Tells... podcast. Will go up as soon as I get the cover art finished.Doc
I'm putting the finishing touches on my fantasy novel told through short stories, Ruined City and working on a Gothic horror/paranormal/revenge/romance book, called Gothic Cavalcade.
Although Amazon started selling it early, my memoir had its official release this week. Media interviews and such have consumed most of my energies of late. A nice review that came out yesterday is here.
I'm actually working on My Mom Your Dad. If you want you can check the story out. I'm just following along as the characters tell me where to go. ^_^http://www.booksie.com/young_adult/no...
Have you ever had a crush on someone and just didn't have the courage to approach them? Hylla Koeing had a crush on Bryce Tyler and Bryce Tyler had a crush on Hylla Koeing. Unfortunately they didn't have the courage to approach the other one so they walked around Central High never revealing their like for each other. Even worse, one day they come home from school to a special family caucus only to find out that they are soon to be brother and sister when his dad marries her mother and the two adopt each other's kids? Is it okay to kiss your sister?
I don't know about everyone else but I find I have too many projects that I'm working on. Which I find good sometimes because when I hit a roadblock in one story, I shift gears to another one.Right now, I am finishing up a 10 part e-series called Seven Deadly Sins available online at major retailers..wink. I cam up with the idea because I like the weekly pace of a coherent serial paranormal adventure...a la The Green Mile.
Unfortunately Smashwords really doesn't enable me to publish them in a timely manner so I will probably not try that again.
I also have a haunted house story called American Haunted that I am about a third of the way through and should have completed by the end of the year.
I am also working on a paranormal romance saga called Into the Depths, which I should have completed by the end of this month.

Going to light a fire under my own butt by doing "The Adventures of Crackle and Bang" as my NaNoWriMo project this year. First time trying to do NaNoWriMo. It has been interesting clearing my schedule for a month of daily writing. Hopefully this will create habits I can carry on after November is done.Doc
I haven't written in almost two weeks. It's sad because deadlines are looming. But I can't seem to find the time when I'm reading other books. I have the time to write now, but I'm logged onto Goodreads. Not a good sign.
But I do have a new series first book completed. I doing the sixth or so read through, ready to send to my beta reader and my editor.
My other series, I'm working on the second book. I'm close to halfway done.
Right now I'm working on edits for my third novel, Behind Closed Doors. I'm hoping to have it finished up by the end of this month, but we will see how it goes. As for reading...I don't have much time for that anymore. I do try to get in at least one book a month.
Currently I'm doing the first round of edits for one novel, the last round of edits and submission of a second novel. Writing my first thriller/suspense novel and gearing up for Nanowrimo.

After two months of planning, I've finally started writing Serial Psyence. It's taking a bit to get back into the groove after a rather long hiatus (editing and planning take quite a while), but I can feel it coming!
I just released my first book, The Path of Light: The Chronicles of Vlandamyuir Book One and settling in to finish book two. Also, kicking around a short story idea or two. I normally don't do short anything, but this is one inspired by a song that I just can't seem to get out of my head...so I figure I'll write it down and see if that helps.
Currently getting my first fantasy novel, "The Hollow March," ready for a December publication. Settling details with my cover artist, looking over maps from my cartographer and the like - but on the side, I'm also rattling around a few short stories, prodding through them day by day. They provide a lovely distraction for when pre-marketing and the like is leaving the brain all frazzled.
I'm hard at work getting my young adult fantasy novel, "Wind and Fire", back out on the market after my publisher closed its doors. I'm looking on the bright side, though. This is giving me the opportunity to improve upon the novel, based on constructive criticism I've received from faithful readers.I'm also in the process of publishing my second fantasy novel, "Pool of Souls", which should hopefully be ready to go in a very short time.
Currently doing first round edits for Wrayth - my third Book of the Order with Ace. Then kicking into line edits on the Janus Affair: A Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences novel. In between I am sneaking new short stories for the Tales from the Archives which is my indie project set in the Ministry universe.
I am very much looking forward to Christmas...and a rest :)
Philippa wrote: "I am very much looking forward to Christmas...and a rest :) "Wait a minute... You get to rest?
Doc
This concept of rest both confuses and intrigues me. If you say sleep is involved as well then...well, I think you'll have completely lost me.
My ten part series is now finished and up, but to anticipate reader's interests, I've also stacked the first five and second five into volumes. That way you can read it as it was intended or read it in longer form.Seven Deadly Sins Volume 1 is now available on ITunes and B&N.
Seven Deadly Sins Volume 2 should be up in about two weeks.
My foray into paranormal romance Into The Depths is in the editing phase and will be released on Smashwords around Thanksgiving, which means it will be available at major retailers the week before Christmas.
Chris wrote: "This concept of rest both confuses and intrigues me. If you say sleep is involved as well then...well, I think you'll have completely lost me."Sleep? I must use dictionary to look this up. Must be a fantasy term.
With a sequel in the works, a shorty story to edit and a new book idea to tinker with I'm sure I've never come across this sleep idea.

I am on my fourth e-book in a Christian Mystery Series called The Reboot Files. This one is called The Wrong Ghost, mostly because it didn't turn out at all as I expected. In shameless self-promotion I have posted the first three on amazon and barnes and noble, all for 99 cents.

Hit a wall with sequel so started working on new paranormal series. I'm really excited about the direction. I showed my daughter the first three chapters...she called to tell me she had nightmares. I think I'm on the right track! **cue evil laugh**

One of the wonderful things about the wide-open indie marketplace is that you don't have to worry about immediate commercial potential. Just put the story out there and let it find its audience.
