Laura Leigh (lauraleigh72) | 6 comments I love Lyndsay Sands, JR Ward & Lora Leigh. I also enjoy Nalini Singh & Karen Marie Moning. I'm still kinda learning what's out there. Do read any of these ladies? Do you have any suggestions?

message 202: by Tara (new)

Tara | 142 comments Welcome!

I've read Sands, Ward & Moning. You might try the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. And if I may point you to this thread, it might be helpful to you to pose your question again here. :)

message 203: by Laura (new)

Laura Leigh (lauraleigh72) | 6 comments Thanks, I was looking at that threat earlier.

message 204: by Alyx777 (new)

Alyx777 | 22 comments Hi! I'm Alyx. I'm from Romania and I love everything related with the Dark-Hunter series.

message 205: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Welcome to the group Alyx. Hope you enjoy your time here with the rest of us minions. :)

message 206: by Alyx777 (new)

Alyx777 | 22 comments Thank you. Is good to be around other Sherri fans. The books are not translated yet in my country so I don't really have who to talk to about them except my mother.*smiles*

message 207: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ah nice. Glad you and your mom can enjoy it. I can barely talk to my mom about it as she isn't one for romances.

message 208: by Alyx777 (new)

Alyx777 | 22 comments I am lucky that whey. She is the one that found them first and now she reads them in Spanish and I do it in English 'cause it is a little bit faster. Not so much with the patience *giggle*.

message 209: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hahaha. I hear that. I took a spanish class or 2 in high school. But I was mostly in it for the food. :P

message 210: by Laura (new)

Laura Leigh (lauraleigh72) | 6 comments Hey Alyx777! I don't have ANYONE I know personally who reads SK or any romance.... I'd love for my Mom to discuss it with me. You are lucky!!! I think it's great you can be multi languaged.... if that's a word! I'm with Dhfan4life, most of my spanish is curse words and the food.... well, and the men, hehe!

message 211: by Alyx777 (last edited Mar 14, 2011 10:09PM) (new)

Alyx777 | 22 comments Yeah....it was very useful to know English and Spanish when I've spent the summer in Arizona in '09. I'm lucky indeed, English from school,TV, computer and books and Spanish..I don't really know....some TV series when I was in grade school and Latin music I think. Romanian is a Latin language also and that makes it easier for us to learn Spanish and Italian really fast. I can do French and Italian too but only when it comes dawn to History, Art History....and strangely enough....Biology...Genetics...*laughs*....I could never read our lovely books in one of those languages......I get to speak with my mom on the phone...she lives in Spain for a couple of years and she found the books there....she was so excited and wanted to share them with me...told me there were rapidly becoming her favorite books ever. I always trust my mother....especially when books are involved. Now I can't wait for them to be translated in Romanian so that my brother and a couple of my friends read them also...so that they can understand what I'm always talking about..and I just realized that I'm babbling....sorry ....

message 212: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Haha. It's ok I talkl to a friend from Romania online. And yea he is teaching himself italian and said he got English from tv shows and various things too Alyx. I just think its great how easy people can pick up various languages. And sounds like language is the least of your many skills there. Biology and Genetics too. Watch out now, lol. And don't worry about the babbling. I'm a pretty long winded chatter too. :)

Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (mylheage) | 359 comments Hi everyone!

I'm new and can't wait to talk with you about the DH!

My fave characters are Savitar, Vane, Stryker, Fury, Zeke and Ethon!

My fave book is Devil may Cry!

message 214: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I loved Devil may cry...wait there really isn't one that I don't like so far.

message 215: by Alyx777 (new)

Alyx777 | 22 comments I have to agree. There is not one that I didn't liked so far and I've just finished Invincible yesterday.

message 216: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Welcome to the group Sarah. Glad you are enjoying the books and we welcome you to our corner of the goodreads site for sure. I've got Invincible on my book buying list for the month.

message 217: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments Hi all! I'm Jayne from Seattle, Washington. Enjoy all Dark Hunter Books.

message 218: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hey Jayne, welcome to the group glad you are enjoying the books. have tried any of her other series as well?

message 219: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments Have not tried any of the other books yet. I'm here for new suggestions. SK has lots to choose from that's for sure. Looking forward to more Dark Hunters. Hasn't been any in a while. Want to see if Tory is having a boy or a girl.

message 220: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I haven't tried the others. But I have heard that the League series is pretty good. I'm reading the CON books which aren't too bad if ya like Nick. The next DH one is coming out in August and the second one of CON is already out too. Can't wait to see what she has too and who the kid takes after. Although I think it will be blue like Ash for sure.

message 221: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments Whatever it is, it will have alot of powers, no doubt about that. Blue? Cute!!

I have read the one book about Nick, Infinity. Haven't gotten the new one yet. But see that group is reading it now. Will have to make it to the book store soon.

message 222: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea I'm waiting til Tuesday to pick it up with Lover Unleashed by J.R. Ward.

message 223: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments True!! Lots of V in that book, so I understand. Can't wait. It has been too long between her books too. Just can't get enough V or me.

message 224: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I'm just glad there is going to be a butt kicking chick in the series. I mean it took long enough to even get Xhex in the picture. And now to have another butt kicker have to say I'm lovin' it.

message 225: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments Do you get the impression that maybe Xhex and Payne knew each other before mommy dearest put Payne in deep freeze? They will be an interesting addition.

The new group of brothers coming from the old country will be an addition too. How are they going to take to Wrath telling them what to do. They've been on their own for a long a time.

message 226: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I'll have to look out for both of these points. I'm up to Ch. 27 of Lover Mine. As this is my first time reading the series it is all still kind of new to me. But both will be rather interesting aspects for sure. And I can only imagine how the other brothers will react to Wrath as he is so not his dad. Did you like him as a character? Wrath that is?

message 227: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments Yes I do like Wrath. Dark Lover, being the first book, I thought was well done. She had to put alot of info into it. Just laying down the back ground for the series was a big step. Liked Beth and Wrath as a couple. But I'm glad to see she has carries over and given us alittle more of their relationship even after that first book. Wrath character is definitely growing. I don't know how I feel about him being blind. Was hoping Dr. Jane could take the eye that Xhex took from Mortag and give them to Wrath.

message 228: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Hmm. Using the eyes of the person that placed an assassination attempt out on ya. Now that would definitely be something for sure. I wasn't a big fan of Wrath myself. He is far too snappy and not always so appreciative of his friends and others. And as I've said before in another thread. It may sound bad. But I'm glad he went blind. Not cause I hate him so much. But because of the fact that his fate was to be the King. And although it is great he wants to fight the good fight. He has to also be a leader as well for the WHOLE race and not just playing king only for his men. But he'll get it I hope.

message 229: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments I think Beth has played a big part in his stepping up as King. He is finally "seeing" the need to do the job he was born to do. Like all the brothers he has his hang up. But I like that they are flawed and not perfect. That's I believe is what set the brother apart from other series.

message 230: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Well I get character flaws and even quirks. But Wrath is a character that makes me want to kick his ass. I mean for most other characters they have something to work with. But Wrath he totally does not put much stock in his team and he throws low blows and it's not cool. That is why I liked how Tohr called him on being the ass he was and told him how foul he was being in Dark Lover. But was man enough to not hit him back for it. Even though Wrath deserved it.

I'm still not sure how to feel about Beth. I mean she still never got the whole story about Marissa from Wrath. She just puts up with so much from him and yet Wrath never seems to handle his business to me. He is forever at loose ends to me. I prefer reading about V, Butch, JM, Blay and Qhuinn, heck even Lash more so than Wrath.

message 231: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments Maybe since it was her 1st forte into that genre, she just did not have the character of Wrath developed enough. I agree that the other brother appear alot deeper. I loved Tohr. Thought he was the only brother that had it all together. Was shocked when she killed Wellise off. As far as JM goes, we follow him from his infancy so to speak to adulthood. So say his personally develop over quite afew books.

message 232: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea Rhage wasn't too developed to me either. I mean I know he has his flaws and stuff too. But his back story was very a kin to that of a frat boy to me. I mean he just drank and hoed around and got a bird shot and then he gets the dragon? Hmm that wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be for him. And his relationship with Mary totally feels like a cougar relationship in a way to me lol. I guess cause he is not on a fully mature level even though he is older than she is. And she went through the whole cancer thing. But she just seems older than him.

Ya know the most surprising thing for me was that she reincarnated Darius/JM so fast like that. I mean I liked Darius out the gate with Tohr. But still to bring him back so fast. I was like wow. But it was nice to have him come back and show us what it is like for a youngin vamp.

message 233: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments I did like to see JM develop. Especially after he started training. Liked the new characters Quinn and Blay were brought into the story.

At least we did get some back ground on Darius in Lover Mine, as far as his past goes, and his interaction with Tohr.

Tohr's story is one I want to read.

message 234: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ah yea. Darius was like the grand daddy of them all for sure. I didn't realize he was older than both Wrath and Tohr. Totally loving the intro of Blay and Qhuinn especially after they transitioned. At first Blay kind of annoyed me though, but he's growing on me as I want him with Qhuinn. And in a way I think Tohr's story is sort of interwoven with Darius's in a way as he took him in after his father renounced him like that.

message 235: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments How is she going to settle the situation with Tohr and a new HEA? Leave Wellise out there in the fade. Put him with someone else. That's going to be a hard one.

message 236: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I don't know. I think he will still have to re-build himself. But she might have Wellsie re-incarnated too. Never know.

message 237: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments I understood that would probably not happen, because she would have to leave their son in the fade by himself. That appears to be what is holding her there.

message 238: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Well not just that. But I think she lived a pretty full life. And isn't the Fade their version of heaven too? I mean she may have been taken out in the prime of her life. But no real reason to not come back even for Tohr in a way. But who knows. He might just end up with a chosen. Maybe even Layla. In a way I hope it is her as I'm kind of tired of her whining about being trained in sex and not getting any.

message 239: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments Layla, now there's another subject. With her any on guy will do. I hope she does get someone to be with. I agree with the shining part. She just doesn't have a clue.

message 240: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea just dropping her robes in front of JM before he transitioned like that was something else. I mean I know he was in his 20's and all. But still she could have totally been more subtle.

message 241: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments Obviously her training didn't go far enough. But you have to look at how repress the Chosen have been. What is with that? Does the SV not have a clue?

message 242: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea, I seen how they were from Phury's book. And yea that does suck for them. But still just wow, given how Ward was writing things from JM's perspective at that age. He was like a little kid and she was like a porn star in that kitchen. As for the SV I think she let her idealism get the best of her. Although to a certain extent I could see how having a brother come to the Chosen to procreate and stuff back in the day. As they all didn't seem to have much unity and back then she was the know it all of them. So sure she could have always called in a brother to be with the chosen. And as they didn't have many attachments they would gladly to have went. But yea she should have updated that when things got more modern. I mean at least put all brothers on rotation instead of just having the one. Could have even made it a requirement for each of them before they got mated to participate for like up to 6 months or so then rotate off. After all they can't properly get mated unless she agrees to it. So I think that could have possibly worked out some how.

message 243: by Jayne (new)

Jayne | 38 comments Well, she chose to have a child with the Bloodletter, how smart was that??

It is after midnight here and I know it is later for you. So I'm signing off for the night. Good chatting with you. I see your on here frequently so I hope we can chat again soon. Nite

message 244: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ok sure thing. Take care and again welcome to the boards. :)

Oh and yea Bloodletter was a very bad choice. But in her case she must not have known which bad boys were worthwhile and which weren't, lol.

message 245: by Sandy (new)

Sandy (sdylion) | 1 comments Hi, I am Sandy. I am a die-hard fan of the Dark-Hunter variety. I have read all the books in that series plus the CON series now starting. I also have started the Belador series which I find quite exceptional and I did read the B.A.D. series which was also entertaining. When I catch up with the "to do" shelf at home, I plan to tackle purchasing "The League." But for now, my favorite remains The Dark-Hunters and their world.

Cheryl aka Pashion (ExRockGoddess) | 13 comments Hi Sandy! Love the Dark Hunters... who are your favorite?

message 247: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Sweet welcome to the group Sandy. I keep hearing good things about the League series and some of her other series. But at best I find I relate the most to the DH world. The others don't really relate what I'm interested in. I have read a short story of her's Love Bytes and it was pretty good too for a contemporary story. Glad you are able to join us. :)

message 248: by Zany Rin (new)

Zany Rin (zany_rin) Well let's see ... where to begin ... well mihi nomen est (my name is in Latin) Erin but you can call me RiN. As for home life I was born in Iowa but moved to the grand state of Maryland when I was 5 and have been here ever since mainly because of family but once I discover the state that does not get snow in the winter I am so out of dodge.

Interesting facts of me (like my pro says) books are like the blood that flows through my veins music is like the air that fills my lungs while making graphics with photoshop is my mistress in life.

My current SK was No Mercy (which I just finished) what can I say I was a little last in discovering SK probably due to my fall from the turnip truck. But in any case I survived that horrid accident and discovered my love for this series which I merely stumbled upon while searching for a 'new' series to read.

While waiting for Retribution I am currently reading Ward's Lover Unleashed and will follow that with Ione's Eternal Rider, Clare's City of Fallen Angels and Showalter's Darkest Secret. After I have read my March 29 releases I will be on the hunt for a new series. Any suggestions ladies?

message 249: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) lol...Snow gotta love it...NOT! I'm glad you are ok from your accident though OMG that must have been horrible.

Oh there's the night Huntress Series, Anita Blake, Meredith gentry, Chicagoland Vampires, oh so many.

message 250: by Zany Rin (new)

Zany Rin (zany_rin) I do have Hamilton's Meredith Gentry sitting on my book shelf along with K. Harrison but I am not sure whether I want to jump into one of them or something else. But thanks for the suggestions.
