Thank you, Charlene! How scary is it would you say?

It can be very scary in some parts. The scene that stands out the most in my mind is the window scene. You will know it when you get to it. : )

I wanna read that book. How is it so far?"
So far, so great! :)

Awesome, Linda! I love The Passage...and I'm really looking forward to its sequel, The Twelve, due out in August!

The Beam: Beams are physical forces that hold up the Dark Tower. Like the Dark Tower, they are infinitely old, created at the beginning of the Universe and are themselves living entities all male brothers, having arisen from the Prim... http://darktower.wikia.com/wiki/Beams.. :)

Have been having a bit of a Sherlock fest recently haha

Hi, Kathryn!
Yes, definitely keep reading. It does get better, IMO.
But personally, I didn't have any problems getting into it. Cronin's well-written prose sucked me in immediately..

I stopped when the nun goes to the zoo with the girl. For some reason I just couldn't get past that bit and dropped the book.

That's a great part of the book! What made you drop it there?

I'm actually not sure it struck me funny for some reason (deleted my original response to your question as it referred to a different thread in HA, Lol been to posts in both a lot today.) I keep meaning to get again and see if i think different on a 2nd try.

You really should. It's a fantastic book.

One of my all time favorites. IMHO, one of his best written!

I liked it, and will read the rest of the trilogy, I think.... not as good as King, but definitely worth the time...

Same here."
Probably a stupid question, but is "The Twelve" the second book in the trilogy by Cronin? And, if so, when is it due to be out?

On Amazon it says its coming out August 28, 2012, but the publisher could change it at any time.

Yep, The Twelve is the second book, and it's due out this August.:)

BTW, I did not enjoy The Passage at all, though I finished it. It was my worst read of 2011 (keeping in mind I usually do not finish books I don't like). Glad others enjoyed it, but it was just not for me.

I recently bought this, but I have yet to read it. Let us know what you think of it!

I have seen this book at the bookstore, and I have to ask..What the heck is that on the cover?
