MARTINA'S AUGUST CHARACTER ALPHABET PARADE UPDATE - 8/10

I just finished The Darkest Passion (Lords of the Underworld #8) by Gena Showalter (★★★★). This series is PNR. The background is that when Pandora's box was opened the demons (represending the evils of the world) escaped, but were placed by the gods into the bodies of the warriors who were responsible for keeping the box safe. Thousands of years later the warriors are being hunted by a faction of humans who think all the problems of the world will be solved by killing the warriors. Each book is the story of an individual warrior as they meet their mate.

This book is about Aeron, the keeper of the demon, Wrath. When the angel who has been watching him decides to "fall" rather than carry out an assignment to assassinate him, Aeron finds himself trapped between his duty and a desire to make this angel his forever.

I normally find this series good, but not great, but found this book to be better than average. I liked the return to a heroine who is "good" vs the last few who were more evil-under-restraint. There was something charming about the manner in which they fit together as a couple as well as the manner in which the story wraps up. I'm looking forward to the next book, the story of Gideon, the keeper of Lies.
