Charlotte's Web is one I've been thinking about reading to him, but with his Daddy just passing away... I'm just not sure if he could handle it when the spider dies... Those other books sound really fun though! I'll have to check them out for him.

Does anyone remember a book about a boy & a donut machine or something? I've been trying like crazy to remember it. Oh! Mr. Poppers Penguins is another good one. Yay. I wonder if I can find a copy of that.

Joan{missing the vampire bunny slippers!} (joan3000) | 100 comments I finished Destined for an Early Grave (Night Huntress, #4) by Jeaniene Frost and I have to say it was the best book in the series so far!

I am starting First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1) by Jeaniene Frost as soon as I can and probably Hex A Witch and Angel Tale by Ramona Wray too! ^_^

I have exams coming on though next week so I 'll have to stop for a while! :(

Alison | 234 comments Just finished City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare and in true Randy Jackson form it was "meh, just okay for me, man". I'm sorry guys but I just don't see what all the hype is about. There was very little plot line and I'm having a hard job wondering how they are going to make the movie interesting to watch. It took me nearly a month to get through it.

Maybe it's just the first book. I'm hoping the rest get better, but right now I need a change. So I'm reading 50 Ways to Hex Your Lover (Jazz Tremaine #1) by Linda Wisdom and just today I received my proof of The Emerald Staff (Custodian Novel # 2) by Alison Pensy . Super excited. It's already up as an e-book but now I have to examine the paperback from cover to cover before I approve it.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May, & June by Robin Benway

and I am hoping to finish this in the next day or so:
The Vespertine (The Vespertine, #1) by Saundra Mitchell

Catherine, I totally hear you. I'm having a hard job getting into books at the moment too. I think I'm going to have to read some adult books for a bit. either Night Huntress, BDB or Midnight Breed. But then they all seem to be a bit much of a muchness too. Ho hum, hopefully I'll pull myself out of this reading funk soon :-)

See... I've tried to read the first book in the BDB series more than a few times. I really have a hard time getting into adult books. (I mean, I'm only 30... Jeez. ;) lol) The only adult books that I don't have problems with are books like Prozac Nation, The Heroin Diaries; basically books that are either memoirs or biographical... I think my brain is just too small. I'm surprised that I can even read. lol

Alison | 234 comments To be honest, I think the Fever series just ruined me! I don't think I've been as inspired to read since I finished that series. It's the old addage (that all the literary agents spout all the time, "There are no new ideas, just different ways to use the old ones" but I start reading a book and within a few pages I'm like, 'oh here we go again, that's just like *insert book title here*

I think I'll shut up now, coz I'm being far too pessimistic and I try not to allow that in my vocabulary :-)

I know how you feel though Alison. I feel the same way. Oh, & movies! I'll always say after the first twenty minutes or so, "Oh, so this & this & this is going to happen." & everyone accuses me of having seen the movie before & in reality, I guess I technically kind of have. It's just been under a different name with different actors...

Same deal here but, I just can't help loving YA fiction, so it's like, what do you do, ya know lol. It's very hard for me to get into adult fiction. I've been trying to make myself at least give some classic books a try and I just end up ignoring them for the YA books, lol.

The things I read in adult are philosophy (habit I picked up from college). And I really like bio's. But those are not fiction books. Besides Paulo Coelho & Dan Brown books, there's not a lot of adult fiction that can hold or grab my attention for too long.

Alison | 234 comments Jen, Fever is the best series I've ever read. It was just awesome, but unfortunately because of that, all the books I've read since have pailed in comparison.

I enjoy both adult and YA books. I loved HP and got seriously into Twilight just before the 1st movie. I think one of my problems is, I don't read very fast and don't have alot of time to read, so you guys here have gone through a whole series by the time I've finished the 1st book :-)

But I have noticed that a lot of books i've read recently do seem to run along the same themes, even though they're supposed to be different, but the underlying themes are all the same, ie love triangles. Urgh, I've had it up to here with love triangles, can't anyone think of anything more original than that?

Maybe I'm expecting too much, again, Fever has ruined me :-) God I'm sounding like a pessimistic old hag aren't I? Grouchy, Grouchy LOL!
