@Carina: BDB is a must-read (frakkin entertaining!) but the Demonica series isn't (it's just OK a bit meh, actually.) On Vlad, I really don't know if there's a spin off for him...

@ Stacia: I'm really shocked that I find one the first of Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series slow! I've had it for two days and I haven't made a dent in it yet!

message 1554: by Carina (new)

Carina @Isa I read one of the Demonica books(#2) but like you said it was, blah, just ok. And I was afraid the BDB was gonna be like that, but Im glad to hear its better!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) @ Isa,

I've only read the first book and found it to be just okay, nothing special. I keep getting told over and over and over that I can skip ahead to book 4 because that's where the series picks up and the books start tying into the Fever series (I guess the first three don't really at all), but like I said earlier, I'm just too OCD to start in the middle of the series.

message 1556: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) @Stacia Awesome I'm gunna start it today but I also have the second Night Huntress book arriving so..

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 914 comments Oh my. So, I just went to my library to check out some filler books to read. I came back with 8! So here they are ... A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly , Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith , White Cat (Curse Workers, #1) by Holly Black , Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher , Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson , For Keeps by Natasha Friend , Looking for Alaska by John Green , and Playing in Traffic by Gail Giles . Oh my goodness.

message 1559: by Carina (new)

message 1560: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 914 comments Good! They are all short. The longest one is only 386 pages, so I think that I will read them even if I don't want to continue! Lol...

Isamlq Carina wrote: "Who r the last two about? If I have it right the first three r about the brothers right.."

That's what I hear! I had more because the librarian had 4 others looking for good books for me and they were giving them to me from left and right! lol... But I'll let you guys know what I think about them as I read them.

I'll get started now. I finished Playing in Traffic last night. I gave it two stars. It is short and a fast read. An ok filler, I guess. A little sad at the end. But it's not one I was crazy about and I won't ever re-read it.
Started Looking for Alaska and so far it's pretty good!

message 1574: by brittany (new)

brittany (cirilla) I just finished Rumors (Luxe, #2) by Anna Godbersen loved it!

Now going to read One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost even though I really shouldn't with all my library books.

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments I finished Masquerade & I must say that it was much better than Blue Bloods. I'm reading The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause. Not very far into it, but it's ok so far. Nothing to write home about yet.

The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause

message 1578: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments Also, I guess I drown my sorrows by shopping. So I bought:

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen Wake (Dream Catcher, #1) by Lisa McMann Encountering Heaven and the Afterlife by James Garlow The Wild Girls by Pat Murphy Generation Dead (Generation Dead, #1) by Daniel Waters The Fledgling Handbook 101 by P.C. Cast

I'm thinking that I don't need to read This Lullaby right now though... I'm just guessing by what I know of Sarah Dessens other books.

message 1593: by Carina (new)

message 1594: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Nov 23, 2010 11:56PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I wasn't as fond of Mercy Thompson as everyone else seems to be, but I've only read the first two. It wasn't that I disliked them (they were decent), but was moreso confused that everyone had been telling me that they were OMG SO GOOD and I didn't think they were amazing.

Thought I'd try something different for book 3 and decided to request it on audio and see if it's better to listen to.

I also own Unholy Ghosts and can't seem to get past the halfway mark for some reason. I keep picking it up every so often and try to read another chapter but it's going slow...

@Stacia and Carina... I liked Moon Called. I'm going to start the second Mercy T. soon. They've got the same feel to them as the Kate Daniels series (I AM A BIG KATE DANIELS fan...) :)

I felt the same way about Kate Daniels at first, but they really do get better :)
I don't think Mercy is in my top 10 either (at least not yet). I'll have to read the rest before I make that call.

message 1597: by Isamlq (new)

Isamlq lol! So many books, so little time, right?

I'm supposed to be reading Blood Bound (Mercedes Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs but got sidetracked by My Soul to Keep (Soul Screamers, #3) by Rachel Vincent (which was much better than the first two) and My Soul to Steal (Soul Screamers, #4) by Rachel Vincent .

message 1598: by Carina (new)

Carina Haha totally Isa. Some books are greedier than others and demand your attention right away. I've learned not to fight them Lol!!
