Alison | 234 comments Yeah, I think I'll let her know. She is very worldly, bless her my number 1 fan. We read the same stuff, she's the friend I just swapped kindles with. But I will definitely let her know there's a lot of bonking going to happen.

message 4352: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) LOL yes, best to warn her.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) ...and now a palate cleanser.

message 4354: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments Well I have to go feed horses, be back later and let you know what I thought of the film.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I'm about to head out myself. Have fun!

message 4357: by Alison (new)

Yay another Shadowfever lover! (although I didn't have any doubt, who didn't love it????)

You definitely should, it's very unique, not like any other book I've read in the genre.

message 4359: by Candy (new)

Candy | 387 comments I'm reading Hunger (Gone, #2) by Michael Grant the second book in the Gone series. Has anyone read it? What did you think? There are so many books I want to read that I am debating finishing this or not.

That's how I feel about Angel Star (Angel Star, #1) by Jennifer Murgia right now!!!

message 4361: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (bexsi) I have finished Lover Awakened Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3) by J.R. Ward The Third book in this excellent series is the best yet. Zsadist was amazing. 5 Stars
Spider's Bite Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep I would definitely recommend this book as a sexy, sassy read, especially if you're looking for the type of book where the female lead is strong, autonomous, smart and sexy. 3 Stars

Darkfever Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Darkfever is the first novel in the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. This book is full of mystery, revenge and tension. If you're looking for a fantastic supernatural tale that doesn't degenerate into an orgy, this might just be the one for you dont judge this book by it cover. 4 stars

Bitten & Smitten Bitten & Smitten (Immortality Bites, Book 1) by Michelle Rowen They story is utterly captivating and fun. The heroine is very easy-going and she made me wonder numerous of times, if it is actually possible to keep such a cold head under such "disturbing" circumstances. I enjoyed reading this book immensely, and would definitely recommend it to paranormal romance/mystery fans.
4 stars
Tempting the Beast Tempting the Beast (Breeds, #1) by Lora Leigh I like erotic fiction as much as the next person, and this series had real potential but it transcended a lot of the boundaries I'd previously read. This was the first Lora Leigh book I've read, and I was looking forward to trying something different, but now I won't be in any real hurry to rush out and read the rest of this series, unfortunately, unless they're a marked improvement from book one!. 3 stars for the plot

I am now reading The Iron Daughter The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey, #2) by Julie Kagawa and A Hunger Like No Other A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole and still reading The Hollow by Jessica Verday The Hollow

It's frustrating because it IS a good book, I just want to read other stuff more, lol!

message 4367: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Jan 31, 2011 01:40PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I think Isa read and liked Hunger. I've only read Gone and plan on reading Hunger at some point, but only out of curiousity to see where the series goes. I wasn't in love with Gone. The characters are great (especially Caine), and the story has a great premise, but the writing style is a bit dry for me.

@ Rebecca,

Loved Zsadists book! He's my favorite brother, with Rhage, V, John Matthew and Rehv all coming close. Lmao that only leaves out Phury, Wrath, and Tohr doesn't it?

Can't wait to see how you feel about the rest of Fever!

@ Carina,

Oh lord. I didn't like Magic Bites at all. The book was so flipping painful to read. I do know that the series is supposed be FANTASTIC though (everyone, and I do mean everyone says that once you get to book 3 you're hooked), and hardly anyone liked book 1, so I do plan on reading book 2 someday...sigh. I've even had people threaten me to read the books.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Is that the prince from Little Mermaid?

message 4370: by Alice (new)

Alice (aliciairene) | 116 comments That's right! Prince Eric, I love him.

message 4371: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Carina Will do! Loving it so far

message 4372: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Prince Eric! I used to think he was hot *but secretly still does*

message 4373: by Alice (new)

Alice (aliciairene) | 116 comments -cough- I still think he is, too -cough-
xD

message 4374: by Garrett (new)

Garrett (garrettgoodreads) I'm reading this Real Mermaids Don't Wear Toe Rings by Helene Boudreau . While it's middle grade, it's about mermaids, so I decided to pick it up. It's actually pretty funny, more like a story for all ages rather than just preteens.

message 4375: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) xDD nothing beats good ol' animated characters!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Me thinks Alice and Garrett should compare notes.

message 4377: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) Hmhm you're right.

message 4378: by Alice (new)

Alice (aliciairene) | 116 comments LOL maybe. xD

message 4381: by Timmysparks (new)

Timmysparks | 1637 comments Reading Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6) by J.R. Ward

message 4382: by Alison (new)

Alison | 234 comments Okay so I survived watching Dorian Gray. The only thing I have to say is that beauty really is in the soul because those 2 actors are my favorites. (I've had a crush on Colin Firth for donkeys years, and well, Ben Barnes, say no more). But in this film I found them both ugly because of the characters they played.

Did anyone get the ending?? I'm still trying to figure it out, please someone put me out of my misery.

Gah. Phury's book. I have a love/hate relationship with this one. I'm curious to see what you end up thinking of it.

@ Alison,

The ending? (view spoiler)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) The portrait was beautiful again, right? If so, I'd be hanging that over my bed, doing some wishful hoping.

Oh and I officially love the phrase "Donkeys Years" now. Thank you Alison.

Btw Brit, I hope you do end up reading Mine Til Midnight at some point. I just blazed through the 4th book in the series in a couple of hours. These books are so cute.

message 4391: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Stacia Yeah I looked it up and apparently the ending can be interpreted two ways and (view spoiler)

Yes I am planning to read it for this months challenge. The Demon King is taking me forever.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I still haven't read it yet. I hate it when I get stuck on something and then jump to another book. Every single person that I know who's read it rated the thing 4 or 5 stars, so it must be good.

message 4393: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Feb 01, 2011 12:13AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) Maybe if you (view spoiler)

Funny thing...I said that there was no way my husband would watch the movie - well it's been in our instant queue and I guess the other day when I wasn't around he tried to watch it and said he got 15 minutes into it and turned it off because there was no action. I laughed and said, wow you just missed all the stuff by a minute or two I think.

message 4394: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) It is really good. Probably still going to take me ages though.

I've started Such a Pretty Girl by Laura Wiess ... I'm already half way through. I'll finish it today I think. So when I'm done with it...

What should I read next?
Beautiful Darkness (Caster Chronicles, #2) by Kami Garcia or Firelight (Firelight, #1) by Sophie Jordan

message 4397: by Jess (new)

Jess (jess_readsromance) I haven't read Firelight, so I'd tell you to go with Beautiful Darkness, as long as you've read Beautiful Creatures. You'll like BD its quite good.
