I'm reading Catching Fire now by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games is amazing!! I couldn't stop reading! :P
Im in like a reading coma or something. I havent started reading anything in like a week...nothing appeals to me =(
Well, if you liked the Hunger Games, try the Uglies series. It was one of the first books I liked since Harry Potter. :)
I just finished Ember & I loved it!!! Not for children though... At all. I was shocked, because I thought it was young adult & it's much more adult.

I thought The Forest Of Hands & Teeth was fantastic, but I didn't like the ending or how they are connecting the second book & third book to it...

I thought it was slow but by the last third of it I was all in!!! Reminded me a good bit of the movie The Village. I have "Dead Tossed Waves" but have yet to read it.
I agree with Catherine. The book was interesting to me, but knowing the second book was not going to be following the second character, especially after how it left off open ended like that, I lost interest with continuing.Sometimes I love series where each book is a new character, but this time I didn't care enough I guess.
Pamela-I've read Uglies and liked it, but the writting style is difficult for me to get through the book. Its fast & slow, fast & slow, through out the whole book, and if its the same with the rest of the series then I better not keep reading it right now.
But now that you mention Harry Potter, you reminded me that I want to re-read the last book before the final movie comes out!!
Stacia-I'm not reading anything right now, so I'm definetly ready for our buddy read whenever you are =)
Catherine-
I've seen a few people have the same reaction you had to Ember...lol. Was the book good though?
Debra- I've had little spaces where I just find a good book to snap me out of my non-reading moods. But lately I've read quite a few good/great books and I'm still stuck =(
Maybe we can start around Monday-ish next week? I have a buddy read I'm working on right now with a couple of girls, and have a group read I need to finish up.
That sounds great, in the mean time, what the hell should I read? I don't think I've ever gone so long without reading(since I started reading last July)
Since I don't think you read the last one yet?
if you want steamy
if you want fun and light...or...hmmm...one sec.
Just looked at your TBR.
is a lot of fun and I adore Cam.
was on your list and it's pretty good, but I'm liking Perfect Chemistry so far better than this one, for an opposites attract type of story. Since I know you're Mexican, I'm not sure if the main character would be a guy you'd like or if you'd find him to be a bad stereotype. He reminds me of a guy I used to date, so I'm liking him.By now, you've read a lot of the good ones I'd rec, so I'm not having as many ideas as I used to.
Exactly! I've probably read most of the good ones by now, but I should probably give Anna a go if its fun and light. Is it a stand alone?
Yes, it's a standalone and has an ending with closure. The author wrote a companion book that comes out later this year, but from what I can see it's companion in name only, because I can't find one character from this book that crosses over to the one coming out.
AAAArrggghh! I lost my "license" to view
today after a computer swap. I was more than half-way through and now I'll have to wait weeks to get it again. I was completely flashing to the Village for the first 30-40 pages, but then I snapped out of it. So far, it is amazing. My main concern is for Jacob (I was picturing my son), but please don't spoil me. If he gets eaten, I want to be able to skip over that part and pretend it never happened.
I've been reading Dracula. Yes, I know not really YA book... but it's like the start of Twilight books etc.. so it counts. It really shows the era it was written in though. Very long widened but enjoyable.
I just started
today, but I may hold off reading any more because there are some YA books I really wanna read more right now. I've not read much in the last 2 days because it has been very hot, but I hope to make it up tomorrow and the rest of week when it goes back down to the 50s-60s.
Carina,My inbox is not letting me get messages (guess a lot of people on GR are having errors right now), so I'm not even going to bother sending you a mail because you might not see it.
Leea and Wendy want to read First Grave too and we all thought Monday was a good time to start if you're ready to go.

Dora610 wrote: "oh,is the first book a story for itself or are the second and third book continuing the same story"The second book is actually the story of someone else connected to the first book.

Carina, it was really good. I read it all in one night!

I'm popping in and out sporadically at the mo, got so much on my plate. But I was so excited I just had to let you guys know, coz you're kind of on this journey with me.
was listed as free on Kindle on Weds. By yesterday it was #17 on the Top 100 Bestseller list and at time of writing this, it is at #14!! In less than 2 days it went from around #80,000 to #14. I nearly fell off my chair, I can't even imagine the amount of exposure that is giving me and hopefully the 2nd book too.
.I just want to thank you all so much for your support, feedback etc etc. I love this group and you've all been great.
I hope you guys don't mind me posting this but I'm so excited and I just wanted to share that excitment with you.
just hit #1 on the Kindle bestseller list for Children's Sci fi/Fantasy!!!Please excuse me while I dance around my bedroom for a while :-)
Congratulations, Alison!I'm currently reading Mockingjay and I there are only two options as to why I'm not reading it now. 1) I'm not in the mood and 2) I'm not enjoying it. I'm not sure which one it is, maybe both, maybe none. But all I'm sure about is that I will not sleep late just so I can read this tonight. (It's 3:55 AM now.) Or maybe I will. We'll see. :)
@AlisonYay Ali! So happy about your book!@Catherine The Night Huntress series is awesome! And the first book is sooooooooo good!
@Pamela Mockingjay was my least fav of the series but I hope it gets better for you =)
Carina, I really do wish it gets better. I can already guess what might happen in the end when I read Catching Fire. And my friend actually spoiled me of something and I hope she's not right because if she is.... :'(
Thanks Jen, Catherine, Pamela & Carina. I'm so excited. Just a little while ago it hit #1 on the bestseller (free) list across ALL children's e-books. Not just Sci Fi/Fantasy, and now sales of The Emerald staff are starting to come in. That went from #10,000 on the bestseller list today to #5000.My head is spinning.
