I just finished Gil's All Fright Diner and The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making. I enjoyed the first book a lot, but not really the second book. Now I just got to Daughter of Smoke and Bone, which could be better, then reading Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

If you liked Beauty, you might want to try the Mercedes Lackey book The Fairy Godmother. A bit different but just as m..."Thanks! I will definitely check it out Sharon!
I ended up getting hooked on Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.
lol,I can't stop! I have to find out what happens between Clary and Jace! I am currently reading the third book, City of Glass
Slogging through The Hobbit. I could see reading this to my kids when I have them...but it's a little heavy while being waaay too light for me right now.
Scott wrote: "I finished Fool Moon and I started Gil's All Fright Diner this morning. It is off to a good start."I just finished Gil's All Fright Diner last weekend. It was a quick fun and funny read.
I'm reading a lot of different books right now so I need to finish some of them up. I've added Warbreaker and Nightlife to my currently reading list. I'm enjoying them both, especially Warbreaker.
Jenny, be sure and hop on over to the "monthly read discussion" and share your thoughts on Nightlife when you have time!
Just started reading Moon Over Soho. I really enjoyed Rivers of London so I've been looking forward to this.
Kevin wrote: "I just finished Gil's All Fright Diner last weekend. It was a quick fun and funny read."I just started yesterday and I'm already halfway through. Excellent book.
I just finished Double Star by Robert A. Heinlein, then onto some Orson Scott Card with Pathfinder and Shadows in Flight, ending with The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
I finished City of Glass this morning. II have Nightlife and was planing on reading it but I am really more in the mood to continue on with the Mortal Instrument series City of Fallen Angels or the new series that takes place before Clockwork Angel
lol Please help me make up my mind!
I was trying to get through all my library books so I could get to some of my own books...I just picked up 6 more library books. sigh
I have no will power.
Tyrone wrote: "Just started reading Moon Over Soho. I really enjoyed Rivers of London so I've been looking forward to this."I need to get to #2, I really enjoyed #1.
I am reading Froi of the Exiles
and it is really good. It is so much better than the first one in my opinion.
I'm reading
and am about half way. Really liking it. It's nice since I just went through Mercy Thompson and didn't really feel like leaving that world yet.
Faith wrote: "I'm reading

Just finished Wise Mans Fear this morning and was sorry to learn no new instalment until 2013. Going to begin The Desert Spear.

A guy list is needed now.
Just finished Embassytown, which was interesting though a bit iffy in places. Going to try and finish Dead Until Dark, then onto The Alloy of Law.
I am about a third into Nightlife by Rob Thurman. Honestly I was not expecting to like this book. I even debated starting it, but now I am quite enjoying it.
Back to my favourite wizard private eye, Harry Dresden, with Dead Beat. Love the addition of Mouse to his household!
Cheryl wrote: "Back to my favourite wizard private eye, Harry Dresden, with Dead Beat. Love the addition of Mouse to his household!"Hey! Me too! I'm currently on Dead Beat as well. What a weird coincidence!
I have bookends of Chinese guard dogs and always think of Mouse when I look at them.

I absolutely loved Mouse in the last book when he was a fat, fuzzy puppy. Now, he's a gangly, big-footed, fuzzy puppy and I still love him.

Not only that, he is one SMART dog. There is a lot more to him than we know.
Of course, Mister is still the boss and ruler of all he views
I'm reading Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold.I bought it four or five years ago. I do not know why I was so hesitant to read this, it's been absolutely superb so far.
Off topic- how do those picture links work?. I just can't figure it out.
Finished The Desert Spear yesterday and moved onto the second in the Night Angel series, Shadow's Edge. So far not enjoying it as much as the first. A little confused at first trying to remember all the characters and the plot turns from the previous book.Just out of curiosity do I really need to read the Dresden files in order? I know most have recommended this and I only ask because I have 5 sitting in my library bag. Placed holds on most of the series but have yet to receive the third book and have the 5 in the series. So frustrating.....
Doing a bit of science fiction at present; just finished Blackout and am starting All Clear to finish the book. Started The Book Thief a bit fantasy a bit historical fiction. And am reading a history Byzantium: The Surprising Life Of A Medieval Empire. And today Froi of the Exiles just arrived in the mail. That ought to finish out the month of March for me.
Reading Throne of the Crescent Moon which is great fun. Will probably go for The Magician King next!

Haydensdad wrote: "moved onto the second in the Night Angel series, Shadow's Edge. So far not enjoying it as much as the first. A little confused at first trying to remember."I'm totally with you on that one. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Excellent review I totally agree so far. I wondered why I was having so much trouble reconnecting with the characters and plot twists that led to the opening of the second book. I however will likely push on as my book OCD leaves me compelled to finish a book or series that I have started unless it completely without redeeming qualities.
Haydensdad wrote: "I however will likely push on as my book OCD leaves me compelled to finish a book or series that I have started unless it completely without redeeming qualities. "I hear you! I have the third on my shelf (from the library) :)

Shadow's Edge was confusing to me, too. I had to re-read Way of Shadows just to get up to speed, and found that I liked it better with the second reading. I think the series suffers from First Book Syndrome, where the author has had more immersion into the story and the world than practice telling stories. The Black Prism is his second series, and his growth is obvious.
I got my copies of Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, and Magician's Gambit from my friend who had them for three years... I hate when people do that! I just read the first one, and kept having fond flashbacks to college, reading by flashlight while my girlfriend slept. She always hated that damn flashlight, but my relationship with the flashlight is longer than the one with her!

But I agree...and that's why I don't lend books.
Now reading The Turn of the Screw for English Literature. Not bad, but it's taking a while for the pace to pick up. I think what doesn't help is the edition I've got has bigger pages than a regular novel with a smaller font so it takes ages to read one page :D

I've been putting it off since there are 20 some odd books now!
I'm in the middle of re-reading the Dresden Files now and so have a few days to decide.
Valdemar or Chronicles of the Black Company by Glen Cook?
I'm reading three urban fantasy books right now:Darwin's Children--really liking this one. Has a great X-Men vibe.
A Devil in the Details--off to a good start. I need some good paranormal buttkicking action right now.
Tempest Unleashed--a bit too much angsting longing going on. I'd like more worldbuilding on the mermaid front than "I miss this boy" sighing.
Finished The Alloy of Law and really liked it. Not sure what to read next, though I might go down to the library and pick up The Night Circus and I'm waiting on an ARC in the mail.
I've started on Daggerspella bit early so I have a chance of joining in the discussion in the right month (bit slow with my fantasy reading at the mo). Really enjoying it so far - a good old fashioned fantasy.
Valerie wrote: "Finished The Alloy of Law and really liked it. I highly recommend it and I hope you enjoy it if you read it next.
Last night I started Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. This is going to be a fun one.
